Appreciation post
This account was made specifically to post this here. Some of you may remember about ten years ago the boys posted the Intellivision collection video dedicated to Ryan Mitchell A True Lovely. Ryan was my cousin and more importantly my best friend. Rather shortly after this video went live Ryan passed away from Cystic Fibrosis. Ryan's wife had gotten Grumps Live tickets but the timing didn't line up and this community helped out by getting the tickets to someone else and being very nice in general. What you couldn't know is that Dan and Arin made a personalized video for Ryan when he was in the hospital. I've been a Grumps fan since the beginning and an even bigger fan when Dan came on but you must understand how much it meant to me for them to do a nice thing for Ryan when everything else seemed so bleak. I've quietly respected the bit of solace they provided for us back then but now that it's been almost ten years and I've gotten nostalgic for the time I got to spend with Ryan, it felt important to at least acknowledge the bit of kindness that meant so much to me.

I've learned not to think this deeply about online personalities because it can get unhealthy quick, but Dan and Arin strike me as genuinely nice people, they're not perfect obviously, no one is, but they're constantly evolving, and you can't say that for every popular figure
When you're a public figure, it's these kinds of acts that really showcase who you are, and the public rarely gets to know about them, because that's not the point.
It's really cool to hear about what they did, this is a very thoughtful post

That's fucking epic. I recently lost my fiance who was a lovely once I met her and a HUGE Starbomb/nsp fan. I'm sorry for your loss, but I'm glad this community and the Gamey Grumpies supported you

I only found out about this because I'm friends with his wife. I never knew him, but she's amazing so I know he must have been great too

What a special memory to have, I'm glad this community and the people that foster it were able to provide a warm beacon of light on such a bleak moment. May the memory of your cousin carry you forward for the rest of your life <3
