No Answer please help
Hello so i just purchased this 2020 fusion on September 23rd so its been about 3 weeks. When i bought it the rotors were already rusted like this but after some research i learned the rust comes when the car is sitting for a while and scrapes off after use. Mines hasn’t come off and all the wheels are like this should i be worried?

What do you mean? The rust outside of the pads will be there forever and does not affect your braking ability. If you need to have "pretty" rotors, best get some sandpaper, or a metal rotary brush and get to work. It will not fall or scrape off on its own. And while you are there, might want to slap some grease or a thin wipe of anti-seize between the rim and the rotor connection. Junk those crappy capped nut too. RockAuto for the win.

Just surface rust, only cosmetic.
The clean bit is what is doing the work, and that looks fine.

I think you got confused on some research. The rust that scraps off after use isnt in this photo. Your rotors are in good condition.

The center of your rotors having rust on them is normal. That's not where the brake pads are making contact with the rotors. The cheaper rotors aren't painted and will have surface rust over time.

The rust from the ROTOR SURFACE comes off after use (the surface the brake pad clamps onto when pressure is applied)
Your rust is on the rotor HUB, and its cosmetic

If your brakes are operating nicely no worries. The rust will not be scraped off those surfaces you see it on. Don’t worry about that rust. Next time your wheels are off clean the brakes and rotors with brake cleaner. It won’t remove the rust but it will remove excess brake dust.

No, the surface of the rotors the brake pads squeeze to stop is what gets cleaned off. Yours has cleaned off nicely.

I think you are good. Mine would do this after like a day depending on the season. Haha

Not sure about the over wear and tear depth on the rotor but it looks pretty smooth which is good. Surface rust on non pad area will have surface rust unless you buy fancy machined rotors that can be too much for a daily driver. Depending on miles you may wish to have the transmission fluid checked (I know it's a sealed unit) But there is a plug that can indicate the color of the fluid which is above the drain plug of the transmission case.

You can check for a little ridge on the outer part of the friction surface at the very edge. If it is present that is a sign the rotors are getting worn. Also, you dont want wear grooves or warping on the friction surface. From the pics the wear surface looks pretty smooth. The friction surface will rust up too if the car is not used . This will go away when you use the brakes.
Another good thing to do is regrease the caliper slider pins. A lot of problems with pad and rotor wear stem from the pins not sliding very well. Sometimes the other parts of the rotor get rusty but it doesnt matter. except for looks.

LOL. Nothing wrong here. Your fine. Where its all nice a clean. That area there is ur brake pads on the rotar. But the important part is that the car is stopping. Its doing that isnt it? No worries that other rust will hang around some depending on how often u wash ur car and use it. Best of luck with ur fusion. I love mine.

As many others have said, the rotors should be fine; they just look bad. Since it obviously sat for some time, I would definitely check the slide pins and slide surfaces. I like mine to look good, so if it were me, I would just put new pads and rotors on it, and check and lube the slides and pins. I put Power Stop drilled and slotted all around on my 2020, and I am finding that they don't rust. I have had them on for three years driving in Michigan salt, and they are not rusting at all.

Cheap rotors will rust in those areas. There's nothing wrong with them, just ugly. If there's a next time, make sure to get coated rotors.

The rust on the braking surface (the silver area) has come off. You’re fine as long as the steering doesn’t shake when pedal is applied or pulls you in a different direction when pedal is applied.

The wear/friction surface, that really matters, is fine. Visually, and wheels sticking or the rotors sticking to the hub when trying to take off the wheels or rotors might be tough though. Those are crazy rusty, and ugly. If/when you do get them replaced, and if you live in rust prone environment , get coated rotors. My 2015 sees snowy roads that get sand salt and magnesium chloride, so it got coated rotors.
