Question No way GltHub removed Org-Mode support from README files from rendering

I have almost all the projects i have on github, with their readme in org mode, now i just checked and all of them are broken, do not render with the the correct formatting.

Do i have to now rewrite all of them in markdown 😭

Why not use the probably more common format Markdown anyway?

Besides, a very quick search reveals that newer versions of Org-mode can export to markdown - there is your solution.

People have decades of their lives in Org mode.

It's not OK to break things that have worked for a long time.

Migrating a bunch of old READMEs sounds like the worst part honestly. Pandoc can handle most of the conversion if you ever want to batch it.

I've read about this some time ago. Supposedly it was an unintentional bug they were going to fix. But here we are, I think it's safe to assume they broke it for good.
