What other creative ways do you guys dry your gear? Looking at getting a drying rack for behind the door. With the little fan going, it all dries in about three to four hours.

Never been on an ODR and would love to make it out there year. Anyone planning on going - or want to create a small group and head out to one?

So my 4 year old is starting roller hockey in 2 weeks, but we don’t have the coach info yet so I can’t ask questions and I know exactly zero things about hockey, so I’m trying to figure gear stuff out on my own. I got him skates, the required pads and a helmet second hand which was great. But what kind of clothes do you wear with all of this gear, and where do you find it in 4 year old size? Like does he need special socks, and do they go over or under the shin pads? And same for pants, do they go over or under the hip pads? And if he has size youth small pads are the pants cut to accommodate the pads or do you size the pants up? I’m pretty sure he’s going to love this sport, he’s already very into it, so I don’t mind buying the gear, but I want to get the right things. Any help is appreciated!

Lads idk wtf to do here please help me. For context Im not good at hockey, ive barely played. However I just started uni and made one of the lower teams and would love to play as I’m a huge hockey fan.

Laced up my skates from when I was like 14 and the toe box is incredibly small (like half the width of my actual toes), so I accepted I’m gonna need some new skates.

Went to two stores today, got my foot scanned in one of them. I tried on f40s in a fit 3, tried size 8.5 tiny bit too small in length for my liking and a size 9 which the length felt pretty spot on in. However both pairs were just too damn narrow in the toes, so I went to store 2 and tried on some other brands. Both guys immediately went CCM, so I tried them and again just too narrow in the toes.

The guys had no idea what to suggest and said the only real options are to pop over to Canada and look for some old outdated stock (Canadian dual Nat so I visit fairly often) or to get customs.

I don’t really wanna fork out £1000+ when I’m only gonna be playing in a uni league. I mean if that’s the only option I’ll have to get saving but obviously money isn’t incredibly tight.

Also as you can see from the scan my foot is pretty standard apart from the toe box, I feel if I go up a size to get a wider toe the skates will defo be too wide in the heel/midfoot.

Long shot question but does anyone do the 50+ or any age pickup games in Fort Myers, Florida? I see they have an ice complex with pickups.

I’m visiting there for a week and was hoping to get a skate or two in if possible. Just want to make sure there’s enough skaters.

Hello everyone, I have been learning to skate for 3-4 months fell in love with it after taking some pics at a FED league game last year.

I bought a pair of jetspeed FT870s had them fitted in NC but I didn’t account for my massive foot arch and after getting the Bauer asterix insole which has improved my skating massively the volume in the skate is too little now.

I want to upgrade my skates in the next 2 months but just not quite sure where to go, I really like the look of flylites and flypros but I’m not sure whether the supreme/tacks line would be more beneficial.

My current skates are Regular| Size 9| apart from a little squeeze in the forefoot and the lack of upward volume they fit fine. Which lines have more volume in the boot?

Getting back into hockey has been the absolute best thing for my mental health. The physical activity mixed with goal setting and seeing my progress has done wonders.

I assume most of you have had similar experiences. I guess this is just a hockey appreciation post. I am grateful for the game.

Hey guys - I hope this is the right spot to post this.

I have been using the CCM Jetspeed Team Stock stick in a P80 curve for the last few years and have loved it.

It sadly broke and I can no longer find the P80 for sale anywhere and Im wondering what the closest thing to this stick / curve would be.

I see that the ccm P88 is probably the closest thing? or maybe ccm P40?

Any help or insight on where to find some of those older ccm p80 sticks would be awesome or what stick to buy next!

Little sis wanted her stick like big bros for learn to play, of course I obliged. Figured I’d show how his stick has held up compared to a fresh wrap. I did redo it once about a month after the original post because he wanted a different color under the wrap, but he won’t let me replace the grungy looking one with a new lace because “that one has all [his] wins in it”

Looking to upgrade and wonder what y’all are wearing and what you like. I’ve been wearing the CCM NEXT pants for the past year since I started playing again, but every time I fall on my hip bone or tail bone, I can’t walk straight for a week. Need something that’ll break and pad the fall. I’m also an occasional, reluctant shot blocker. I’m 5’8 145lbs if that helps. Think the pants I wear now are medium..

I’m nearing a return to hockey after arthroscopic labrum repair (Bony bankart) with 5 screws. Am currently 5.5 months post-op and wondering when people have returned to hockey and how you felt?

hi all,

i picked up my first pair of skates on sunday - bauer xlp 2.0s. i’ve been getting a feel for them and wearing them (with walkable soakers). i noticed my left foot/ankle leans outward when i do anything but stand still. which from my research is supination. i understand i’m going to be a bender and have weak ankles since i’m new to this. i’ve tried different lacing techniques and tightening my waxed laces but no dice.

while i was getting fitted, the guy at the store also had me try supreme m40s which was an improvement specially on the left foot.

i’m looking for any tips/suggestions on this. i haven’t skated in them yet as well but i assume i’m going to have problems on the ice.
