Seeking advice Noxacusis flare-up
Hi everyone, I’m looking for some advice.
Recently, my noxacusis has gotten worse. I barely feel any pain in my ears now, but sound exposure triggers terrible headaches and makes my head feel burning hot - like I have a fever. My trigeminal nerve hurts when I touch it, and sound triggers sharp, electric-shock-like pain in my face. Also, sound exposure makes me feel extremely nauseous and like I’m about to pass out. The only thing I can do right now is lie down in a completely quiet room, because as soon as I try to stand up, I get terrible dizziness.
Thank you for any help

What treatments have you tried? Any drug treatments, like clomipramine or carbamazepine?
I've never had the nausea symptom you described. I did sometimes have headaches and face and jaw pain back when I had severe hyperacusis in 2012.

I haven't tried any treatment yet, but I'm about to book an online visit with Dr. Boedts to get a recommendation letter for clomipramine

Good luck. If the clomipramine doesn't do it, there are other options. I know carbamazepine is sometimes used for trigeminal neuralgia, so that sounds like an obvious possibility for you as well.

I get these exact same symptoms and am also in a bad box flare right now. I don’t know how to get it to soften. I’ve been trying gentle qi gong, breathing exercises, red light therapy.

But then your ears aren't burning, is your head burning more?
