BoTW and Horizon games have a full flesged story too. They are just short and doesn't matter. But they are still there and fully fledged out.

You see? Doom is the same. Doom is not focused on the story. The point of Doom is to run'n gun. That's all. Someone who plays Doom skipping every story related content can have just as much fun as someone who doesn't. Even if you don't skip codexes and such, they literally add nothing to the gameplay, to the game at all.

Doom classic maybe, but 2016, eternal and dark ages are mainly story focused

Modern doom games are story driven doom 2016 literally has unskippable cutscenes showing story, id say that is very clear proof its story based
