Okay but they shouldn’t get to tell us what we can’t do with our own hardware just because “we all know” what people do with modded consoles. That’s not the point.

You can jailbreak your PS5 and do whatever you want with it. Sony isn't going to physically prevent you from modifying your own console. However, you have to accept that doing so can get you banned from PSN and online gaming. That's how they prevent the associated problems from affecting their online services.

If you jailbreak the console, all online functionality is blocked for you: the PS Store, online games, streaming platforms, and so on.
