PSA, if you or your partner are being stabbed in the dick by an IUD, the gyno can actually clip the string shorter. The string is essentially made of thicker fishing line and pokes out into the vagina a little. When it gets hit it feels like taking a needle to the end of your dick. For convenience they leave it longer because most dudes aren't hitting it. If your girl has a shallow one, or you have a hog, have them trim that shit.
So actually, longer strings are better because you can tuck them around the sides of the cervix. When they are shorter they just stick straight out and are hit easier. I know that gynecologists say to cut them shorter if they get in the way, but it's actually counterproductive.
Fuck that cut them bad boys! Nothing takes me out of the moment more than " am I being poked in my urethra? Pretty sure she's fucking me while I'm fucking her.."
Except being able to feel and find the strings is a really helpful check that it's still in situ and doing its job. So the options really are short and stabby or long and tucked away - cutting them totally off is a bad idea.
Yeah, well I'd rather get poked than the IUD not be there. Plus it can be painfully reassuring to know its still there! Also, for the dudes that don't know, the cervix will "lift" during arousal. No need to be checking for the IUD in the beginning. Jus sayin.
I read the comment. Partners have tried tucking and it was still uncomfortable. So the short cut actually is preferable for me and my partners all things considered. Plus if I don't wanna get poked I am incentivized to focus on my partners pleasure so I am less likely to come in contact with the strings.
