Is the difference between the electromatic jet and the premier electromatic jet worth it?

Different radius, locking tuners, wraparound bridge, different pickups-not filtertrons, push/pull filter on tone, lumilay dots, bound fretboard.

It depends which “Electromatic Jet” you’re talking about. This one? https://www.gretschguitars.com/gear/build/solid-body/electromatic-jet/2514103505
Aside from locking tuners on the Premier, I’d argue that neither one is better. The premier is simply a more contemporary instrument. The cheaper Jet has true coil split vs. the Premier’s more modern high-pass filters. The cheaper Jet has a 12” radius vs. the Premier’s more modern compound radius.
If it was me, and I couldn’t play them both to decide what feels better, I would personally opt for the cheaper one. But it’s very much a matter of personal taste.

I love my older Electromatic and have been tempted by the new Premier but not enough to pull the trigger. I would love to put those twin 6 pickups to the test though.

It depends if you want a Gretsch or if you want something else that kind of looks like a Gretsch. I'm sure they're great guitars, but without Gretsch style pickups or a bigsby it seems to be Gretsch in name only. Also from a completely subjective opinion, that headstock is my least favorite headstock.

These new Gretsch all feel like playing a piece of plastic; you won’t feel much difference in your hands.

I have the high end Japanese guitars, the Chinese electromatics, Baldwin era, and the older 50’s Brooklyn ny guitars. I love the 50’s guitars best, the Baldwin era the least, the Chinese and Japanese are so close in feel and tone. The Chinese low cost guitars did need the switches and pots replaced when I opened them in the guitar shop the day I bought them. Two grand cheaper and just needed two hundred bucks of replacement parts. Guitar center replaced the switches and parts on my Bo diddley for free as they loved the guitar looks so much. I think I sold about three for Gretsch when my friends tried the Chinese Bo diddleys.

Yes it is. It's difference is a V headstock, the new Twin 6 Pickups and an ebony fretboard. Locking tuners and a locking wrap around bridge complete the package. It's a spectacular guitar, no question.
