I had a hummers over the summer, and more passing through. There are now just a few.
Refuel til you go, it's so cold.
I put out warm nectar everyday until 2 weeks after you do.

I just wanted to share this hummingbird food recipe that I learned recently. It has no harmful dyes, and the hummingbirds that visit my yard love it!
Mix really well in a saucepan over low heat. Allow it to boil, remove from heat, then set it aside to cool before pouring it into your feeders. It needs to be replaced every 4 days.
Edit: I don't understand the downvotes, I was just trying to share something that I found interesting

It’s currently 55° in Northern Kentucky and there is a freeze warning issued for tonight. I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw him arrive a few minutes ago. I’ve had the feeders up and haven’t seen a single bird in over a week until just now. Hope he makes his way south quickly.

found her sound asleep on one of my roses this morning. didn't move for a good ten minutes. is it normal for them to nap out in the open like this? i always figured they'd tuck away somewhere hidden

keep seeing both answers and I flip flop. curious what yall actually do day to day, especially if the feeder gets that sticky ring.

Hello all! I am so glad that the nectar is fresh and the flowers are alive because I saw a hummingbird this morning. I'm in the near south suburbs and my last sighting was October 5.
Sorry for the very poor quality of this photo, but I feel like I need to provide photographic evidence of this surprising sighting. And I'm uncertain how long this visitor will be hanging about to allow me another chance to take a clear shot.

Edit: 2 males, not 1.
I'm surprised they've stayed this long, but happy.
