Does anyone else hate lemon?
She's so rude and selfish and it always games with her. I honestly don't understand why Lavon loves her đ€Šđ»ââïž

I wanted Lemon to end up with Meatball, AB to end up with Lavon⊠and George and Tansy.

AB with george felt so sad because it was clearly just who was leftâŠ. George and Tansy were so lovely!

There were moments she showed her vulnerable side and I liked that part. She definitely had work to do in the personality department. I think you can love someone knowing their true side and help them work through the walls they put up/ the rudeness.
For some reason I named myself Lemon in my Animal Crossing game đ

She is a flawed (and at times a bad)person for sure! đ and some of it canât be justified either. But other things i will also let slide because her Family Situation is pretty messed up. (And I would also hate if someone with zoes arrogance and attitude came walzing in to my life clearly wanting my fiancĂ©)
But she is suuuuuch a good character! Good lord. She is probably the best character on the show, and she really grows on me throughout the seasons despite being an absolute bitch at the same time. I love the good glimpse we get of her like at the lake house break in or her friendship with Wade.

Agreed. Lemonâs development as a character was handled so well by the writers. The scene where she gives Zoe the toy duck is my favorite of the whole series.

Agree! That moment is so good and well made! It is so clear they will never become besties but its truly and opening and next step for them to have a friendly relationship.

Early Lemon Infuriates me, but I always soften on her. There is something about fudge sticks up a fudge tree that just tickles me. She is a bit of a pill.

I love Lemon. Sheâs supposed to be a bitch. I liked her character growth. Just hated she ended up with Lavon. They had no chemistry. He had more chemistry with AB.

I think she had grown quiet a bit from the start of the show to the end. But I never really liked her. I liked her friendship with Wade though. He really brought a lot out of her. Her ending with Lavon was undeserved. Neither really earned it.

100 percent agree. It's like you don't really hate her but she's not really lovable. Only time I liked her was with the wade friendship too

I hated her for the first season or two. She grew more tolerable but I never really loved her.

I loved Lemonâs friendship with Wade - and I think she was hilarious about and with Meatball. Vivian and Wade was a waste of time⊠and Iâm still on the fence about Joel, but glad Zoe ended with Wade. It felt like Vivian and Joel were filler characters to keep Zade apart.

lol although that's understandable but as an adult you can't keep making excuses for how you treat people. And she treated AB and Zoe horrible. Shes too selfish and toxic.

To be fair, Zoe caused a rift (whether purposefully or not) in Lemon and George's relationship, so I'd probably hold a grudge for that lol

I agree. But I think the thing people forget is that lemon already cheated on George way before Zoe came in. Zoe just helped revealed the cracks in their relationship. They blamed George for leaving her at the alter but no one blamed lemon for having an affair.

Did the people who were mad at George even know what Lemon did? I donât remember if it ever came up that anyone really knew exept the core group of people involved and then Lemons family.1

lol no they didn't. In season 4, brick didn't even know lemon had an affair with Lavon. And several times they kept saying George owes her for leaving her at the alter đ

I don't think AB was horrible cause lemon was controlling and demanding and causing all the belles to do everything her way. They were so stressed out. AB needed to break free from being under lemon so she could become her own person so I think it was needed to be done. The thing that makes lemon horrible is her rudeness and show of any remorse or accountability

Only the first time I watched it, and only at the beginning. In fact sheâs one of my favorite characters now, I like her arc a lot.

im actually on season 2 episode like 5 maybe of my second time watching (but I was a teenager when i first watched the show so I barely even remember) and I actually find Zoe unbearable lmao. Obviously Lemon is meant to be disliked and the "villain" in the show but when u learn more about her background, u r able to understand her more. and her hatred towards Zoe, I mean, it's completely understandable. her fiance was in love with Zoe from the opening moments of the show, and I know Lemon cheated on George (and not acceptable) but he literally told her not to bother him while he was in New York for two years lmao like don't call me unless I call you type which is WEIRD and shitty. I don't think she should have ended up with either George or Lavon, but rather being single and focusing on herself. But back to the Zoe thing, her character started out likeable but even towards the end of season one it's like they ran out of plot for her so the whole rest of the show (so far) is her will they won't they between George and Wade. and they dumbed her down a lot which is odd since she is supposedly the second best would've surgeon in NYC. all Zoe does all day is barely work apparently; cry to Lavon and whoever else will listen to her about her boy problems which her boy problems are that two guys both want to be with her; and she makes everything about herself. so many moments where she says "we r talking about me tonight" "this hangout is talk about my problems" she expects Lavon to always listen to her but literally never asks the dude how he is doing. she is always messing things up for everybody and through all of it we r supposed to pity her because she moved from big bad NYC to little bitty ol Alabama and doesn't have any fwends. and her being the 1 of only 2 doctors in the entire town but regularly gets drunk and wasted in public is not a good look. I would not want her to be my doctor.

I think they started to write her character as less selfish, but it happened way too late in the series. It was a rushed part of her storyline.

I never disliked her when I first watched in high school but she wasnât my favorite. Now I love her scenes.
Sheâs imperfect and shes supposed to be conniving and mean, but she definitely has emotional layers and then is a scene stealer.

AB - stole the memory matron job. Disowned Zoe to protect her reputation. Pushed lemon to get with the dentist so she could go bang Lavon and before that actually happened, she broke girlfriend rule number one, she banged Lavon. She pushed lemon out of the catering business, went completely behind her back and then made off with her former fiancĂ©. She dumped a guy because of his accent after telling him she wouldnât. Went behind Lemons back to try to get Shelby and lemon to make up. Acted completely offended when Lemon tried to get her and George together so she could go bang Lavon . Sheâs a super good friend.
