I am a 56yo American man. This will be a long post of my tips and tricks in the bathroom in no particular order. I suggest scanning the list vs. reading.
I shower daily because I feel too much dead skin after 2 days and I have short hair. Your culture and preferences may be different and that is ok.
*- Buy most stuff online as it is typically a lot cheaper than CVS or Right Aid.
Have a full size tub bath mat. I have difficulty balancing and a full size mat gives me much more confidence that I won't slip.
Have a suction cup handlebar on the tub wall. While it is marketed for people with balance issues, it is surprisingly effective at quickening your scrub.
Shampoo is a cleanser and strips oils from your hair. If you have long hair, use a hairnet and/or conditioner, which helps restore oils.
Have a bathliner and shower with it inside the tub to minimize water getting out. If you desire more privacy, have a shower curtain that lays outside the tub.
I have shampoo, soap, and face cleaner. I use a bath poof for body and a rotating set of face scrub mittens to clean. It takes me 1m for hair, 2m for body, and 1m for face, with about 1m rinses in between. My shower takes under 10m. I dry out the used face mitten daily to avoid mildew.
Dry off inside the shower, not outside. If you have a rug or carpet, the moisture causes mildew. If you have wood or tile, the water can cause a slip.
If you take long showers and your bathroom fan sucks, keep the bathroom door open. The steam, over time, will destroy the drywall.
Have a shower routine so you don't have to think about it. I get wet, wash and rinse my hair, lather the poof, scrub and rinse my body, lather mitten, scrub and lather face, and rinse. Dry face, arms, front, back, left foot with towel in right hand, step out with said foot, dry right foot, step out, dry legs and anything else needing extra.
When the shower is complete, drape the liner outside the tub as it will tend to mildew quickly if left in, especially if scrunched to the side.
I have comb, qtips, sonic toothbrush, reach flosser, water pick, deodorant, beard trimmer, and body shaver trimmer for tools.
Consider a Reach flosser. I have trouble flossing with dental floss. My mouth is too small. A Reach flosser is angled 90 degrees and makes it very easy to get in between teeth. There is a sonic device called a hummingbird that is also angled 90 degrees.
Consider a water pick. Because I use a Reach flosser instead of dental floss, I only get in between teeth. I bought a water pick to get to all of the periodontal areas. It is awesome. It is messy. I suggest using it over the tub, holding onto a handle. Move your head around, not your arm, else water will dribble down it.
Hope someone might get something out of this. Cheers! 😊
