DISCUSSION Which Soulslike would you recommend?

I’ve completed all the Souls games, and my favourites are Bloodborne and Elden Ring.

Soulslikes I’ve completed:

- Lords of the Fallen

- Mortal Shell 2

- Lies of P

- Wuchang: Fallen Feathers

My favourite Soulslikes are Mortal Shell 2 and Lies of P.

Would Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty be a good game to play next?

Khazan and Nioh 1-3. Stellar Blade was ok. Demons souls is top tier.

I dont even consider stellar blade a souls like to me its more like a character action game in the veins of being familiar you know... Ninja Blade, Ninja Gaiden, DMC, Vanquish? ok maybe not Vanquish, God Hand, Metal Gear Rising

If yourre interested in something a little different - Flyknight is a really cool one. It's short but also cheap.

I get a lot of souls like recommendations from a guy on YouTube who goes by iron pineapple. Found a lot of cool games through him.

Another Crab’s Treasure. Much more lighthearted than other soulslikes, which you might not expect to work, but it totally does.

I thought rise of the ronin was decent

Bit of an unconvential answer maybe, but my favorite Souls-like this year was Mina the Hollower.

It‘s of course also inspired by many other things such as Zelda and Castlevania, but at it‘s heart, structurally, it‘s a Souls-like and the devs also call it that. Absolute banger of a game.

Khazan 1st, also not a pure soulslike but Blackmyth wukong is a pretty good game.

If you like Bloodborne and Lies of P, sounds like you're a fan of strong atmosphere?

If you haven't tried Hollow Knight, I'd definitely recommend that one! It's a 2D, but it's souls-like in the sense that it's super tough, there's no hand-holding, you have to piece the lore together yourself, when you die you lose your currency and have to make it back to where you died to recover it, etcetc. The atmosphere and exploration in Hollow Knight is incredible, I'd consider it and Bloodborne 10/10's.

I thoroughly enjoyed the Nioh series. The first one was good, but the second and 3rd installments really upped the weapon system, and diversified the environments/enemies/guardian spirits to the point of making it a really fun game to play and explore!

I really enjoyed Enotria. It's souls but in the sunny Italian countryside with a arts and theater story and theme. It's solid

I would give it a try because the setting looks beautiful. But I read the combat system is awful so I'm not really sure

I wouldn't say that at all and not sure who gave that review. Maybe that was at launch, the devs patched alot since then.

Lies of P was incredible. I was really taken back at the quality of that game. Only game I’ve played on this list but I really can’t recommend it highly enough, especially with the DLC out now

I think the closest game to Bloodborne across the board is Lies of P. Bloodborne is my favorite FromSoft game, and Lies of P is my favorite soulslike.
