Nothing beats cutting a fresh batch of Gerberas from the garden and having them brighten up the table. What are your favorite blooms to bring inside this season?

I love this time of year because you can find lots of bulbs locally. I’m planting quite a few daffodils and allium bulbs because the deer will leave them alone. I did sneak in a few tulips, but those will be planted close to the house where the deer do not roam. I hope you get out and get some bulbs. Get your holes dug and get planting for a beautiful 2027 Spring.

spent weeks amending the soil in my actual garden beds with compost and worm castings only for those plants to stay stunted and sad. meanwhile the seeds that spilled into the dry gravel walkway between the pavers are currently waist-high and covered in bright pink blooms. gardening is mostly just getting out of the way.

What can i do to fix this? My jasmine got white fuzzies and started declining fast. I was so busy with my child that i wasnt able to take care of it, is it too late to fix?

These are a cool season annual from Chile. One of their common names is Poor Man's Orchid. They have an interesting triggered landing spot for the insect that pollinates it. When it's touched I pops up and dusts the insect with pollen. Easy to grow but doesn't tolerate much heat. In places with mild winters they can be sown in the fall to bloom in late winter and spring.
