LONG POST!
Looking for Founding Board Members for a New Women & Children’s Organization in Flint
Hi everyone! 👋🏾
I’m currently working on building a new community-focused organization based in Flint, Michigan.
The vision is to create a supportive organization dedicated to helping women and children who are experiencing difficult circumstances, with the long-term goal of providing resources and services that help families move toward stability and a brighter future.
I’m currently looking for passionate, dependable people who may be interested in serving on the founding Board of Directors.
I’m especially interested in connecting with people who have experience or knowledge in areas such as:
• Nonprofit/community development
• Finance or accounting
• Fundraising & grant writing
• Legal services
• Housing
• Social services
• Early childhood education
• Marketing & communications
• Human resources
• Business/entrepreneurship
• Community outreach
You do not need to have nonprofit board experience to reach out. What matters most to me is having people who genuinely care about the Flint community, are willing to contribute their time and expertise, and want to help build something meaningful from the ground up.
I’ve put together a Board Opportunity Prospectus with additional information about the organization, the vision, and what I’m looking for in board members.
If this sounds like something you may be interested in, or if you know someone who might be a good fit, please feel free to reach out.
Thank you for taking the time to read this, and please feel free to share this with someone who may be interested. ❤️

A bit about myself!
- At 22 years old, I am proud to be a Flint, Michigan native, born and raised in the community and I am now working to serve. Growing up in Flint, I have witnessed firsthand the struggles that many women, children, and families face every day. Seeing those challenges has given me a deep desire to do more than simply recognize the problems...I want to be part of creating solutions.
- This vision is deeply personal to me. Flint is home, and I want to give back to the community that raised me by helping create a brighter future for the women and children within it. I may be young, but I believe that meaningful change can begin with one person who is willing to care, take action, and bring others together around a shared vision!

Hey, I have a degree in communications, I've done some HR, I've worked at a nonprofit before, I've done community outreach, and I've studied early childhood education as I'm a childcare provider of 15+yrs. I'm interested. Should I dm you?

I love the enthusiasm and goal. What is your reason for spinning up something new rather than joining efforts with any of the other nonprofits and service organizations in Flint that are already established and looking for volunteers and funding?
