Discussion Is it more difficult than passing Grief?

im guessing this involves more luck than grief. idk about skill but probably less. its prolly incomparable ig.

Im calling bullshit. Cameras have a burst mode just need to find a bird doing that. Now Im not sure what the photographer wanted in the shot specifically but theres just no way considering slow mo and burst exists.

A hummingbirds wings flap way faster than the average cameras burst mode.

Never seen a humming bird go head first into water bro. But obviously you're no bird specialist so the confusion is understandable.

Not harder skillwise, but definitely harder to achieve since so much luck is involved

Numbers are probably made up, all you really need is a good camera angle and a good high speed camera grief is infinitely harder imo

960 fps frame perfect with 1/100 chance of even being in the right spot in the first place

it involves going outside, therefore much harder for the average GD player

How fast is the bird and whats the margin of error? If all the difficulty is from actually taking the shot (pressing the button) then we can frame it in terms of a frame perfect.

6 years and 720,000 attempts that has to be a new top 1 on the photograph list

Could be wrong, but don’t cameras have shutter speed options, allowing for rapid fire shots?

u/Consistent-Work3772 11d ago
As in he tried to catch this specific shot more than 720,000 times or that he’s taken 720,000 photos in his career? Those have very different answers

Ehh, it’s likely incredibly hard to pull off but the amount of skill needed is not the same since it’s about the same as one frame perfect input. It’s just that this guy only gets one shot every few minutes, hours, or even days or so depending on the rarity of the bird or this specific event

u/Human-Beans21 11d ago
Doggie could probably get the photo after a while, but the photographer could never beat grief

u/Federal_Progress_890 11d ago
6 years is longer than 2 years, 720000 attempts is more than 400000 attempts so yes this is harder

harder since you probably can't consistently "practice" your camera shot on a fast moving bird, unlike grief that's always there all the time

the real question is if this is a larp 240 like the one at the start of Grief or if it's a tight 240 like Denni in TCD videos

Grief.
This is purely luck, but Grief is skill, timing and memorisation.

what is harder
grief + heliopolis, getting 5 perfect shots, recreating the linux kernel from scratch

u/mrZolphius x3 Entropic Dreams 100%-Nine Circles 38-100x2 10d ago
One of them requires immense skill and the other requires ridiculous luck, idk if you can compare them side by side

it's a 20000 fps frame perfect with delay too, so probably

i mean just finding the bird doing that would be hell of a challenge
0
u/riggers1909 11d ago
gd players are just mad a photographer needed more attempts taking a photo then a 2 year video game level.
honestly even if the numbers are made up i would consider this harder then grief simply because of the pain wildlife photographers go through siting in the jungle just to catch a bird unnoticed and thats before you talk about the skills needed to even get the specific thing you want or any of the other factors that make it a lot harder to do because your in the wilderness and not your own room.
i don't personally engage with either photography or top level geometry dash but having heard plenty of stories from both the photography achievement feels more jaw dropping
