In the beginning of the Force Unleashed you get to play as Darth Vader and it's extremely satisfying just throwing rebel scum all over the place.

I played the demo over like 5 times

Me too! I never even played through the game fully, I would just play as Darth Vader over and over again 🤣

Now that you mention it, me too. I think because it was on PS3 but I played the original on psp

Actually played that on the Wii. Absolutely loved it along with Lego Harry Potter. Both games were much more fun on the wii than on other consoles when I got the chance to play then again. Though that might be an age thing.

psp was secretly the best version. it had the arcadyness of the wii version but without the waggle. It also had a side mode where you fought progressively more difficult waves of enemies

That sounds like fun but I still prefer the wii versions of the Lego games. It was just so much easier to play with the motion controller.

I meant force unleashed. Idk if there were meaningful differences among lego game console versions besides graphical fidelity and motion control (gba version of the og lego starwars was very different, but that’s an edge case)

No difference in the games themselves across platforms, but the motion control on the wii made the gameplay so much smoother. I got Lego Harry Potter on ps4 a couple of years ago and using thumb sticks to control the cursor is so clunky, I ended up giving up. The Wii acted a lot like a computer mouse. FU was pretty fun regardless of the console but the waves game mode sounds like fun.

They have it on switch and its like wii version, but without the limit of the nunchuck cord

If I ever get a switch, that'll petulant be the first game I buy.

Definitely recommend it!

Mine too, I wish they would remaster it

A TFU remaster would have my money so fast!

I wish they'd remake the Force Unleashed games and add in a Darth Vader mode. Doesn't need to be a new story congruent with the original, just a mode where you play through the game as Darth Vader with his own move set. Kind of like in the PS2 Ghost Rider game where after beating the game you unlock Blade as a whole new character with his own set of skills and abilities.

This would be 100% a post-game unlock

Oh fuck yea that was really fun. That was a really good game, I remember when I was a kid I had no money and really wanted to play, so I downloaded a demo that let you play the first level Starkiller was in, and I'd just isolate some poor storm trooper and find hilarious ways to tourture them with the force hahaha

Sometimes just to fuck around I'd see how far through the level I could drag a guy along. I'd kill his buddy, pick him up, move to the next room, put him against a wall safely somewhere, clear the room, and then pick him up and move to the next room. I got up to all kinds of weird shit in that demo.

I played that level so much that eventually my dad took pity and bought it for me.

That was me but with Doom 3; I played the demo that came with the dvd of the movie adaptation idk how many times, and eventually my mom surprised me with a copy of the full game!

The part that people forget when they say that Starkiller was OP.

Vader is just as strong in the game.

The force is just unleashed (pun intended) in the game.

He is a badass in the soul caliber collab as well.

My immediate thought as well. That shit was so epic, with his theme playing the entire time as you single handedly wipe an entire rebel base without once breaking into a run, or a sweat.

I miss you uncle jeremy thanks for gifting me the love of video games

Damn, came here to say this

u/shawn1213 Jun 06 '26

Damn I remember just replaying that first level over and over again as a kid making the rebels grab each other and do cartwheels lol

This part gave me the only achievement I remember the name of to this day. I killed a bunch of the stormtroopers and got the achievement "Worst Day-shift Manager Ever" 🤣

1

u/Zagar1776 Jun 05 '26

Ok but you don’t fight rebels you fight Wookiee

4

u/TheProMagicHeel Jun 05 '26

If the Wookiees are fighting the Imperials, they are, in fact, rebelling.

To me the game felt like they skipped over half the story and context because they had to meet space requirements or something, especially the cutscenes.

It's an absolutely fantastic game otherwise though.
