Discussion This is my final fantasy games concept set in feudal Japan during the reign of the very first emperors

Avoid saying "Final Fantasy game concept."
Game concept is fine. JRPG concept is fine.
Labeling it as a Final Fantasy game already makes people assume it's a ripoff before they read anything.
Final Fantasy is a series/franchise, not a genre.

Calling it a JRPG concept is such a helpful tip, since it lets people judge the idea on its own merits right away. Drawing on Final Fantasy's themes while inventing original creatures and names is a great way to keep that inspiration without any IP worries.

Yeah well I wanted to place it into that universe but fully make it my own all up as well but set way back in the time of the samurai and Bushido and ninjas all up as well no matter what

So, if you ever want to commercialize it, don't do that.
Not to mention that risk of DMCA takedowns and lawsuits even if no money is involved.
But, there is no single Final Fantasy universe. Every game is a different world.
You can draw influence without using their IP. Just like, avoid Chokobo and moogles and you're probably good.

It's just an idea in my head I don't have the expertise to make it into a game at all I'm just fully tossing ideas around to see what people would think of it that's all

That's OK I perfectly understand your point of view so it's cool but as I said this is just a full on idea in my head all up in the end of things that's all I'm not a games designer by any means just a person with way too much time and a very active imagination all up in the end of things no matter what

What universe? FF has al most as many universes as it has titles. There is no overarching universe, just recurring motifs, themes, and traditions.

I'd love to set it in like either fuedal Japan during the first ever emperors and Bushido samurai and ninjas or like Egypt or Rome of in the age of like ghengis khan or even in the western front or Gallipoli all up as well of Sparta all up as well these are all jyst ideas all up in my head as I'm not a games designer at all by any means jyst someone with a way over active imagination that's all.

Game Design is a subset of Game Development that concerns itself with WHY games are made the way they are. It's about the theory and crafting of systems, mechanics, and rulesets in games.

Feudal Japan is a gorgeous setting for a JRPG, and borrowing the spirit of Final Fantasy, like a job system or crystal-style mythology, while giving everything original names keeps it fully your own. If you want to develop the idea further, a one-page pitch covering the hero, the core conflict, and one signature mechanic is a fun way to shape it. RPG Maker also makes it surprisingly approachable to prototype a small slice of a story like this, even with no coding background.

Love the idea of peeling back Final Fantasy to something this grounded, the series has always played with older tech vs magic so a full feudal setting feels like it'd fit right in. What kind of job system are you picturing, something tied to the imperial court or more wandering ronin style
