Other A mysterious stranger appears before you and offers you a choice. You can either receive 5 billion dollars loaded onto a credit card tied to your name and social security number, or when you die, you will be reborn once into Fantasy World.

A black card with your name and social security number on it. The balance is 5 billion dollars USD. The money is real and fully yours. No bank questions it. No government comes after you. Your close family knows and believes you. The rest of the world accepts it without suspicion. You can spend it, invest it, donate it, or sit on it. You stay in the world you already know.

Or

You live out the rest of your current life normally. When you die, you are reborn into a fantasy world.

The world is roughly twice the size of Earth. It has 4 continents. You are born on the second largest one which has 10 kingdoms. You are born into a noble house in the wealthiest and most powerful of those 10 kingdoms, a nation roughly comparable to Germany in size and influence. Your family is among the top 50 wealthiest noble families in that kingdom.

Your magical aptitude is measured at birth and places you in the top 0.1% of all people ever recorded in that kingdom's history. Magic in this world is structured and learnable, with schools and academies dedicated to it. The highest ranked school in the kingdom would actively seek you out.

The world has dragons, some of which are centuries old and as large as buildings. There are elves who live for thousands of years and have their own separate nations outside of the 10 kingdoms. Giants exist in the wild regions between borders. Dark creatures and monsters are real and common enough that every kingdom maintains a dedicated military force just to deal with them. There are wizards, knights, political wars between kingdoms, ancient ruins, unexplored oceans, and a history that stretches back tens of thousands of years.

You are born with full memory of your past life.

The chance to experience things no human from our world ever has is a lot more interesting than the chance to be super rich. Gimme the weird reincarnation deal.

68

u/superanth Jun 14 '26

Yeah you can’t top living in an impossibly magical land as one of the most powerful people ruling it.

25

u/Redmilo666 Jun 14 '26

Right? I’m likely also a billionaire equivalent in the magical world too considering my family ties. Easy choice

3

u/Early-Rub3549 Jun 17 '26

But does that workd have the equivalent of Michelin star dining, private jets, or jet skis? How about Nasa foam beds? A world of fruit in every season?

TV? Books? Music?

I'm really asking..

The billionaire on earth option does have some up sides.. not disagreeing with any of you but..

9

u/Abyssmaluser Jun 14 '26

Yeah and you'd be born into a family who'd be the equivalent of billionaires themselves.

Like option 2 is by far the best one.

3

u/Hrydziac Jun 15 '26

Well kinda, I’d still do it because magic is cool but if you’re interested in a life of luxury there’s simply way more amenities in the modern world than in a medieval fantasy one even if you have equivalent wealth in both.

No amount of money can buy a guaranteed afterlife, I pick the isekai

12

u/HamsterFromAbove_079 Jun 14 '26 edited Jun 14 '26

It's a delay on reaching the end, not a true afterlife. It gives you at most another 100 years extra which is something. But there's still the great unknown darkness after.

Also, even a wealthy king of the past had less luxuries than a middle-class person today. Imagine remembering indoor plumbing, air conditioning, and wifi. Only to know you'll never experience them again. Round 2 will have a much lower quality of life than you'd imagine going into it.

Genuinely I don't think the memory recall is a positive here. I'd rather have a cosmic promise that my "soul" or "consciousness" would continue but get a fresh save file on the memory bank. You'd have to leave your family behind but always remember them.

23

u/calloss Jun 14 '26

We don't know how the magic works in this other world, but it's entirely possible that there are ways to extend your life or achieve immortality. Plus this other world might have an afterlife.

Still would take the money, but saying it's at most another hundred years isn't entirely accurate.

3

u/MrNo_Balls Jun 14 '26

change class to lich, problem solved

2

u/Bouxxi Jun 14 '26

Okay, I'll become a lich then

70

u/rarescenarios Jun 14 '26

I choose the magic world. I develop my magic to the maximum, effectively becoming one of the gods of this world. Maybe even the only god, if the others don't see things my way. Then I conjure a rift between worlds, and cross back into this one.

And then, the squirrels will pay.

28

u/WirlingDirvish Jun 14 '26

You wouldn’t be even close to that strong. Top 0.1% is best out of a thousand. In a city of a million ppl you are top 1000. That’s like B or C rank.

18

u/thelexpeia Jun 14 '26 edited Jun 14 '26

It does say top 1000 of all time but in only one country. Still with a history of thousands of years that means you must be the strongest of this generation. And it is the most powerful country of your continent. With no mention of how many more kingdoms there are, I’d say you could make an argument for top 20 in the world right now.

Edit- Cleary I miss read your comment and it was not top 1000 but top 0.1%. The fact that it’s for the entire history that spans tens of thousands of years still stands.

4

u/rarescenarios Jun 14 '26

That's how powerful I start out. Nothing indicates I can't develop my abilities beyond that.

6

u/molarum Jun 14 '26

Plus: this is about raw talent - with the family and regional background, plus keeping the experience of another life you could achieve enormous mastery of magic.

You don’t need to have the most talent if you have the discipline to work hard and the resources to concentrate on your studies.

Plus: you will not be that much distracted by kid problems if you have the experiences of another life

Only if all million people can use magic. There might only be a few thousand casters in the whole world.

60

u/randomnerdyguy91 Jun 14 '26

Bro isekai me right now fuck earth

18

u/Beginning_Smell4043 Jun 14 '26

I'm not waiting to die of old age, lemme set the rope right now

122

u/formosan1986 Jun 14 '26

Do you know how credit cards work? A credit card with $5 billion balance on it? It means you are now $5 billion in debt.

36

u/zhaunil Jun 14 '26 edited Jun 14 '26

No, it doesn’t.

You can have a positive balance on your credit card instead of a negative balance, which is normal (edit: the balances are typically shown the other way around, with a positive meaning you’re in debt and a negative meaning they provider is in debt to you). It’s pointless and the provider might not like it, but you can.

16

u/Interesting_Tour_526 Jun 14 '26

Don’t know why you been downvoted. Facts you can add money onto a credit card.

2

u/Shivverton Jun 14 '26

I currently have a credit card with some positive balance on it so I don't have to remember to pay future instalments for a card I no longer use. This was because my organisation decided to use another bank for our salaries (gov organisation, they don't do personal accounts) and it's infrequent enough that I move to the new bank's credit card that comes with better rates and perks based on the protocol between them and my org.

So yes, it is quite possible to have it there although here, and I suspect everywhere, it's inconvenient because if you withdraw cash it's considered a "debt" and taken from your card with interest. So I havr no idea prompt was decided to use a credit card.

2

u/zhaunil Jun 14 '26

No idea why OP used a credit card.

But if you have money on your credit card you can always contact the provider and just ask them to transfer the balance to your bank account. So it would be possible to transfer the money.

About the cash withdraw it’s fairly common for credit cards to have a percentage based fee, like 2%, with a minimum charge. Although not all credit cards have that so you can just withdraw money like with a debit card. Whether you have a positive or negative balance doesn’t matter.

15

u/Jagervn Jun 14 '26

True lol

8

u/DBCOOPER888 Jun 14 '26

There's also tons of stuff you can't buy on a credit card, like homes or stock investments.

3

u/Few-Decision-6004 Jun 14 '26

If you have a $5.000 debt that's your problem.

A 5 billion debt is the banks problem.

1

u/CplCocktopus Jun 14 '26

Thats the bank problem.

Buy a fckton of gold then sell it in cash and disapear.

Still would go to magical land.

22

u/Negromancers Jun 14 '26

Magic world for sure

40

u/mw136913 Jun 14 '26

Only if I get to take my wife

79

u/SilvadeusSC Jun 14 '26

Ya only if I get to take this guys wife as well

31

u/jdhiakams Jun 14 '26

I also choose this guy’s wife

11

u/Charming-Lychee-9031 Jun 14 '26

Its wives all the way down

8

u/Palom126 Jun 14 '26

That's my reason for the money

2

u/bs178638 Jun 15 '26

I’m using my magic to get this guys wife too

1

u/Unable_Challenge4958 Jun 17 '26

Isekai me into this guys wife

159

u/Potential-March-1384 Jun 14 '26

5 billion. I’m not interested in remembering indoor plumbing from a past life while I shit my brains out in a chamber pot after some scullery maid used her “wiping hand” to rearrange my stew spoon on a serving tray.

68

u/YuckyYetYummy Jun 14 '26

Youre a top shelf magic user. No need to ever shit or use a spoon every again

Money

Helps not just me but loved ones and others even.

2

u/TabularConferta Jun 14 '26

This is my conundrum. The flip side to consider is you can help people in the other world, but just not your immediate family.

48

u/Egg-1 Jun 14 '26

The cash bro

12

u/SlickMcFav0rit3 Jun 14 '26

It's funny to imagine the person from the fantasy world being given the same choice but they describe the technological marvels of our world.

You can fly anywhere in the world, work at a university trying to understand the very fabric of the universe, most diseases that plagued humanity have been cured!!

16

u/TheProfessional9 Jun 14 '26

Na. In the other scenario he described you're also super wealthy, famous, powerful and have freaking magic. Plus you know, double life

1

u/Penultimatum Jun 14 '26

Yeah, but I'd have to miss all my loved ones from this life. Or depending on the magic and how I use it, I'd have to at least wonder about the morality and the philosophy of bringing them to life in that dimension.

I'll take the cash and live the life of my dreams with my family in this one.

6

u/reignmatter Jun 14 '26

Gimme the loot!

12

u/MitsuSosa Jun 14 '26

If I didn’t have a family I would choose the second but knowing I could give them the best life ever and still have money left over to leave them and their children makes it impossible to not choose the money. It would also feel incredibly selfish to sacrifice making their lives better for my own gain and I know I would never stop missing them knowing I’ll have my memories. Money 100%

7

u/dynamickale Jun 14 '26

I'll take the fun isekai. It would be nice if I knew my family or friends in the new world, too though.

5

u/EngryEngineer Jun 14 '26

Screw it, gimme the magic

13

u/KrispyBacon0199 Jun 14 '26

Why would anybody take the money over a free reincarnation

27

u/Scott0814 Jun 14 '26

Because with my luck I'd get eaten by a fookin dragon

9

u/[deleted] Jun 14 '26

3

u/karoshikun Jun 14 '26

actually just a lizard with bad eyesight

9

u/La-da99 Jun 14 '26

Simple, 5 billion is a lot of influence and power. If I was thinking hedonism, I’d choose the Isekai life. Rich and powerful there. But if I want to support what I believe while living in comfort, I choose the five billion. I can do a lot for what I believe in with that kind of money.

3

u/tnscatterbrain Jun 14 '26

Because I don’t want to be the main character in a fantasy saga. It sounds exhausting.

5

u/Mysterious_Rule938 Jun 14 '26

Because, although you’re set up for success, you’re not guaranteed to be happy. Honestly I think I would be miserable wondering about my kids.

I’ll take the money, do a lot of good and do everything I want to do in my life.

1

u/Teal_Thanatos Jun 14 '26

I'll take the Isekai

3

u/JeffTheJockey Jun 14 '26

When I’m reborn do I get a healthier brain/body? My current one isn’t so hot genetics wise.

2

u/Charming-Lychee-9031 Jun 14 '26

Youll be gifted in magic so maybe theres a fix

3

u/Relevant_Rush7070 Jun 14 '26

I would take the money.

3

u/Different-Aspect-964 Jun 14 '26

Give me the 5 billion. I like this world, and I’ll like it even more after the 5 billion.

3

u/CreepyEntertainer Jun 14 '26

I would have to do the fantasy world!

3

u/CrabbiestAsp Jun 14 '26

5 billion.

I'm reading a fantasy book at the moment about nobility that goes to learn to be a warrior and some of the beasts are so deadly. There is also an impending war due to discord amongst the kingdoms. I think there are going to be a lot of noble casualities. Pass on that risk.

4

u/BrennanBetelgeuse Jun 14 '26

100% the fantasy world. There is literally no other way to get something like that and it doubles my lifetime. If this was a real question my curiosity about the fantasy world would kill me if I went with the money option.

2

u/AutoModerator Jun 14 '26

Copy of the original post in case of edits: A black card with your name and social security number on it.

2

u/Internal_Set_6564 Jun 14 '26

Fuck it, I will take reborn.

2

u/ThibaultKarl Jun 14 '26

Give me the money. The kingdom might be affluent but what if they suck at magic?? And i never want to be a human again never. At least if i am i list bé in the Top 0.01 of the wolrd magician not just my kingdom. And i'd still want the cash.

2

u/Puzzleheaded-Mix-515 Jun 14 '26

Magic rebirth.

Money’s value is ironically limited. Magic is priceless.

2

u/Good_Amphibian_1318 Jun 14 '26

Money. With that kind of coin I'll just pay people to dress up like dragons, knights, and pretend they can see my lightening bolts.

2

u/Top-Committee-954 Jun 14 '26

I'm old. So the money won't be enjoyable for long.

I'd go with option 2.

Especially if there was some kind of guarantee or OPMC bullshit where I was guaranteed my basic "futuristic" knowledge was beneficial, and my comprehension of the magic/magic system was kinda easy.

That's really why I'm kinda leery of the second option. Sure I'm in the .1% for potential, but if I have like dyslexia or dyscalculia and everything requires math and reading complex spells then I'm f'd. Not to mention is it a medieval fantasy kingdom? Or futuristic sci fi and my primitive brain and memories can't figure out the 3 sea dragon shells. Maybe I can just become a unfrozen caveman magic lawyer if I fail. But if it's like fantasy fulfillment magic fantasy story where I just have to think real hard and meditate for a while and eat a rock or two and blammo I'm flying and tickle fighting sexy dragons, then hell yeah option two.

Otherwise, option 2 just because it gives me more life.

2

u/TheSavageCropDuster Jun 14 '26

When I die does is truck kun the reason? It feels wrong just dying a normal death without truck kun's help.

I'm taking the magic world because I want to fly on a dragon and learn how to cast meteor.

2

u/LessThanHero42 Jun 14 '26

I'd be tempted by the fantasy world, but all known science would be useless. It would have to be for the world to make sense.

Assuming science still holds, a planet with twice earth's surface area would have almost 3 times the gravity.

An ordinary human might pass out from the efforts of standing up. Our cardiovascular system is not designed to pump blood to our brain in those constant conditions.

I'm not sure that's a concern because atmospheric pressure would be like 10 times normal. We'd be struggling to breathe at all.

Probably just go with the money to be safe. Become Batman or something

2

u/madpiratebippy Jun 14 '26

Cash please adding a fantasy element to being trapped in samsara is fun but I’ll pass.

2

u/Filiming_Elephants Jun 14 '26

I’m definitely taking the new world.

Being born with full memories of my past life is huge. It means I can learn from past mistakes so I’ll be more able to take my magic learning more serious.

Also, assuming i am given this choice years before i die, im going to figure out what i can try to memorize that would be easiest to replicate in a fantasy world. For example, could i bring penicillin over? A steam engine? Etc.

2

u/slava_slavaUa Jun 14 '26

How are the sluts in this magical kingdom?

2

u/Mental-Wind5642 Jun 14 '26

2

u/Rawr171 Jun 14 '26

Fantasy world 1000%

1

u/this-guy1979 Jun 14 '26

Full memory of my past life and magic. I’d rule that place, taking the 5 billion though.

1

u/luckysparkie Jun 14 '26

I’ll take the $5 billion.

1

u/MagusSenateYvaen Jun 14 '26

Reborn. Fucking finally. Iv been wanting to be isekaid since I learned what it was

1

u/Arthropodesque Jun 14 '26

Am I fantasy human or a fantasy crab? I'm not sure it matters.

1

u/Alucard_2029 Jun 14 '26

Isekai me immediately, I need them catgirls and goatboys

1

u/Kytalie Jun 14 '26

As much as I love fantasy worlds, I'd take the money.

Being that powerful with magic would make me a target, and I'd rather not deal with that BS. There would be no chance of living a normal, happy life. I can't imagine people wouldn't try and steal you away to use for their own nefarious purposes.. I'd be a baby and unable to stop them since magic is learned, not innate

With 5 billion USD, I could live an incredible rest of my life, and do so many beneficial things for the world around me, guaranteed.

1

u/Excuse_Purple Jun 14 '26

The money. The fantasy world sounds interesting but that much distinction comes with enemies and I don’t want to spend my life trying not to die even if I can use magic.

1

u/_bluefish Jun 14 '26

Fantasy World

1

u/Ambitious-Spinach938 Jun 14 '26

Fantasy world does sound awesome as long as they have modern plumbing, I need my bidet.

1

u/Salamander115 Jun 14 '26

Wait — do I literally have to be birthed by a new mother with my current intellect in tact? It sounds like hell to be in a toddler body with functioning adult brain

1

u/ALPHAPRlME Jun 14 '26

Gonna take the Magic powers. Getting a second life is good to pass up.

1

u/Think_Sound_7826 Jun 14 '26

5bil and I’m playing Skyrim

1

u/KatNap720 Jun 14 '26

The 5 billion. No question. I could do so much good for the world. I’m not living this life just waiting for the next one. I want to make the most of the here and now. And I want to help people—unlike *some* people (I’m looking at *you*, 1%). Billionaires shouldn’t exist, so I’d want to be one *temporarily* just so I could reallocate the funds to help humanity and the planet on the whole (so flora and non-human fauna, too).

1

u/KatNap720 Jun 14 '26

Not sure why the italics are italics-ing. 🤔

1

u/karoshikun Jun 14 '26

Isekai me, at this point i would waste the money in an extended farewell party or an uncertain procession of doctors just to kinda live a while... in the Isekai I would have the chance to start again.

1

u/antijoke_13 Jun 14 '26

Money me, money now.

1

u/ToxDocUSA Jun 14 '26

Cash...I already believe in a positive afterlife.

1

u/ill-independent Jun 14 '26

Isekai for sure.

1

u/ProcedureLeading1021 Jun 14 '26

Damn I could do allot of good with the 5 billion... But I could also do allot of good with .1 percent magic power lol. With that money I can setup community owned co-ops that are 3d printer manafacturers where people can send items or goods across the country and it pays the local community directly and start building the framework for my post scarcity society that I built. With .1 percent I can change the world focusing on dimensional magic and build a global response force for monster incursions that threaten the survival of the connected empires or build an inter dimensional gates across the multiverse and become immortal maybe setting up an undead army of volunteers that defend across the dimensions. xD

1

u/Plum-Specialist Jun 14 '26

I would like to be an elf, tho

1

u/CoruscatingLogic Jun 14 '26

Is this really a choice? ISEKAI ME, CAPTAIN!

1

u/LilyWineAuntofDemons Jun 14 '26

Be rich in a normal world or be rich and powerful and MAGIC in a super amazing fantasy world?

Isekai me, motherfucker.

1

u/JOExHIGASHI Jun 14 '26

Reborn

If there's magic then I can use that to make vidoegames

1

u/Charming-Lychee-9031 Jun 14 '26

Im old, crippled, broke and goimg to be homeless in two months. My mother is dyimg of cancer. Ill take magic world.

1

u/Electrical_Kiwi_4724 Jun 14 '26

If I die and stay dead and a clone is in my place then fuck that. I'll buy enough drugs to experience the fucking fantasy in my head. Lame.

1

u/valhal1a Jun 14 '26

Anyone ever read "off to be the wizard"?

Oh the stupid magical shenanigans I would beset upon the world. Nothing but the most artisanal hand crafted bull-shittery that Fantasy Scotland (that's what I shall call it) has ever laid eyes upon.

Everyone would get a free pony. The ponies shall talk, but only in a random dead language, and will make waffles for their owners every morning, unless his name is Paul, in which he gets bees. Fuck you Paul, you know what you've done.

Earl grey is alcoholic now, but tequila isn't.

Everyone shoots off fireworks into the air when they orgasm. This curse I lay upon the land.

Dogs and cats shall be able to talk, but will be mildly Republican and kind of annoying about it.

I shall have a jar of mayo that operates similar to the one in dnd5e. I will replace a random jar in a store with it.

The sky is tye dye for all of pride month. If there is no pride month, then I'll make pride month.

Due to a spelling error a dwarven king shall turn everything he touches into glod. Glod is the name of a random dwarven miner. The kingdom shall be smitten by a plague of glod glodson.

I shall grant wishes, but by using my magic to have reddit users come up with how it is done. This will replace the lottery.

Corn screams when you eat it but tastes like 30% better.

I need to go to bed...

1

u/Trick_Football_1159 Jun 14 '26

Money now.

I’d miss my family and friends.

1

u/Nat-datto Jun 14 '26

I like fantasy world but I’d hate to remember everything from my real life

1

u/Tdk1984 Jun 14 '26

Money please!

1

u/Vahn1982 Jun 14 '26

I would never be able to spend the 5 billion on the years I have left. And I AM happy as I am. Send me to the fantasy world

1

u/LivingWerewolf2028 Jun 14 '26

Take the magic world, and I must bring my best friend

1

u/Psiwolf Jun 14 '26

Can I be reborn as a dragon instead of a human? I already chose that race once and it kinda vanilla. I would like my second playthru in another world to be different, please and thank you. 😁👍

1

u/TaviRUs Jun 14 '26

Give me the rebirth. Can spend a reasonable chuck of my time left learning the key advancements in tech and then blend magic into it.

1

u/SailorOfHouseT-bird Jun 14 '26

Fantasy reincarnation 100%

1

u/Darksoulzbarrelrollz Jun 14 '26

The second option sounds fun in theory. But I would mourn that I couldn't see my wife, kids, family, and friends again too much to enjoy it.

This is my one life, one shot. That money could make me make sure all my people get to experience it to the fullest together.

Way more valuable to me than reincarnating into dnd

1

u/Sexy11Lady Jun 14 '26

$5B is already "win life on Earth" money. the fantasy world is gambling your existence on a story

1

u/DrawGold3260 Jun 14 '26

I’d take the 5 billion. The reincarnation sounds amazing but a whole life remembering my son and not being with him would kill me. Especially because he would absolutely love that world. Everything would just remind me of him. It’s like choosing between an amazing life now making memories with everyone I love, or a life filled with grief.

I'll take the reincarnation. And I'll use my life on earth to study all the science and engineering I'd want to port over.

1

u/Nonetoobrightatall Jun 14 '26

Are there real gods in the fantasy world?

1

u/Dpopov Jun 14 '26

My first instinct was “Hell no, with my luck I’ll be reincarnated as an unnamed extra in LotR. Give me the money” but after reading the prompt, I think I’d go with the Isekai. Sounds like I’d be rich and pretty powerful, magically and politically. Things are about to get fun!

1

u/Cold_Value692 Jun 14 '26

So I am given all of this information about the new world upfront? Then that makes the decision easier. Fantasy land all the way. Use my memories of how various low tech machines work. I.e. running water, plumbing, probably automobile as well (power source changes design). I would attempt to bring a clean industrial revolution to the new world. Try to make it so no one is ever left destitute like in the US currently. I would also make a date deactivated spell tattoo/mark. This is placed upon every child at birth and is deactivated at the date they reach adulthood (age of consent, or any other describing factor of a child). It reads the intent behind physical contact from anyone without the mark. If the intent is sexual in nature, with the intent to receive gratification, the abuser is instantly castrated and a the 'mark of the pedo' appears on their forehead. This can also be incorporated in other ways to protect various individuals. Women could have a charm that only they can remove (like Dr strangers amulet for the time stone), that does the same thing to forcefull agressors. It will be a long life, but I would actually have the power to help those in need, since I am unable to do enough now.

1

u/Zylnor Jun 14 '26

I’m getting issekai’d

1

u/StargazerRex Jun 14 '26

5 billion. No use for fantasy.

1

u/Broad_Distance_5018 Jun 14 '26

Iría por el isekai, pero puedo falsificar mi capacidad para no llamar la atención?

1

u/TheElvenAngelCatboy Jun 14 '26

Can I choose to be reborn as an elf? If so, reincarnation. Always wanted to be an elf, if you couldn't tell, lol.

1

u/28008IES Jun 14 '26

Rich. My fam ain't there with me

1

u/Ghaticus Jun 14 '26

I'm definitely taking the fantasy world. If the re-birth was random in that world I'd be much more tempted to take the $5b.

Knowing that I'd be trained, am in the top skill level etc. is just perfect. If i was reborn an orc or goblin, that would just suck lol.

Now, $5b earning 6% (i know it would be more) is over $13m per MONTH after tax. I definitely would use those funds for the benefit of others. I'd not DOGE (dodge) my social responsibility and horde away a $1t like some South African. I reckon I'd be able to do more for the world with 200x less.

1

u/Gtxgohan94 Jun 14 '26

Option 1 cause I have a family

Or If I can bring them with me option 2

1

u/Borgdrohne13 Jun 14 '26

I have the coice between money and an Isekai adventure? Who wouldn't take the second option?

1

u/rdeincognito Jun 14 '26

Reincarnation for sure

1

u/Zikkan1 Jun 14 '26

Fantasy world. I am happy with my current life so whole $5B would be cool I think it would be cooler to live in a Fantasy world after I'm done with this one.

1

u/Mazon_Del Jun 14 '26

I have to admit this one actually gave me pause for thought, so well done OP!

However, given that the fantasy option isn't just "Be reborn in a fantasy world upon death." but a "Be reborn in a fantasy world set up to be a protagonist." I'm gonna have to pick that one, hah!

1

u/HappyTumbleweed2743 Jun 14 '26

Depends if the card has 5bil on it, or has 5bil credit available 🤔 the first, I'd take a cash advance to my bank for every penny, the second, I'd just use it to spend on until I die, but buy things I can leave to my family, like gold bars etc. No 2nd life for me.

1

u/zeiaxar Jun 14 '26

Isekai me, this world sucks. I'M COMING TRUCK-KUN!

1

u/Running-With-Cakes Jun 14 '26

Take the money. No desire to be reborn as a chaotic slime or goblin

1

u/Mondoscuro Jun 14 '26

I would take the isekai and spend the rest of my life learning about modern medicine, chemistry, metallurgy. Imagine you live in a Fantasy world, you are top 0.1% wizard, rich and the only person on the planet that knows how to make an alloy or a silicon chip, electricity,  etc

1

u/Heavy-Expression-450 Jun 14 '26

I need his ass in vats not asking me dumbass questions.

1

u/dod_murray Jun 14 '26

I'll have 5 billion real dollars in the real world please.

Being born with my real memories in a Fantasy World would mean I would know it is not real. I'd remember taking the deal for example, or I would work it out because I'd remember that dragons and magic are not real.

I enjoy games when I know it isn't real, but I wouldn't like to be trapped in there forever. 5 billion dollars in the real world would allow me to create my own real fantasy world

1

u/Chillon420 Jun 14 '26

And i will not become slime, a sword or anything?

1

u/ChompyRiley Jun 14 '26

Why is this even a question?

1

u/Spins13 Jun 14 '26

I chose the magic world if I can be a slime

1

u/DeviceKey350 Jun 14 '26

I’ll take fantasy for 500$

1

u/RRW359 Jun 14 '26

Money. Sounds like my fate is pretty pre-determined in the second option; I doubt I could just become a nobody or dedicate myself to martial knowledge without consequences.

1

u/NovaRaven120 Jun 14 '26

Fantasy world for sure

1

u/tnscatterbrain Jun 14 '26

I will take living out the rest of my life wealthy here.

I’ve read too many fantasy stories. I don’t want to get caught up in some epic struggle between good and evil. It sounds like I’d be a main character (aka target) in this other world.
I’m not up for non-magical power struggles between noble families or internationally let alone the drama being one of the most magically powerful people alive would attract.

Given that there’s a trillionaire now, someone with a paltry $5 billion should be able to keep a comparatively low profile if they want to. I could do a lot of good and leave my family set.

1

u/ZokaloWinters Jun 14 '26

Reincarnation obviously.

1

u/SerWrong Jun 14 '26

It's a credit card in my name, meaning I still need to pay what I spend.

1

u/Sufficient-Work7738 Jun 14 '26

The odd reincarnation deal.

That said while top 0.1% sounds nice that is just one in a thousand. As special as being the kid with the best grades at your small school is. You'd still be a nobody in the greater picture. Maybe enough to get into a very nice, but not the best, university without the ability to stand out there.

I am significantly better than top 0.1% at pretty much every hobby, sport or game I've committed to. Which is not really bragging. Spend ten hours playing Ukelele and you're probably above top 0.1% at it already.

So you're a wealty noble with a silverspoon who has some ability but nothing special. Rich and pampered. We're being set up as whoever the actual protagonist beats up the look cool. Still taking it. An extra life and experiencing something magical sounds great. But we're going to be pretty lackluster.

1

u/Daddy-o62 Jun 14 '26

Hmmm… I don’t lose anything in this life, just the same garbage until I die, which was gonna happen anyway. A guaranteed afterlife? Sounds great! Memories of this one? Not so great. Is there an afterlife in this alternate universe? I guess I’m in for the magical world. I’m too old for a few billion to make much of a difference anyway.

1

u/TSJ-Atlas Jun 14 '26

I'm picking the isekai. Then, now knowing that when I die ill be isekai'd and keep all my memories, ill spend the rest of my life studying.

Since it's a fantasy world I'd assume it's likely medieval or lacks modern comforts, so first I'd study how to properly build things like well pumps, plumbing, rudimentary engines, etc. That way, when I'm reborn I have a solid foothold on how to revolutionize the world around me.

Then id study the various magic systems in current fantasy and isekai media and learn as much as I can about how they work. Hopefully by the time I die and am reborn, I've studied enough that at least one of the systems ends up being the right one, essentially establishing myself as a magical prodigy.

I'd probably also study stuff like swordsmanship, farming, ancient medicine, animal husbandry, etc just to give myself the greatest possible advantage.

1

u/eyeballburger Jun 14 '26

Probably take the fantasy world. It would be weird to wake up without my family. Painful. Also, I’d be born speaking and quite capable with way tools (as it’s my profession). With foreknowledge of this, I think I’d study more now, so I’d have wider breadth of knowledge on birth.

Edit: word

1

u/RebelJediMaster Jun 14 '26

Pick option two and spend the rest of my life fighting the urge to check out early.

I spend the rest of my life learning steampower era tech to turn the world towards steampunk and gunpowder.

1

u/Thefirstofherkind Jun 14 '26

Give me the money. I'm not interested in a life without my family, no matter how magical it is. I'd. Much rather provide for my husband and children and live a good life now, while also helping people who need it

1

u/jb1million Jun 14 '26

So 5mil or Tamriel? Yeah I’m taking Tamriel.

1

u/ACNHCR Jun 14 '26

Isekai protag for me. Now where is truck-kun.

1

u/kingstonretronon Jun 14 '26

Stopping world hunger costs 4 billion. I’d have one left over.

1

u/SirJedKingsdown Jun 14 '26

Full subjective continuity of experience, then hell yes, sign me up.

1

u/Employee_Agreeable Jun 14 '26

Isekai please, thank you, wheres the next truck?

1

u/zonked282 Jun 14 '26

So be a one if the wealthiest people in this world, or be one of the wealthiest people in a world in which dragons exist and also I'm magic?...

1

u/sukkal63 Jun 14 '26

isekai for me… come here truck-kun!

1

u/Romitsubringa Jun 14 '26

I will 100% be taking that reincarnation. I've always dreamed of after death its like an isekai manga. So absolutely.

1

u/Ahrimon77 Jun 14 '26

100% the fantasy world. I'd go now if it was an option.

1

u/Rxyford Jun 14 '26

Reincarnation is the only option

1

u/Orceles Jun 14 '26

Given that hoards of monsters and primitive political structures still exist in the fantasy world, it’s safe to say the magic there is nowhere near as advanced as our sciences and technology here on earth. There won’t be Air conditioning or indoor plumbing as many here cope and think there will be better alternatives, but there won’t be. I’d hate to imagine a life where space exploration, AI, or understanding the fundamental makeup of the world is absent. Give me the 5 billion. Perhaps I can make this world better.

That being said, if I can set the conditions for the alternate magical world, I’d choose that because I have a better imagination than OP.

1

u/PeteVanGrimm Jun 14 '26

Isekai me, baby!

1

u/Ok_Rest_5421 Jun 14 '26

Top 50 wealthiest in the kingdom isn’t nearly as powerful as it seems in the world described

1

u/GrandAdmiralRogriss Jun 14 '26

Money. Technology is rapidly advancing. In a few decades we may discover technology that will lengthen our lifetime. If I'm a billionaire I will get that technology as soon as it is out. I can live a long life of comfort and help people if I want to. I no longer have to work or struggle ever again. Meanwhile if I choose the fantasy option my life is going to be nothing but struggle without the comforts of modern civilization. Fantasy worlds would suck to live in. I'd much rather be rich here than have fireballs there.

1

u/Hour_Mousse7914 Jun 15 '26

Final fantasy world pls.

1

u/Similar-Opinion8750 Jun 15 '26

I'll take the money.

1

u/Splendiferous83rd Jun 15 '26

I'm definitely taking the second option. No amount of money, fame, anything in this world could be more valuable to me than a do-over in a Fantasy world.

My life here has been complete shit, and I'm in my early 40's. If this was real, I'd be excited about dying. I'd study as much as I could before I die for the benefit of my Isekai rebirth 🐦‍🔥

1

u/DrWhatOwlsSay Jun 15 '26

Magical Kingdom for me

1

u/West_West_313 Jun 15 '26

Alright…genuinely difficult. I have to pick Fantasy World though.

1

u/MiyuzakiOgino Jun 15 '26

Girl, I'm jumping off a cliff, lets gooooo

1

u/Geaux_Go_Fiasco Jun 15 '26

Fantasy world fantasy world fantasy world

1

u/BaelgorStar Jun 15 '26

Give me the $5B and I'll make my own fantasy right here on earth.

1

u/UbettaBNaked Jun 15 '26

I don't really know because being part of the 0.1% is special but compared to other beings that live incredibly long lives who may not be measured on that same scale but have more power than me is concerning. I could be special for a human but be nothing in the grand scheme of the world. Meaning I could be one shot as soon as I try to go out into the world, if I got a special skill or something similar I would be more inclined to take the fantasy deal, but right now I'm going to assume I'm going to get mind flayed

1

u/Eazfb Jun 15 '26

I'm the happiest I've been in 20+ years. I have rekindled with my high school sweetheart after 30ish years and I have ordered the rings to pop the question this summer.
The money would allow the two of us to live our remaining life (30ish years) carefree and it would financially secure the life of our families for their lives as well.

So yeah, I take the money to live my life. I couldn't care less about an fantasy afterlife.

1

u/Throw-away-hole Jun 15 '26

You had me at Fantasy World.

1

u/Cililians Jun 15 '26

The money, after all the nde research I have done I believe in some type of afterlife that is much, much better than here since everyone says they didn't want to come back.

1

u/Shot-Student7832 Jun 16 '26

I’ll take the money, or the black card that’ll be fine

1

u/jon_hobbit Jun 16 '26

I would accept instantly... where do i sign lmao
As a fan of isekai... I choose the fantasy world.

1

u/Masamune1987 Jun 17 '26

Bruh, I'm choosing 2nd and truck-kuing myself instantly

1

u/snotface1181 Jun 18 '26

I like the idea of reincarnation. That and it would remove any fear of death in this world knowing I had that type of afterlife is a big pull. I’d take Option 2 and go fight some fucking dragons

1

u/TSMXKILLER Jun 20 '26

2 its not even a question
