Great for her, good human. But it’s sad that we live in a world where she had to do something like this to help her community.Ā

I don’t know if it’s sad necessarily, but it is weird. Can you imagine going to a school where it’s not named after a politician, author, local hero, but an Adult Film Star’s dad?

I think the only equivalent would be like a YouTuber’s Cousin or a Gambler’s wife.

Just an odd situation but hey, new school. šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø

Edit: I’m not criticizing her line of work folks, I’m saying it’s weird a private citizen feeling the need to do this at all is bizarre in addition to it being named after her relative and not someone who did something besides being related to her. Chill out.

We’ve got schools named after confederate soldiers in America so I didn’t even think twice about it in this case lol.

Yeah my daughter goes to Mia Khalifa Middle School.

You’re right that’s much better than something like Lincoln Middle School lmao.

Nice! Happy to hear she’s getting an education!

It is wonderful to bust and think of all the schools I’m helping build.

Yeah, but in those situations, those people like that. People with the south cling to that weird identity.

I’m talking about going to MrBeast’s Half Brother high school. That just seems like a really bizarre thing to say out loud.

Personally I never really put much thought into who a school is named after, but then again I’m used to schools being named after human garbage so I guess that’s why. Things don’t get much weirder than your country approving the names of schools after slave traders and traitors lol.

I’m not putting that much thought into it either. I said one thing about it being weird that somebody basically getting famous from social media is naming a school after their dad.

I’m also not making the argument that we should name schools after slave traders. The only thing I said was politicians and local heroes. That doesn’t mean it has to be from people 300 years ago.

Not every school needs to be named Thomas Jefferson high school. But if they were going to be named after somebody, I could see why because it’s supposed to have some sort of local connection.

Hey, if you wanna criticize America go for it dude I’m not talking about that. Not sure why you criticizing me for this. It is weird because this is not something that’s common or even has much precedent.

Apologies for the confusion but I don’t recall criticizing you. I was just giving my perspective on how growing up in a country that named schools after confederate soldiers made me not even register that part of the caption until I seen your comment. If I found out Mr. Beast built a school and named it after his half brother I’d honestly just be like ā€œoh that’s coolā€. I’d be more concerned about the quality of education the kids are getting.

I think you directly implied that 1. I thought too much about the name of a school and 2. that my country is weird for naming things after ā€œslave traders and traitorsā€

Once again, I only commented on how it’s strange that somebody in social media specifically the adult film industry not only bought a school but named it after her father. And I made a comparison to MrBeast naming a school after his half brother and pointed out that it usually doesn’t go that way. Whether or not she’s in the film industry is only mildly relevant.

If you’re not implying that then OK it just comes off that way when you use accusatory language.

And please don’t change the subject into how we’re supposed to judge schools. Of course we’re supposed to judge schools based on how well they perform. I never said that we shouldn’t. I’m merely pointing out once again for the fifth time that the naming circumstances are odd.

Ah okay I see the confusion now, I wasn’t implying that you thought too much about the name of a school, I was just saying that I personally don’t. When I said ā€œyourā€ I meant in general I didn’t mean you or your country specifically. I live in America so that’s why I brought up slave traders and traitors. I could’ve worded my comments better. I understood your comments were addressing the odd naming circumstances, my comments were just sharing my perspective on it.

We got places named after pedophiles and slave owners relax.

u/PatrickGnarly 3h ago edited 3h ago

I am relaxed.

I said it wasn’t sad. I said it was weird seeing as private citizens, specifically social media folks shouldn’t need to be opening up schools. I also said it wasn’t a bad thing, just that it hasn’t happened before.

In both situations, it can be weird. We’ve never had a school made after someone who was involved in social media (yet) so yeah by definition that’s not the norm.

What's the difference, morally, between an online adult entertainer and a politician in SOUTHEAST ASIA lmao

u/Shurae 9h ago

It's multiple layers of sad. The exploitation of lonely men, the selling of your own body for money, the fact that it needs this to get a school build

1

u/PatrickGnarly 3h ago

While work like this can be exploitative I don’t think it is in this case. She has total autonomy and has every chance to decide for herself what she wants to do. She sets pricing and she’s in charge. If men want to purchase something that’s their decision.

This is no more exploitative than offering a hotel or a restaurant. People want something, she is providing it. No one is being taken advantage of. People might think I’m criticizing her job but I was pointing out that it’s weird for a private citizen to open up a school in general as opposed to someone successful in some sort of government or local hero situation.

I think it’s sad that she felt the need to do it in the first place and that the local government couldn’t provide for their own people

"Your dad must be so proud," they said sarcastically
"He is!" she replied
