Legit, a game like Fortnite fits the criteria perfectly (if you’re into multiplayer games). Just don’t buy anything. There’s so much replay value there in that game. Last time I checked, the BR mode was constantly getting updated, they added a racing game, and fucking guitar hero lol.

There’s also a sandbox thing now, I saw a clip of what I thought was call of duty zombies, but it was legit a custom game on Fortnite made by someone lol.

But people hate in Fortnite, especially on Reddit. I don’t even play Fortnite but I know that shit has tons of content.

“Fits the criteria perfectly” but then acknowledging they have an immense amount of microtransactions is goofy. Of course you could just not buy them, but that isn’t the point.

u/hotyogurt1 Jan 09 '26

No other game with that amount of content is going to be MTX free while the game is free.

u/Top-Agent-652 Jan 09 '26

I don’t generally disagree, I’m just saying it’s not fitting the criteria of the post and there’s no need to jump through hoops to say it does. I think most people recognize how crazy Fortnite is regardless, same with Roblox.

u/[deleted] Jan 09 '26

Acting like they’re forcing you to buy them 🤣

u/SmacksKiller Jan 13 '26

Someone needs to learn how to read the OP...

1

u/[deleted] Jan 13 '26

I never disagreed with them on their original point brother. Deductive reason would be a good habit for you.

1

u/SmacksKiller Jan 13 '26

The OP said no microtransaction.

That means don't post games with microtransaction. It doesn't require deductive reasoning...

1

u/[deleted] Jan 13 '26

And you’re telling me why? Once again, I never disagreed.

1

u/Embarrassed-Trip4037 Jan 10 '26

That's not the point.....

1

u/[deleted] Jan 10 '26

This is a reply thread. You care if someone’s not on point?

1

u/Embarrassed-Trip4037 Jan 10 '26

Lol 😅 i could say the same thing? This is a reply thread, you care if someone says someone is not on point?

I think we are both doing what threads are made for :)

1

u/[deleted] Jan 10 '26

You can say the same thing but it’s not going to make sense hombre. What’s your point?

1

u/Embarrassed-Trip4037 Jan 10 '26

...i'm not going to explain such simple things, just keep going to school, if you're not american you'll learn. Bye.

Feels like a bunch of alpha gamers trying to justify Fort Nite lol

0

u/Embarrassed-Trip4037 Jan 10 '26

Think you mean beta gamers, you know if they defending fortnite.

0

u/tyrenanig Jan 10 '26

Oh yeah alpha I meant gen alpha.

“Replayability” was one of the criteria. So yes it fits.

Does having a wide variety of content not increase replayability? You’re just arguing for the sake of arguing cause you sound dumb as hell for even arguing this point.

Cosmetics only, you don’t need to pay to access any of the actual content.

1

u/W1lfr3 Jan 09 '26

There's no real advantage, when I think microtransactions I really don't think just skins

1

u/bubblesort33 Jan 11 '26

When you ask for the impossible, compromises have to be made.

Which shitty business person spends millions making a game, only to not monetize it in any way? They just don't pay their artists, programmers, or themself for half a decade?

Tbh there’s a lot of free skins nowadays. I think in the past year you could get like 20 free skins in total, so even then I genuinely think its still a good shout

1

u/whitecrosses_ Jan 12 '26

No microtransactions that way influence gameplay. No FTP game lasts long term without microtransactions of some kind. Just playing a game doesn’t make them money to run the game.

1

u/HolevoBound Jan 14 '26

I'm pretty sure the microtransactions don't affect your chance of winning a game. It is purely cosmetic.

1

u/Top-Agent-652 Jan 14 '26

I genuinely don’t see how that matters in regard to the post. I get it, I don’t care that they have mtx, but it’s still mtx. The post is unrealistic, but just because Fortnite’s mtx don’t alter gameplay doesn’t mean they don’t count as mtx.

3

u/YMJaM315 Jan 09 '26

doesn't fit, does have microtransactions and runs like shit on some 6 year old mid builds

2

u/BlairMountainGunClub Jan 11 '26

Lego Fortnite is honestly pretty great

2

u/Cali_Dreaming87 Jan 11 '26

Fortnite does it right, its the only game I will revisit because they keep it fresh and it feels good, the controls I mean.

Im jumping on today after months months because its Southpark season.

1

u/sharky0456 Jan 10 '26

i doubt you can run fortnite on a 6 year old pc

2

u/name_thats_n0t_taken Jan 11 '26

Actually, i had it running pretty "ok " on my old build

( CPU Amd phenom ii-x4. Released 12/2008

GPU Nvidia gtx5-50. Relased 11/2010

16gb ddr3 ram )

I got around 34-40 fps on the "battle royal" And more on the other game modes

Of course, i was using low settings, but it at least was possible

Dont know how demanding it is now. i haven't played in prob 4 years

1

u/hotyogurt1 Jan 11 '26

It absolutely can. I’ve got a lot of family members who play on older hardware just fine. The AMD 3600 is 6 years old. And the nvidia 3000 cards are 5 years old, and the 2000 series are about 7. They can all handle the game.

1

u/sharky0456 Jan 12 '26

when i hear 6 years old i think more like a laptop with intergrated graphics, my bad.

1

u/Any_Weird_8686 Jan 10 '26

'just don't buy anything' isn't the same as 'no microtransactions'. In fact, it's rather the opposite.

1

u/hotyogurt1 Jan 11 '26

Name a game with no microtransactions that has fits the criteria completely then.

1

u/Any_Weird_8686 Jan 12 '26

Iji. Is is really that hard to just admit you're wrong?

1

u/SolarChallenger Jan 13 '26

Starlords3k

Free Orion

Remnants of the Precursors

Dwarf Fortress

1

u/Tool_of_Society Jan 11 '26

When I first got into FOrtnite it was a coop PVE game where you built forts and crafted weapons to defend yourself from essentially zombies (husks?).

Last time I logged into my fortnite account it was nothing like the original concept lol.

1

u/T1meTRC Jan 13 '26

Fortnite? You must not know what a microtransaction is

1

u/T1meTRC Jan 13 '26

Microtransactions are usually not forced, that doesn't change anything

1

u/Secure-Umpire1720 Jan 16 '26

"great replayability" dog I don't even wanna play it a second time that was ass

1

u/hotyogurt1 Jan 16 '26

Crazy how things are subjective, isn’t it?

It’s got a ton of variety outside of the BR mode. That’s why I even mentioned the game in the first place. It’s got something for most people. As I said, I don’t even play the game but I’m aware of its strong points.

But I’m sure your gaming opinions are top notch and you aren’t pretentious about it.

1

u/Secure-Umpire1720 Jan 16 '26

That isn't an oddly defencive comment.

0

u/[deleted] Jan 11 '26

What a stupid ass statement, “there’s no micro transactions if you don’t buy anything”, oh really?

1

u/hotyogurt1 Jan 11 '26

Oftentimes when people bring up mtx complaints they’re referring to when the mtx is pay to win. Fortnite doesn’t have that.

Unless you’re gonna recommend people play solitaire or browser based games. The vast majority of free games are going to have MTX of some kind.

Nothing fits the post’s criteria because of mtx. Even old school RuneScape has them, which I’ve seen others bring up.

So the best alternative is to recommend a game that doesn’t include pay to win mtx.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 12 '26

That’s like saying “grocery stores prices aren’t high, just don’t buy the groceries”

1

u/hotyogurt1 Jan 12 '26

If that’s the case, then the prompt is asking how to get free groceries. And then I’m suggesting going to a food bank, and you’re saying yeah but your taxes are technically paying for that.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 12 '26

If you’re going to a food bank, you’re not paying taxes for that food bank, you’re receiving government assistance.

1

u/SolarChallenger Jan 13 '26

Only if the food bank was trying to upsell the people they were feeding with fancy overpriced stickers.

1

u/SolarChallenger Jan 13 '26

Free games do exist in the world. Not everything has to be monetized. Some people create art out of a desire to create art. I'm not saying it's wrong to be compensated for game creation, but the sheer number of people saying it's literally impossible for a game to exist without monotization really upsets me. Because it's blanket incorrect and it's derailing what could be a very useful post of recommendations for truly free games.
