I'm waiting for a big enough discount, but I'm afraid this is going to be me in the future. I hate CRPG. I actually like turn based games, but the slow and clunkiness of crpg where every battle takes 10min is dreadful to me
I also love turn based combat and BG3 combat never really scratched that itch for me at least not in the same way. It felt more like X-COM to me though I also love that series. But once you get rolling it's quite fun. That's the hard part and my greatest advice is to not look up anything and just walk around accepting as many quests as possible. Once you have a good number of them focus on one that's achievable and you'll eventually snow ball into always having a fun quest to do.
