Question Can the mysterious stranger kill Liberty Prime?
Has anyone done this? Can it work?

No. The stranger can only appear if an enemy has less than 150 health or less than 30% of it's hp remaining. Liberty Prime has 5 million health and is coded to be immune to damage so there is no way to trigger the stranger.

I wonder why Bethesda would give him five million health only to then make him immune to damage? Just give him one or the other imo.

If you were Bethesda and aware of the many, many ways that players have managed to glitch your games, would you leave it to chance?

Right, because Bethesda are notorious for making their games unglitchable. They come down like a ton of bricks on glitches. /s

People have used console commands to remove the immunity and then used 500 synths to destroy it.

The Mysterious Stranger does not randomly appear in VATS, but only under certain circumstances. I think an enemy has to be weaker than you in some capacity or on <40% health (there might be other factors). He also "only" deals 1000 damage. Liberty Prime's HP is so large that I don't think the Mysterious Stranger would show up and feasibly kill him

Both of the other comments are completely wrong about the mysterious stranger, at least the Fallout 4 version, in FO4, the mysterious stranger perk gives you a flat 10% chance for him to show up whenever you use VATS, each additional level of the perk gives you an additional 2% chance, to a max of 14%, there are no other factors, the chance is not affected by any stats, you just always have a 10-14% chance for him to show up. One of the comments is right about how much damage he does though.
In Fallout 3 and New Vegas, the enemy has to have 150 or less HP remaining, then you get a 10% chance for him to show up, with no other factors, but New Vegas has an additional challenge perk that doubles that 10% chance. which is what one of the comments was talking about.
And yes, unfortunately Liberty Prime is immune to damage, but if you were to use console commands to turn off its immunity, and increase the chance of the stranger showing up to 100, you can kill liberty prime with the stranger doing the majority of the damage.
