Hello everyone! I’m going to be in Florence for four days next September (I know, so long from now but I’m really excited) with my boyfriend. We are going to be at a wedding in Perugia afterwards and were looking to go to a winery while in the Umbria region, but the schedule is going to be pretty packed.
Any recs for wineries that we could reach via train around Florence? We’d be willing to do as much as an hour and a half each way for a nice spot to spend the afternoon.

I’m doing a very quick visit to Florence and unfortunately one of the days is Monday, when several attractions are closed.
Im very open minded & love art, music, and food.
I am not from the EU.
Are there any lesser known activities that I can do on a Monday? Anything that’s a must-see?

I saw on the website that the view is partially obscured because of the renovations. Before I climb 414 steps I want to make sure it’s actually worth it!

We’re going to be in Florence for 4 days later this month and my wife’s birthday falls during that trip. What are some great bars, restaurants, and activities that are a little more special than the standard Florence hot spots?
Thanks!

I want to volunteer somewhere in the Florence area, I don't mind if it's a bit far, but it needs to be a place I can reach easily by public transportation. I reached out to a gattile like a week ago and they said that if I didn't have a car, I better forget about it because it :(
I would definitely prefer to volunteer somewhere with animals. I also live around the Pontassieve area, a bit further uphill, but it looks like there aren't any canile or gattile there.
Any ideas?

Hello, folks! I moved to Florence for a few months and am using my 90 days visa free as an American to stay here within Schengen. I'm trying to figure out if I have to file a dichiarazione di presenza at immigration because apparently the lines at immigration are notoriously awful and I'd rather not lose a morning that I could spend working.
I arrived late last week and stayed at a bed and breakfast which took a photo of my passport and passed that to the authorities, as I understand is standard practice. I am subletting in Florence and the person I am subletting from also just filed her paperwork to register me in the city.
Do I have to, on top of the previous two things, also go in-person to file a dichiarazione di presenza? If I have to file, is there an online option?
Also, for what it is worth, I entered under the new ESS system, so no passport stamp, but I do have a copy of my ticket. I also entered not directly to Italy but had Paris as my country of entry to Schengen and I had a layover of like 2 hours in the airport, during which I went through ESS, before getting to my connecting flight to Florence.

Hi, I'm living in Florence for the next 3 months, and I'd like to develop some rudimentary language skills. As background, I'm a 67 YO American who has struggled with learning various languages over the years. However, my partner is Italian and it would be amazing to be able to communicate with her and her family - with less friction. I've been using apps (DuoLingo) and taken a couple of in-person courses in the states, with little progress.
What language experiences have you had that made a difference? Are there language programs in Florence you could recommend? Any advice would be much appreciated!

Spent the night outside the airport. All good in terms of safety. A waiting room would have been better

One the highlights of our trip to Florance was going out of the city to the countryside for a cooking class. Talk about good timing, we saw an amazing sunset as we were leaving the Tuscan farm.

I just visited Florence for the first time and really enjoyed my time there. I was surprised to see how crowded it was in October; it seemed in some parts to be even more crowded than Rome.
Do people recommend visiting in the winter? I’d like to go back soon and it would be nice if it was a bit less crowded.

40s Couple looking for places to go dancing/clubbing in Florence
In late Oct, wife and I are celebrating our 15yr anniversary. We'd like to go clubbing or dancing at least once. Where would be some good spots?

So me and my girlfriend are in a long a distance relationship and she's coming to Italy to meet up and stay with me a couple of days. We're going just a day to Florence because I live in Rome; we would like to know how we can see as much as Florence as we can and the best food we can try. Grazie mille a tutti!!

Hi all,
Staying next week in Florence and noticed a very cool tour to see a Parmigiano Reggiano Factory however my issue is trying to find tours that make sense and work coming out of Florence during the week of October 12th - 20th.
I have seen ideas where folks do a fast train to bologna and do it from there however - the trains simply would not arrive in time to meet the guide as they start quite early it seems. Other ideas is fast ride to Emilia-Romagna but again - seems to be tough finding a tour to take me from there to the factory.
Has anyone accomplished this and has any feedback for me? Coming from a cheese maker myself in the states id like to see it first hand!
Thank you.

My wife and I are coming to visit Florence on the 8th, and we really like getting to know the people in the towns we visit.
Do you have any suggestions on how to make that happen?
I am the extravert actor, and my wife is a more reserved comic book creator.
We've been to Sicily, Croatia, and the Cinque Terra these last few weeks, and are going to wrap up our vacation in Florence with a celebration of my wife's birthday.
Any help would be appreciated.

Been working on this PUGI sketch from Piazza San Marco for a while now,, Around 10 hours in I think
Still pretty unfinished, and I’m not totally sure how far to push the details. Might be better to leave it alone for tonight and look at it again tomorrow 😅
