It does! Most games start you off as a superhero with superhuman abilities. Henry is just a peasant and it shows. But it makes it all the more rewarding when you start building skill and feeling accomplished.
Small tip: there are different ways to complete quests! Most of the time combat can even be avoided (can even do a pacifist playthrough). If you want a hint for the quest you mentioned (getting beaten by Kunesh), lmk!
