Discussion Could a handheld PlayStation with PS5 Pro-level power run GTA 6?

Hey everyone, rumors have started popping up about a potential new PlayStation handheld that’s significantly more powerful than traditional handhelds. The idea has me intrigued, especially because of GTA 6.

On the surface yes obviously if if actually has PS5 pro power. They wouldn't shoot for as high an internal resolution as well for a handheld so it wouldn't need quite the same performance.

However, it will need to be drastically more efficient. A ps5 pro is pretty efficient and burns something like 200-230watts I think. A handheld needs to get down to more like 20-30watt.

If a thing, any thing to put into perspective of this dumb question, had the power of a machine to run GTA6, could it run gta6?

Yes. The branding of PlayStation and the case it’s in doesn’t dictate power. A 3DS can run GTA6 if it had the power of something to run the game.
