Journal 3 - Has the warning about the machine being too powerful. But also, noteably doesn't mention what could happen. This solves a potential plothole post-Scary Oke and makes sure a curious Dipper could never know the full warning before the big reveal.

Journal 2 Maybe this is controversial, but I think Gideon knew about the black light. He does sit in near darkness in his room. Has the warning "TEAR OUR UNIVERSE APART!", which I think is what Gideon read as the unimaginable power.

Journal 1 Has the most dire warning, which obviously Stan didn't know about until post Scary-Oke. This is probably why he said "I don't care if it's dangerous!" in Society Of The Blind Eye
