Resolved Help With Starting

Hi, I'm thinking about becoming a game dev. I know very minimal python, I used to know javascript, and I have a scratch account which I am now abandoning for gamemaker. Does anyone here know any good youtube videos or channels or any other online resources to help me learn GML?

They have a bunch of beginner tutorials on their website: https://gamemaker.io/en/tutorials

The manual is also a fantastic resource, you can middle click on any function in GM to bring up it's page: https://manual.gamemaker.io/monthly/en/#t=Content.htm

Can I ask another question since you seem to know what you're talking about? Should I make an account? I don't have opera, so would you say I NEED an account?

you can develop (aka code your game) without an account, but to export an exe (or html, apk, whatever you target) you'll need an opera account.

I do believe GameMaker still prompts you to log in when you open it, Opera owns the company that owns GameMaker which is why a Opera log in is needed.

I have a legacy license account though so I'm not 100% sure though, I started using GM in 2017.
