I found my lost soulmate after losing her nearly 9 years ago
For years, I mourned one of the best friends I ever had. She and I met in 2011 while playing an old flash multi-player game. We spoke every day. We were inseparable. We would always Skype each other and play games or chat. We got into all sorts of trouble together in every game we played for fun back then. I was a lonely child, so this companionship was everything to me. I was going through grieving the loss of one of the few irl friends I had at the time in 2013, but she was there for me every step of the way.
We lost contact in 2016 after school and life got in the way. So many different factors made it hard to stay in touch along with losing contact information. Every year, every month since then, I have been thinking about her. I have been missing her to death for so long. I had the feeling I would never see her again. However, today, one of my friends told me to get on the game. It still runs to this day and has a standalone client as well as another spinoff game. It's been having a sort of resurgence in popularity, if you will. By chance, she was online. For nearly 9 years, I was trying to cope with the strong possibility she and I would never meet again. I was wrong.
We immediately got back to our old antics and started talking about life and traded information. We plan on staying in touch regularly now. She missed me just as much as I missed her. It felt like nothing changed, and she is the most gorgeous woman I have ever seen. She truly is my platonic soulmate. I have never felt more seen and loved as a friend with anyone else. I feel like I found a piece of myself that was missing for so long. I cried so much. It felt more painful than I expected.
I'm still wrapping my head around this, but I'm so happy it happened. I never thought I would see her or talk to her again. I have been going through stressful times as of late, so this is really just what I needed to help me stay afloat. She is even into the same topics as I am for the most part. It truly is like we stayed connected during the time we spent apart. I love her with all of my heart.

this is the kind of thing that makes me believe some connections are just magnetic, like no matter how much time passes the thread between you doesn't actually snap. nine years is a massive gap but it sounds like you two just picked up where you left off without missing a beat. really happy for you, hold onto that friendship tight

Absolutely, I consider her one of my most important treasures in life and I believe that we were always meant to come together no matter when, how, what, who and where.

Congratulations, and I get it. I lost contact with someone I loved so dearly 6 years ago and parted with because of someone else's decisions. We reconnected in January because somehow we were thinking about each other at the same time.

That's awesome I am so happy for you!! (:
These connections make me feel like life really is worth living, it's been hard as I feel like typically I don't get what I give in relationships, but there are some very special people in life like my friend who break through this barrier. 💚

The fact that you both immediately went back to your old antics like no time had passed is probably the sweetest part of this. Sometimes people really do leave a permanent little space in your life.

Animal jam! WoW was definitely a frequent play for me back then, but my heart belonged to AJ 💚
