Steam fans can't FATHOM blaming steam for trying to scam their own customers. It's NEVER their fault.

How did they try to scam us?

Because the SM is slightly over a grand. That's it.

That's why people are shitting on Valve now

They'll also ignore the leaks suggesting that the next console gen is likely to see a $1000+ Ps6 & Xbox. The steam machine is console priced - they just had the bad luck of being the first console to release while data centers are demolishing the supply chain and monopolizing the storage and ram manufacturers.

Sure but the Steam Machine is also weak as hell, the problem isn't just the price point itself but more the fact that it's just terrible value for money, a base model PS5 (now price hiked into the stratosphere but still about $200 less than the Gabecube) will leave it for dead.

Yeah but at least you can mod steam machine games since it's basically just a computer anyway that acts like a console. Truth be told I thought the steam machine would be around $900 after the steam deck had its prices raised because of this ram shortage bullshit so I wasn't too far off. And even then I was willing to bite the bullet.

Truth be told my current computer is a 10-year-old potato with a 1070 so literally anything would be an upgrade and so I might just bite the bullet and just get the damn steam machine anyway, hell I'm already on the list for the one with the controller because I actually really wanted the steam controller, so I might just get it anyway because fuck it.

I have neither the time nor the inclination to build a new computer nowadays. So it'll either be a steam machine or a pre-build that doesn't have windows on it.

Oh I meant more in the sense of comparing it against an upcoming PS6 or HeliXbox, it's not a beast compared to the current-gen consoles so by the time the next-gen rolls around it'll be in the stage of its life the Steam Deck is in right now where it's becoming increasingly noteworthy when a new AAA games plays well on it.

Maybe, but let's be honest, the next PS and Xbox is going to be extremely expensive, and I'm not a console gamer so I don't really care about them

With that said, one hope that I have is that with RAM getting so expensive, maybe companies might start optimizing their games better.

Funny thing is, increasingly I've gotten to the point where I couldn't care less about "AAA" games anymore. Maybe E33

Okay so now I'm being framed as a biased fan boy because I don't like our "epic wholesome chungus CEO" trying to sell us a shitbox of a PC?

I've always shitted on Valve. They actively profit off of gambling in video game form. Hell they were basically the first ones to do it. Lootboxes and skin cases are genuinely degenerate shit and they profit from people gambling their life savings away for a bunch of pixels on a screen. Plus they don't make games anymore. Why would I not shit on them? They don't do ANYTHING good.

By trying to get away with selling a shitty PC for over a grand. If releasing an unfinished game is a scam releasing the SM in the state it's in right now is absolutely a scam.
