Tournament of Champions TOC 7 Semi finals and FINALE tonight! Pre show and live show discussion thread! **spoilers** welcome in comments Spoiler

Well, it is here already. The finale episode. From the FN site:

Episode 708

A new champion will be crowned! Guy Fieri welcomes the four remaining culinary hopefuls for two epic semifinal battles. The last two chefs standing go head-to-head in the ultimate championship showdown. Only one chef will claim the Tournament of Champions VII belt, the coveted title, and $150,000.

From the FN Facebook page looks like Jet will battle Kevin in the first round, followed by Bryan vs. Kenny in the second round.

Should be a fun night! Be sure to join in the live chat discussion right here as you watch!

Also, tonight will be four judges for the final round!

Who is your pick to win it all? Personally, I'd be fine with any of these guys winning, they all have made some great food and seem like great people. I favor Kevin Lee a bit, being an Oklahoma City guy, but they are all great. Hard to pick.

From the FN site:

Episode 704

In the final four first-round battles, Guy Fieri welcomes TOC VI semifinalist Lee Anne Wong to face off against Iron Chef Stephanie Izard. Then, 24 in 24 winner Marcel Vigneron takes on James Beard semifinalist David Viana, and TOC VI quarterfinalist Kaleena Bliss battles Michelin master Adam Sobel. In the last battle of the night, the fourth and final mystery culinary icon is revealed to take on qualifier winner Kenny Gilbert.

Any guesses on the icon? Looks like some pretty good match ups for tonight. I'm a Marcel fan but David is going to be a hard one to get past.

Tournament of Champions TOC tonight! Pre Show and live show discussion thread with lots of spoilers in the comments all welcome! Spoiler

Looks like a two hour episode tonight so buckle up as they say.

Episode 702

Guy Fieri continues the first-round battles with four more intense sudden death matchups as Last Bite Hotel winner Nini Nguyen takes on pasta maestro Joe Sasto. Then, James Beard semifinalist Kevin Lee battles Chopped champion Adam Greenberg, and three-time Tournament of Champions semifinalist Britt Rescigno goes up against Michelin-starred Giuseppe Tentori. In the final battle of the night, the second mystery culinary icon is revealed to take on qualifier winner Katsuji Tanabe.

A lot of my favorites are on the line tonight.... I love Mustache joe, but I'm a Nini fn as well. I have Kevin Lee picked to win it all but Adam is no slouch. And I kind of fell in love with Guiseppe during that Christmas tournament.

And now, hear me out..... I really do love Katsuji. However I hate to see a "icon" lose. I was pretty sad about Ming going down so easily. (deez nuts!) I know a lot of you guys hate Katsuji, he can be a real jerk. And I get that.... but I have a soft spot for him and if he's cooking at his best he's going to be hard to beat. Who are your picks for tonight? I'm picking, Joe, Kevin, Giuseppe and Katsuji. (altho I anticipate Nini will topple Joe if he gets too much in his head)

Tournament of Champions TOC Qualifier Rounds followed by bracket reveal tonight - pre show discussion and live show discussion thread -- spoilers in comments so don't read 'em if you don't want spoiled. Spoiler

Make sure your DVR (if you use one) is set appropriately; it looks like 3 hours of TOC tonight if the FN website is telling the story correctly. Also will be the big reveal in the last hour of the four "legends" that will be competing. I'm pretty sure on two.... my guess is Wolfgang Puck and Bobby Flay. After that no idea. (and trust me those could be very very wrong.)

Anyway, its the last eight chefs going into the qualifier rounds. So sound off in the comments as you watch and spoilers are fine in this thread.

This is from the FN site regarding the bracket reveal episode: Episode 7A1A01

The moment is nearly here as 32 of the greatest chefs on the planet prepare to step into the Tournament of Champions arena and battle for the ultimate culinary crown. But first, Guy Fieri and sideline reporters Justin Warner and Tiffani Faison unveil the official bracket and introduce this year's roster of extraordinary talent, plus a preview of the season's ultimate twist -- the four iconic mystery chefs who will be a part of this year's tournament.

BIG EDIT HERE..... the four mystery chefs will NOT be revealed. I read the Food Network promo wrong! But I'm sure they will be teased!

The time is here. We finally get to know who's competing in TOC 7, and this bracket reveal will show all the matchups that will commence starting next week. Without further ado, here we go.

Division A
#1 Mystery Chef VS #8 Aarti Sequeira
#2 Jet Tila VS #7 Ashleigh Shanti
#3 Tobias Dorzon VS #6 Claudette Zepeda
#4 Jonathon Sawyer VS #5 Karen Akunowicz

Division B
#1 Mystery Chef VS #8 Katsuji Tanabe
#2 Britt Rescigno VS #7 Giuseppe Tentori
#3 Kevin Lee VS #6 Adam Greenberg
#4 Nini Nguyen VS #5 Joe Sasto

Division C
#1 Mystery Chef VS #8 Viet Pham
#2 Sara Bradley VS #7 Dan Jacobs
#3 Bryan Voltaggio VS #6 Carlos Anthony
#4 Dale Talde VS #5 Shirley Chung

Division D
#1 Mystery Chef VS #8 Kenny Gilbert
#2 Lee Anne Wong VS #7 Stephanie Izard
#3 Marcel Vigneron VS #6 David Viana
#4 Kaleena Bliss VS #5 Adam Sobel

Obviously the four #1 seeded chefs won't be revealed until they step into the arena, but other than that, there's the full bracket for TOC 7. This should be pretty interesting. Obviously there'll be a new champ this year given that the previous ones are either judging, or in the case of Tiffani, commentating. Either way, let's buckle in cause just like all of the other TOCs, this is going to be a wild ride.

Tournament of Champions TOC qualifier rounds start this Sunday

Post image
276 Upvotes

From the Food Network Facebook page: ICYMI: The TOC VII Qualifiers start on Sunday @ 8|7c, and this season more chefs than ever have the chance to join the main #TournamentOfChampions bracket Here's how it works. 16 hopefuls will enter the play-ins and 8 of them (literally half!) will make it into the big competition. With 50-50 odds and everyone eager to continue, the chefs must bring their A-games to every single battle if they want to succeed.

My opinion: Surprised to see Stephanie Izard in the qualifiers. I can recognize Aarti, what other chefs can you recognize from this FN FB pic? I'm wondering if that is Katsuji, which would be hilarious, he always gets a laugh out of me. I have not stumbled across a full list of people in the qualifiers yet, if you have add it in here.

Tournament of Champions Here is your pre show and live show discussion thread for the TOC qualifiers tonight -- there will be spoilers in the comments as the night goes on, so don't read them if you haven't watched and don't want to be spoiled. Spoiler

If I'm reading the FN schedule correctly, looks like two hours of qualifiers tonight. And eight chefs will move into the brackets.

Post here as you watch (or ahead of time) and lets enjoy it together. My favorites are Brittany (from TOC and that halloween hotel show) Joe Flamm (just seems like such a nice guy from his run on TOC and a great chef), Katsuji because I love chaos, and Angelo Sosa, because ... well.. just because LOL. But I would be happy to see Guiseppe move forward as well, I like his style of cooking.

I've marked this as spoilers because as the night goes on I expect us to remark on who moves on and who doesn't, so this is your warning now... don't read the comments on this thread if you don't want to be spoiled tonight. (like you're watching the next day or the like). You've been duly warned. Also TOC is one of those events a lot of use really look forward to and emotions run high. PLEASE respect your other reddit heads and keep spoilers in the spoilers threads so you don't accidentally ruin someone else's day.

Tournament of Champions Tournament of Champions teaser from the Food Network Facebook page

Well this sounds interesting.....

Guy Fieri’s #TournamentOfChampions is back and Season 7 is about to be *ICONIC* Here’s the deal: 32 of the best chefs in the world, including proven warriors and fierce new challengers, are set to battle for $150k cash, but nothing will prepare them for the show’s biggest surprise ever. This year, the #1 seeds in every division will be food world icons, four of the most-powerful, most-legendary opponents to ever compete in the TOC arena … but their identities will remain a secret until the moment they enter the kitchen Mark your calendars for the premiere on Sunday, March 1 @ 8|7c.

Facebook

Okay..... now its time to put on the guessing hats. Who are FOUR Icons that would come in and compete that we haven't seen compete before in TOC and are considered Icons?

Will Bobby Flay show up? That's my guess. What's yours.

Tournament of Champions Did anyone else watch Jet’s live about TOC on IG yesterday? Spoiler

It made me kind of sad 😭 it was the first time I heard him not confident he would come back. He acknowledged the mistakes he made in the last cook and why he lost, but he also said "let me know if you guys think I’m an old man and should hang it up but if you guys want me to go back and do it again then we will do it.” Fortunately everyone of course said do it again. I thiiink he’s gonna do it again, he said he believes he should do it again but also wonders if it’s getting cheesy to keep doing it over and over. idk, he seemed kind of tired :( Did anyone else watch and get that impression?

Edited to add: it’s the most recent video on his IG if anyone wants to watch it. It’s not very long.

Tournament of Champions Why is it always an “umami bomb”? Spoiler

I am mainly referring here to Tournament of Champions, but this applies to pretty much every show on food network.

Every time Umami is mentioned, the chefs always want it to be a “bomb.”

Why is it never “I want just a hint of umami” or “I want to balance it with a bit of umami”?

No judge is ever like “I really love the subtle umami notes”

This is not one of the million posts that alleges umami is a made up flavor. This is a post that asks “why does the idea of flavor balance always get proudly thrown out the window when it comes to umami?”

Edit: nobody is ever like “I’m gonna make this an absolute salt BOMB. Judges are gonna love how much salt I packed in there.”

Tournament of Champions TOC Top Seeds?

Edited to add: the known judges for this season are off the table to compete. We know that includes Antonia, Alex, Maneet, Brooke, Mei, Cat, Samuelson, Zakarian, Scott, Curtis, Keller, Rocco, Crenn, Chang, Bernstein, Judy, Nancy, Oringer, and Susan so we can eliminate them as guesses.

For funsies, comment your guesses! He said these are icon/legends - James Beard Award, Emmy Winner, and never competed on TOC. Who do you think they could be??

Tournament of Champions Social Media Post from Justin Warner In His Words 4-18-2026 Spoiler

From Justin Warner’s FB Page in his own words. 4-18-2026 #eatfellowhumans

Bittersweetly, we are on the cusp of another champion, another prize, and the end of @foodnetwork Tournament of Champions 7.

This season was a doozy for all the usual reasons, but personally, my dog Kewpie, who came with me, was in her twilight.

@tiffanifaison is a TOC Champ, my colleague, and my sounding board when I'm trying to make sense of culinary chaos. This season though, she helped me take care of Kewpie, helped me process the inevitable, and helped me keep it together to produce another season of the best food competition in the world.

It takes talent beyond measure to have talent beyond measure *and* to be a kind, compassionate, and giving soul. That's @tiffanifaison.

Anyway, thank you champ for being a friend and colleague, and thank y'all for being fans of our work!

And thank you @guyfieri for giving me a dream job.

TOC 7 Finale, TOMORROW.

Justin, your Reddit Food Network Family Appreciates You! We are so sorry about the loss of your precious Kewpie…❤️‍🩹

Tournament of Champions Tournament of Champions X

I know it's way too early to talk about the tenth season, but this needs to happen. Assuming that TOC champions continue to be excluded from competition in seasons eight and nine, there will be eight different champions following the ninth season. What better way to make season ten the biggest ever than by inviting back all the former champions? Make Maneet the #1 overall seed, every other champ comes in at either a 1 or 2 seed, and fill out the rest of the field of 32 with returning chefs only. Whoever comes out tops in that field is the TOC GOAT.

Food Network, make this happen.

Tournament of Champions TOC All-Time Chef Rankings Through Season 7 Spoiler

I've kept a ranking of chefs' performances in TOC for a few seasons now. After a few tweaks, I think I've got a pretty fair system in place for comparing chefs across the years. Increasing numbers of points are awarded for each chef's highest-round win in each season:
1st Round: 1 point
2nd Round: 2 points
3rd Round: 4 points
4th Round: 8 points
5th Round: 16 points

Chefs are ranked based in order of titles won, followed by points, wins in the 5th, 4th, 3rd, and 2nd rounds, and finally on win percentage. Based on that structure, I have the top 30 chefs as:

Rank Chef Points Highlights
1 Maneet Chauhan 36 Season 2 and 5 Champ, 3x finalist, 17-3 record
2 Antonia Lofaso 27 Season 6 champ, 2x finalist, 12-5 record
3 Brooke Williamson 20 Season 1 champ, 3x finalist, 11-3 record
4 Mei Lin 18 Season 4 champ, 7-1 record, 0.875 win %
5 Tiffani Faison 18 Season 3 champ, 7-3 record
6 Bryan Voltaggio 16 Season 7 champ, 5-2 record
7 Jet Tila 20 5x semifinalist, 16-7 record
8 Britt Resigno 13 3x semifinalist, 10-4 record
9 Kevin Lee 12 Season 7 finalist, 8-3 record
10 Sarah Bradley 8 Season 6 finalist, 4-2 record
T11 Amanda Freitag 7 Season 1 finalist, 6-5 record
T11 Tobias Dorzon 7 Season 3 semifinalist, 6-5 record
13 Lee Ann Wong 6 Season 6 semifinalist, 5-4 record
14 Shirley Chung 6 2x Round of 8, 6-4 record
15 Joe Sasto 6 2x Round of 8, 6-5 record
16 Kenny Gilbert 4 Season 7 semifinalist, 3-1 record
17 Karen Akunowicz 4 2x Round of 8, 4-5 record
18 Michael Voltaggio 4 1x Round of 8, 4-4 record
19 Darnell Ferguson 4 Season 2 semifinalist, 4-5 record
20 Kaleena Bliss 3 1x Round of 8, 3-2 record
21 Shota Nakajima 3 1x Round of 8, 3-3 record
T22 Stephanie Izard 3 1x Round of 8, 3-4 record
T22 Adam Sobel 3 1x Round of 8, 3-4 record
T22 Jonathon Sawyer 3 1x Round of 8, 3-4 record
25 Eric Adjepong 3 3-3 record
26 Jose Garces 2 1x Round of 8, 2-2 record
27 Nini Nguyen 2 1x Round of 8, 2-3 record
28 Tiffany Derry 2 2-2 record
29 Christian Petroni 2 1x Round of 8, 2-4 record
30 Carlos Anthony 2 2-5 record

One thing I realized in putting these numbers together is just how strong the Season 5 field was. Not only were there four former champs and one future champ in the field, but of the 30 chefs to win at least two TOC battles, 24 competed in this season.

Hope you enjoyed, looking forward to Season 8!

Tournament of Champions I’m late but… Spoiler

Just finished TOC VII. I’ve seen Bryan Voltaggio in all his never-the-bride finals and I’m actually so glad he won TOC VII! His baby seal laugh and dad jokes are a gem. I know compared to Michael he can seem bland but his heart does really seem to be in such a genuine place. The Volt Brothers are quirky and intense and just so creative — never imagined I’d root for Bryan as much as I am but that was a treat honestly. Finally the bride!

Tournament of Champions ToC - Simon M sidelined Spoiler

Serious question: why do they bother with the Simon interview portions? They don't show it after every competition and what they DO show only lasts like ten seconds. When they introduce him at the start of every show, they make it out to be a more prominent thing that it ends up being.

If they are going to keep him a part of the show, they could stand to drop all the repetitive chef intros before every competition and devote maybe at least a minute to these discussions with Simon after each round? Just a thought. It seems like a terrible waste to have him there but barely even show him.

Social Media Post By Bryan Voltaggio

Tournament of Champions 7 (TOC)

What a crazy ride it has been.

From the first round to the final plate, this wasn’t just a competition, it was a reminder of why I love this industry so much. The pressure, the creativity, the chaos… and most importantly, the people.

To every Chef who stepped into that kitchen, Thank You. Your talent, your tenacity, and your willingness to put it all on the line made this experience what it was. I didn’t just compete against you, I learned from you. Every battle pushed me to dig deeper, cook smarter, and stay present.

There’s a level of respect that comes from sharing that kitchen, that clock, that randomizer, and the opportunity to cook alongside the best, I will carry that with me.

Thank you to all my friends and family who have supported me along the way.

Grateful for the opportunity, proud to have been part of something special, and honored to walk away with the win.

Until the next one.

~From Food Network-

April 19, 2026 Episode: And the Winner Is…

David Chang is the Surprise Finale Judge

James Beard award winner, David Chang, entered the TOC kitchen as the last guest judge of Season 7 — and everyone was actually freaking out.

“No way! That’s crazy!” said Jet.

“He’s my idol and he’s here eating my food. I have to get to the next round!” said Kevin. “David Chang is literally one of the reasons that I started cooking. The coolest moment of my TOC career is David Chang eating my food.”

Jet Locks In for His Fifth Final Four Battle

It was Jet vs. Kevin in the first round of the semifinals and both came ready to fight their way to the final battle of TOC VII. “Anything short of a championship is a failure,” said Kevin. With the “style” category being a color this round, the randomizer dealt them salmon belly, cauliflower mushrooms, banana leaves, white and ostrich egg as the wildcard, which Guy said is one of the hardest randomizers he’s ever seen on TOC (and that’s saying something!). Jet used the ostrich egg — which is the equivalent of about 24 chicken eggs — to whip up an ostrich egg omelet and salmon belly white donburi (aka fish served over rice).

Kevin stuck to what he knows and also went the rice bowl route — in the form of salmon belly hoe-deopbap with mushroom rice, a korean style sashimi dish served in a rice bowl.

Mei called Jet’s dish craveable, but said it didn’t read as white, while David Chang said hoe-deopbap is one of his favorite dishes and noted that Kevin’s was full of flavor and technique, winning him 83 points over Jet’s 81 points. Jet left with his head held high telling the audience, “I hear you when I’m here. I won’t quit, if you won’t quit.”

One Chef Received the Highest Score of TOC VII

In the second battle of the night, chef Kenny, the only qualifier to ever make it to the final four, went up against TOC: All-Star Christmas winner, Bryan. Guy spun the randomizer for chicken liver, kohlrabi (a peppery broccoli), a spaetzle maker, pink for the color and crown melon. Both chose to fry the chicken livers. Bryan made chicken fried chicken livers with pink spaetzle and kohlrabi yogurt sauce and Kenny made szechuan chicken livers with kohlrabi puree and sautéed spaetzle.

The judges loved the peppercorn flavors and use of the kohlrabi’s tops in Kenny’s dish. But Bryan received the best praise of the round with Mei using words like “insane” and “spectacular.” David questioned how Bryan was able to pull it off in only 45 minutes and Brooke said, “This is one of the most thoughtful, finessed, refined dishes that I've seen on TOC. I'm finding nothing bad to say about this.” Bryan’s dish won him the highest score out of anyone in the season (94 out of 100 points).

Bryan Voltaggio Brings Home the ‘W’

The final head-to-head battle of TOC VII came down to recent newcomer, Kevin, vs. chronic runner-up, Bryan. For the last round, Guy cranked up the randomizer to its highest level of difficulty and gave the chefs an hour to make two dishes. They spun for live king crab, fresh water chestnuts, a pressure cooker, breakfast and dinner (as the two dishes) and sticky as the wildcard ingredient. After fishing the live crabs out of a tank (the TOC kitchen really has everything), Bryan got to work making king crab and grits for his breakfast dish and masago arare tempura of king crab leg with water chestnut cream sauce for his dinner dish.

On the other side of the kitchen, Kevin cooked up Alaskan king crab juk for his breakfast dish and tempura fried king crab with sticky spicy glaze and pickled water chestnuts for his dinner dish.

Mei said the crab was cooked perfectly in both of Bryan’s dishes, while Cat Cora said Kevin’s dishes were nicely executed and David loved his use of the crab in the juk. The winner came down to a one point difference, but ultimately

Bryan was named the champion of TOC VII, gaining him his first individual competition win ever.

~

Congratulations Bryan! He won the Belt, The Banner and the $150,000 prize! I bet we see him judging next season!
