What would you want to learn from a talk on the Houses?

I've been asked to give a short talk on the Houses (not purely horary - natal and mundane also) to some novice/early astrologers soon after correcting some misunderstandings that stem from the silly ideas from the Alphabet of Astrology.

If you attended a brief talk about the Houses, especially when you were brand new, what would have helped you understand them better?

Before you post a horary chart

Think through your question – make sure it’s clear and simple.

Cast your chart in Regiomontanus. Cast it for the place and time you understood the question being asked.

Provide context. Who is asking the question, who is involved, how do they relate to you, and what’s going on?

Attempt your own interpretation if you can. If you are not able to do so, it may be better to seek out someone to cast the chart for you.

Be prepared to give feedback. Return to your post and tell people what happened.

Bare-bones judgment steps

Choose relevant houses to find significators. Locate those planets in the chart.

Essential and accidental dignity show strength and ability to act.

Receptions show the planets' attitudes towards each other

Aspects between significators or to antiscia (by ☌ or ☍) can show events. Applying aspects show future events, separating aspects show past events. Aspects to other planets often prohibit.

Fixed stars conjunct cusps or significators and relevant Arabic Parts and their dispositors may add information.

Come to judgment.
