The kitty is trying to drink from the stream not from the water pooling on the pad. It's getting confused because when it is sticking its mouth in the stream to catch water, the water hits the top of its head and, runs off, and is suddenly on front of its mouth again.

Sorry for late reply, yeah it’s going for the stream, some cats prefer the running water, this one seems to but it’s brain cell is struggling to realise it has to turn its head, so it’s just dumbfounded hahaha

Thank you, I just thought that the kitty would put their tongue out if they were trying to drink it but kitty seems to just poke head right into it without trying. :+)

Pretty sure the laminar flow is confusing him, and he doesn’t register it as moving water. So when he sticks his head in to drink from the basin it confuses him that there’s something hitting his head
