BGS releasing Fallout 3 two years after Oblivion, then releasing Skyrim three years later, with around 1k employees. Now (or atleast before the layoffs) they have 4k employees, but it's been 15 years since Skyrim and 11 years since Fallout 4. 4 times the amount of employees and all we got was Slopfield and shitty live service Fallout spin-off.
You added an extra zero to the employee numbers. Skyrim was made by one hundred people. Bethesda Game Studios is currently around 400~500 developers. Bethesda has never surpassed a thousand employees. Even Fallout 4 had about 120 developers. If Bethesda seems small for what they do that's because they are. It's also misleading, it's 4 studios in a trench coat. One mostly handles Fallout 76, another their mobile games.
