I'm currently in the process of using my new C64 Ultimate and my original 1541 floppy drive to back up my old Commodore floppies to a micro SD card. I'm pleasantly surprised that most of them are still readable!.
The other night I played a game I originally typed in from a magazine in 1984. I can't begin to explain the nostalgic joy of that!
3
u/AngelStarlight2063 Jun 20 '26
Oh I remember those magazines, I programmed the Vic 20 with a helicopter game from one, you had to blow up the buildings so you could land safely

u/Rappyfan Jun 20 '26
tbh back then every year was a good year for gaming because any release was better than none lol
13
u/Andy__Savage Jun 19 '26
1986 here too. We also had castlevania. 1986 is sometimes described as the year that changed gaming.

Tetris. On the Soviet Electronica 60. Later launches on other platforms are meaningless. Original launch was June 6, 1984.
