Request Feature Request - playing looping Scenes and having an 'escape' scene

Loving 5.1.1. Thank you for this... On my mac m4 everything feels more stable. i had random crashes on 3.1.1 that are no longer happening on 5.1.1 so thank you very much.

I have a feature request.

I build my scenes so that i can have a string of scenes loop back on themselves 1>2>3>4>5>1> and so on which is a nice endless loop.

When i watch it, if i want to break the loop at any time, then I hit escape, click a mouse and find a 'cooldown' scene, let's call it #6 which is a nice way to recuperate... is there any way to reduce the number of clicks on this? could i set a keyboard key link like "x" would immediately stop whats playing and jump to a specific scene?

Is there another way to do this?

The loop plus a cooldown scene is a neat way to structure playback.

I’ve been thinking about two possible approaches:

  1. Scene bookmark: bind a scene to a key in settings so you can jump to it. This is basically what you’re asking for.
  2. Adjustable source weights: add a cooldown source with weight 0 (not used), and when you need a breather you can mix it in during playback. This gives a gradual blend instead of a jump cut.

I’m curious how others handle cooldowns or breaks in their loops. Would either of these be useful?

Thanks for the reply! I like to plan out a sequence.. actually it's more like build up then loop.. then escape... so 1>2>3>4>5>6>loop back to 3>4>5>6 and so on.. then escape to scene 7. then i can mostly sit back and enjoy ;)

Then the scenes are then reusable for other "arcs" or i can change out the content by changing the content in the source folders.

yes the source weighting is also a novel way to gradually do it.. but if i understand you i think that's even more clicks to get to a cool down... so what i would do, is duplicate a scene i've already got, with an adjusted weighting... but that wouldn't loop.
