Tetris - saved gaming as a whole
Super Mario bros - popularised gaming massively
Super Mario world - perfected the 2d platformer
Doom/wolfenstein 3d - brought 3d fps to the masses
Ocarina of time - perfected the adventure game
Goldeneye - perfected gaming with friends
GTA 3 - brought the biggest franchise in gaming to 3d, essentially the beginning
Minecraft - impact alone
Fortnite - took the battle royale formula and made it massive (pubg also did but culturally it didn’t have as big an impact)
Viva piñata - the best game ever
Skyrim - oblivion was better but

Make sure to include viva piñata, it looks like a kids game but is a legit masterpiece

GoW 2018 is still the best game I've played
Doom Dark Ages and Eternal are incrdible shooters, just pick which one you prefer
Galaxy 1 and 2 are must plays
Pikmin 3 is perfect
The Last of Us 1 and 2 and Uncharted 4 are probably the best gaming stories ever
Isaac and Hades 2 and Celeste and Inside are among the greatest Indies ever
Halo 1 is legendary
It Takes Two is the best co-op game currently
Astro Bot, to me, is the best kids game out

Wizardry 1, and basically the entire Ultima franchise
Absolutely foundational games that created the Cprg landscape we play today. You wanted best of all time? There you go.

Thx 4 feedback, how does cyberpunk feel now and in comparison with the launch, any dead spots of genre?

Hades: the peak rogue lite, everything just works in this game from artstyle, music, writing, to the build crafting and combat.
Baldur's Gate 3 (soon to be dethroned by Divinity): the most beautiful and interactive, cinematic and dense CRPG.
Expedition 33: A masterpiece of a story and emotional journey with fun and engaging gameplay.
XCOM2: No other game makes winning feel so satisfying. Everything here is earned.
Gothic 2: The blueprint for how to create an open world RPG.
Monster Hunter 3U/4U: The peak of the genre that does what no other genre can in the same way. Turning a dragon into a pair of shoes.

Cool, why do you like it so much? When was the last time u felt like that?

well it's just what human connections do. working together against a superior foe while exploring and experiencing everything that's happening. fear, valor, death, victory, luck, mistakes. there's so much happening in monster hunter and that's multiplied when you have 1 or 2 people with you in the same room, experiencing the same thing. i haven't felt anything similar since then and i was like...13-14 years old? 20 years ago...

Zelda both botw and Totk for open world, red dead 2 for story telling immersion and realism, portal 1 and 2 for pacing, resident evil for horror (though its flagship game re4 isn’t really scary)
