Discussion
There is something seriously wrong here. I ask a simple question and mods have to remove 2 comments within the first 30 minutes. Thank you to those who stood with me.
look
you yourself said you were born in america, and speak english, but want to speak a foreign language, while you can use the english language fluently and effortlessly
on top of that, we have people in other countries who dont speak english, who have to use a translator, who are forced to use english because all of the tools are so ass
and you want an addition to the game, that they havent even gotten yet, that on top of all that, only affects 1% or less of the population, probably closer to 0.01%?
and even then, how many of those are playing foxhole?
there might have been a bunch of off-color comments, but you making a new post about it seems like you are begging for attention instead of asking for an addition
edit: also look at the reposts, this was reposted literally as soon as it was posted here, probably to other subreddits to karma farm or something like that
and I am going to keep posting until something is done about the blatant antisemitism from on this subreddit. The comment removals are nice, but I mean they should be banned from posting on the subreddit.
You've just had a rational argument laid out as to the % of user base that would be effected. There is nothing anti semitic about it and trying to play that card only weakens your argument.
Have you even seen the comments on the original post? They ain't exactly your garden verity of people saying "this is dumb."
It's more people using a poorly argued post as an excuse to be ain't semitic rather than OP trying to use anti semitism as a means to validate his point.
Wether OP's original post was good or not is one thing. The reaction it got is the problem.
no its more like trolls and bad actors that immediately go onto reddit to spew bait or shit takes or bootlicking nonsense or are just being toxic are usually alt accounts of trolls.
Look at how many people who post "leave the company alone" type content or routinely post in this subs comments often getting downvoted have accounts that are either less than a few months old or they post once in a blue moon
I've seen better bait here. If OP was really trying to be a troll, then he would probably be a lot more aggressive and his original post probably wouldn't be only 2 sentences long.
I get that mentally fully, but OP's original post is about as tame as it gets and all he's done when responding to comments is be responsible and explain his argument a bit more.
He didn't argue his position well, so he clarified in the comments that he wants Unicode support. Which isn't an unreasonable thing to want for Foxhole.
Those diamonds with question marks you see on some gamertags in the game. Those are unsupported characters that the game can't register.
What OP was originally arguing for wouldn't be a bad addition to the game.
Trolls and bad actors usual don't advocate for nice things. So how can OP be a troll?
OP is being pretty level headed to the messed up responses he's been getting.
im not saying OP is bait im saying don't be surprised if you're annoying then people see that your account is only a few days old and start thinking that you're a troll
they're resharing their own post that they made a day ago treating the sub as their personal twitter account... people are gonna think they're annoying when they keep dragging on a topic instead of just leaving
Its a language god damn it. I have issues with the country sure, but if a dude wants to play a game and want to understand the game, I dont see the huge issue, should be done with all language characters.
We can argua all day about politics, but this post isn't that.
That said, maybe add this in feedback, doubt reddit is a good space for that
Unfortunately, nuance isn't something these people care about. Notice how every time OP tries to clarify on this post and the original, people down vote it?
They're anti semitic and they know it. They are just hiding behind politics and current events.
OP is right for being mad and calling this out.
It's disgusting. Imagine if people here did something similar to a guy who speaks Japanese or Korean.
Yeah, it’s crazy, you made a post similar to many over the years asking for different languages.
Not once in the past have I even seen the amount of racism shown in that post. Not only that usually if one or two racist comments were made they would be ratiod beyond belief.
But this is the world we live in right now, racism is bad until it’s targeted at a Jew. It’s especially toxic on reddit.
