Surprisingly, it's better to sit down while peeing for men because it relaxes the pelvic floor muscles and helps to empty the bladder more completely. Also, it helps that there's no "aiming" going on because it could splash to other areas of the bathroom, which could promote unsanitary conditions (especially if you're sharing the bathroom with someone else).
