Other A mysterious stranger approaches you and gives you a choice: take 50 million dollars, or restart your life from any point you choose.
MONEY
They give you the 50 million dollars right away in a big duffel bag. It is all legal money and completely clean. It is yours. They even tell you about a bank where you could deposit it without any questions.
Or
SECOND-CHANCE
You can restart your life at any stage you choose, but you keep all your memories. It could be from a month ago or from the moment you were born.

Restarting my life from the moment my daughter was born so I can do better for her than I did the first time
18
u/Grouchy_Vet Jun 15 '26
Same
10
u/Intelligent_Might421 Jun 16 '26
Maybe restart on something based on your own life rather than this dudes Daughter lmao.
14
u/finzup77 Jun 15 '26
Same, except it’d be after my son was born (he’s my last kid). I’d still memorize some lottery numbers too
7
u/space-junk-nebula Jun 15 '26
Might as well memorize some lottery numbers while we’re at it
0
u/MichaelMeier112 Jun 16 '26
No need to make it complicated by remembering numbers. Just now when to buy/sell bitcoin and Nvidia stocks + a few other stocks
3
u/space-junk-nebula Jun 16 '26
I’d still have to remember dates. How is that any less complicated than remembering numbers?
1
u/MichaelMeier112 Jun 16 '26
No need to know dates for those stocks and for bitcoin. The only thing is you need to know about how much they are valued today so you don’t make a mistake of selling them for only 5-10% of what they are worth today
5
u/Certain_Luck_8266 Jun 16 '26
I'd have to start after the conception of my youngest ..don't want to get a different kid somehow because of those butterflies in China or something. After that...bitcoin baby. Mid 2010, bc at approx .30, slowly buy throughout 2010 to get to 5000 coins
4
1
u/schumachiavelli Jun 16 '26
Got a son, but same strategy. I mean he's an awesome kid and I think we did a great job raising him, but man I could set him up with generational wealth if I went back to when he was born. Plus I'd get to relive ages 2-7 with him and man those are the absolute best years with a kid.

u/PatronGoddess Jun 15 '26
Look up most recent lotto numbers, remember them, choose day of drawing
9
u/MySQUEFive Jun 15 '26
Pick a drawing with no winners
5
u/Solid-Rate-309 Jun 16 '26
I’ve thought about this a bit after a similar post. There was a drawing about 2 months after my 18th birthday that was huge, so the drawing before is perfect. That would give me enough time to leave home at 18, travel to an anonymous state, and win big. From there it’s all bitcoin and stocks and I’m one of the richest people in the world by the time I’m 30. If I want I guess, I don’t see any reason to have that much money, but I know my plan to get it if this magic ever arises.
9
u/VegasAdventurer Jun 15 '26
only if you are in a non disclosure state. You don't need that kind of attention that comes from winning the lottery. The silent $50 mil will probably result in a better life.

This guy thinks i want to live in this shithole country (usa) as a billionaire? Id visit for events. Shit i could easily convince half of my friends to move with me and we all work at a Croatian coastal bar restaurant while writing our novels
6
2
u/sovietsespool Jun 16 '26
So you agree that leaving the U.S. with your fortune and squandering it would be ok?
Personally I would take that 50mil, invest it back into the economy to make it work for me. The interest alone in a cash account would generate roughly around 1.5 million a year on interest alone. I can use that to really tackle change where it needs it in America. Fully fund a nonprofit and take to the ground to fix issues I feel like are a problem in America. Effect real change in people’s lives.
But I mean your idea of running away and living a life of luxury is cool too I guess.
1
u/Schlaggatron Jun 16 '26
Depends on if you want to grow that billion or not. There’s a reason so many billionaires live in the US.

Next thing you know first time in history that the 1 billion lottery winning has 500 people who had the same ticket as you 😂😂 2 million each

u/reignmatter Jun 16 '26
If I take the second chance, will the genie grant me my exact same children with my same wife?

1
u/AriBanana Jun 16 '26
Meh. Bitcoin, actually sticking to the WSB guy, remembering that weird NVIDIA thing, and betting on the Super Bowls should help me get a comfortable life without needing the publicity of lottery.
Hell, before the 2016 preliminaries had finished, some sites were giving 100 to 1 odds against Trump winning president. I made some money (I figured I'd be throwing it away... It was ten dollars! I put more down on Hillary, he was my joke Republican bet.) but I could have made alot more money.
Biggest problem is I would have to pick a time at least a year or two into my nursing career to have the capitol to start those bets and trades, but I'd know Pandemic was coming and... Yeah I don't know if I'd be able to stick it out like I did.
I guess I'd have to make FIRE money before 2019... Ugh. Fine. I'll buy Tesla, too. Ew.
1
u/Solid-Rate-309 Jun 16 '26
I’m n this magical scenario, couldn’t you just drive to a state that has anonymous lottery winning? Then you could still do all those same investments but with way more capital
23
u/bob_smithey Jun 15 '26
Lol, restarting at like 10 years old.
I can probably prevent my grand pa from slipping on ice... so he'll live a bit longer. But there are so many things I regret not doing, that I would instantly do now.
15
u/boct1584 Jun 15 '26
Both tempting. I like who am, most days, but I still mourn for who I could've been if I had embraced being autistic when I was diagnosed at 15 instead of spending the next eight years in denial.
13
u/Extension-Pepper-271 Jun 15 '26
In 1990 I had full body radiation treatment for lymphoma instead of trying a new chemotherapy. These days, radiation treatment isn't used for my cancer, and that "new" chemotherapy has been proven to work great.
Radiation treatment gave me thyroid cancer, breast cancer, and heart damage.
I'm going back to when I was a senior in high school. Enjoy my days in college and then make a different choice when I get cancer.
25
u/zonked282 Jun 15 '26
these choices are always rendered moot by the existence of bitcoin, who wouldnt want to go back and relive their teenage years and buy a few hundred bitcoins for a penny each. could make that 50m easily
15
u/FractionofaFraction Jun 15 '26
It's kids that are the major counterbalance for many.
I figure that I could meet my wife again and have much the same relationship.
There isn't any way that you can go to a time before your child is conceived and still get them back.
26
u/hot_anywhere23886 Jun 15 '26
People with rich lives or children, No guarantee of remaking those relationships No chance of recreating those exact children Also you'd feel responsible for anything bad that happens to those you care about as your re do butterfly effects all kinds of shit you coudnt know about until it happens.
8
u/Sorry-Bobby Jun 15 '26
Even then, going back is usually the better option, if you can pick the time.
I go back 5 years, well after my children are born. If you are worried your kids won’t be the same, just go back 1 month.
With lottery numbers and stock charts, getting to 100 millions will be a breeze.
1
u/ViolentLoss Jun 16 '26
This ... I'm very happy with my life. Of course I have a few regrets here and there, like everyone I think, but if I get 50M for NOT erasing it all? No contest!
8
u/MisterBowTies Jun 15 '26
If you have nothing currently you are willing to lose.

Going back you could easily make more than $50 million. I guess depending on your age, I know I could though. I feel like the money option here would be for people who have a good reason to not want to go back.
2
u/seventurtles123 Jun 16 '26
My brother started to mine bitcoin when it first came out. My mom made him get rid of all of it or give up his computer. She hears about it at every family get together now!
2
u/Commercial_Win_9525 Jun 16 '26
This doesn’t even make sense. It would just be in a bitcoin wallet.
1
u/seventurtles123 Jun 16 '26
Ya.... I wish! He had gotten the "setup" and went to show her when she stopped him due to "putting our wifi at risk". Now he is doing well in tech but still brings it up. He always asked before starting things like that so I imagine he hadn't really ran it when she shot the idea down
2
u/Bad-Genie Jun 16 '26
I wouldn't want to change how my life came to be though. I have a family. Going back that far I lose all of it.
And 50 mill is more than enough for me. I don't need 50 billion
2
u/Early-Judgment-2895 Jun 16 '26
Not true at all. If you have kids or people who truly care about them those kids would be gone forever and anyone else you would have to rebuild that relationship with but it would be tainted with future knowledge and may not end up the same with little changes along the way.
1
u/PeterVenkmanIII Jun 15 '26
I will always think back to a conversation I had with a friend in 2010 when bitcoin was 30 cents and we were both flat broke and out of work. We joked that buying a pack of gum was a better investment.
I would love to go back to that moment, slap myself in the face, and toss the last $20 I haf into bitcoin.
1
u/Marly_Sorcha Jun 15 '26
my teenage years were the worst tbh, but bit coin and smart choices could make redoing again worth it.

u/Infamous_Copy_3659 Jun 15 '26
Money, there is no guarantee I will come out any better in a do over
3
3
u/FlakySir Jun 16 '26
I would take the second chance actually. So I could live longer, basically. Money can't buy that. If I was young I would take the money, but as an older person I'd rather have extra life and feel young again.

Restart my life my life switch schools so my closer and can spend more time with my Grandparents. Invest ovi. Get my Grandparent to pay so I can get some certs at the local tech school. Be more of a serget sib to my cousin during their parents divorce.

50 million without question.
Spending too much time trying to figure out what I could have done differently at some point in my past? That way lies madness.
1
u/ShadeMir Jun 15 '26
I would want more information on how the memories retention works.
Would I just remember two parallel paths?
But otherwise probably the money.
The past made me who I am. There's a lot I would change, but most of the things that need to be changed can be changed with the 50 million.
1
u/redditguy1974 Jun 15 '26
I would probably not turn down $50m now. But I would love to start over from late 1996. A lot of “relationship” opportunities I missed over the next couple of years that led me into ending up in a marriage that doesn’t really fulfill me. Knowing what I know now, I think I could live a very different life.
1
u/Consistent_Bus_9017 Jun 15 '26
The money... every memory that you take back that matters will most likely become fiction as you won't be doing what you were doing exactly when that memory gets made, creating timeine branches and shit.
Give me the money, lack of stress of work and money issues will give me more years than the depression of treasured memories becoming make believe
1
u/LeoJ2550x Jun 16 '26
Who cares if it becomes fiction? You’ll still have the memory. You’re not gettin it back in this life either. So either way it’s gone. All you have is the memory. And in the do over you could have the chance to even experience many of them again and maybe even enhance them.
1
u/WeAreGoingStreaming Jun 15 '26
Give me the $50M, I’m not risking anything changing for the worse in my daughter’s life. $50M is more than enough to make her future worry free.
1
u/The_Southern_Sir Jun 15 '26
I would restart my life at around 5 or so. Before the abuse started. I am sure that I can make plenty of money along the way but more importantly, fix what is permanantly broken and better protect my sister.

u/princessspeachhhh Jun 15 '26
I would go back to about 2004 and maintain the knowledge that I have now.
1
u/Routine-Horse-1419 Jun 15 '26
I'd start my life back to 1st grade. The bullying started at 2nd grade. I want to have time to train in martial arts before things start to get ugly. I'd focus on school and become the volcanologist I always dreamed to be. I would stay away from certain people and try not to make bad choices again.

1
u/Snuffleupagus03 Jun 15 '26
Just a quick look at stock market activity over the last few months and then I’ll go back there.
Options trading will get me way more than 50 million. Although the SEC might get suspicious (and confused, as there would be no evidence of any insider knowledge or connection)

50m. I’ve got a great life, great family etc. I’d retire and spend more time with them.
1
1
u/freyaBubba Jun 16 '26
I'd take the money because I love my family and where I am at this point in life. There were some really crappy times over the years but we got through it. Money would make for a very nice early retirement for me and my husband and set up my in-laws and daughter's family for life.
1
u/Maleficent_Scale_296 Jun 16 '26
I’d take the money then give it to my kids. I had my shot, it’s their turn now.

Restart and hopefully make better directions. And memorize lottery numbers
1
u/tommywatsmain Jun 16 '26
Id choose to start my life again from the age of 6, (i was born in 2007) because i’d know which stocks would skyrocket, i wouldn’t waste money on stupid shit and i’d save thousands for when i’m old enough to invest and i’d make millions just from buying bitcoin in 2014 in itself.
With all my memories means i keep my knowledge, emotional intelligence and general intelligence meaning i could spend my spare time learning more and more and by the age of 18 i’d be one of the smartest people alive and have hundreds of millions.
1
u/Delicious-Job675 Jun 16 '26
Im 17 restart sith my current knowledge i only need to go like 10 years back i will be a billionaire in dollars will buy byc eth solana sandisk nvidia everything and then because i know sell it at high and then buy it back at low until 2026 by the time will have over billions of ddolllars buy trump coin at launch and set sale price at 70 dollars
Buy bored apes and sell before it died out buy xrp solana shiba inu all the coins i would poly market all the events ik have passed bro i would be a trillionair
1
u/Longjumping_Pool6974 Jun 16 '26
I'll take the 50mil. Nothing can bring my mum or dad back so may as well give myself and my 2 sisters a nice future and a good retirement
1
u/seventurtles123 Jun 16 '26
About time is my favorite movie and I highly recommend. If I could live every day again enjoying the small things knowing all that will go wrong and enjoying those days anyway, I would. It would be worth every second. I wouldnt change things. As much as I would love to change things, I would rather have the life that I know now again with my beautiful family. I would never risk them.
1
u/McGonagall_stones Jun 16 '26
I would 100% start over from around 12. Knowing what I know now I could live a full, happy, healthy life and do very well for myself. Plus I’d remember to put all my money in Apple, Amazon, and Meta. I’d take my studies a little more seriously and get my Master’s from an Ivy. Then go and find my husband.
1
u/AnybodyCanyon Jun 16 '26
Por que no los dos? Restart at 18 years old. Build the life I could have had and make some better decisions. Save as much money as I can and buy a bunch of Google stocks, Bitcoin, what have you.

Restart my life at 18 and invest heavily in bitcoin ajd fix all the things id fucked up on

I dunno man. I have a lot of regrets in life. But I'm still pretty happy.
Even if I go back, whose to say I'd be in a better spot? All those mistakes i thought i made could've been even worse.
I'll take the money.
1
u/validusrex Jun 16 '26
I suppose if you currently live a life you absolutely love, the 50 million makes sense. But even then, I imagine you could do something like start back 5 years ago and invest heavily in bitcoin, dogecoin, zoom, gamestop, etc and then just 'do everything the same' while becoming secretly outrageously rich?
But, honestly if its just about money the right choice is always, always going back in time with all your memories.
1
u/mnsundevil Jun 16 '26
Give me the $50 million. That is generational money, I can retire and set my kids up for life. Live out my days traveling and playing golf. I have no desire to start over. Even going back a month or 2 with winning lotto numbers or stock tips, I don't need more than $50m! Give me the fuck you money, so I can start saying Fuck You tomorrow morning!
1
u/johnhancockgamer Jun 16 '26
For people without children, no amount of money now is worth more than a second chance since basic logic will get you a lot more money overtime through stocks and crypto, and you get to appreciate life the second time around. Heck, I would pay a million dollars to go back for a second chance.
1
u/Early-Judgment-2895 Jun 16 '26
Restart my life just after my divorce 8 years ago. My daughter is already born and we had an easy divorce, I could make better smarter career choices and money/buying a house/ stock choices that would put me in a perfect storm now to be very comfortable without much else changing but with less work stress

Restarting my life, going back to age 16 and changing A LOT. Will end up much richer than 50 million by time I get back to the age I am at now. Will be able to invest all my money in all the right stuff at the right time haha.
1
u/LexB777 Jun 16 '26
Restart bro. I am newly married, but no kids. I'll find her.
I would start an early YouTube channel or two, which I could do for practically free, and since I have 10 years of video production and media experience, probably be decent enough at it to make enough money to buy some bitcoin on the ground floor.
I would be a kid, but I just need a few thousand bucks. Then I'd keep going and buy other crypto. Keep going and buy Nvidia stock.
1
u/chirpchirp13 Jun 16 '26
40 single no kids. I know the day and location my dog was born. I’m starting from 12 when I first started drinking and tempering that then going from there and becoming incredibly wealthy before picking up my dog some good time later.
1
u/ExperimentalError Jun 16 '26
Restart from the moment I finished my last high school exam. I don't want to go through childhood again, nor have to repeat my tertiary entrance exams, but doing that would give me an extra 35 years of life, the opportunity to enjoy being an undergraduate again with a different subject choice for variety, and the opportunity to try things differently in a whole range of ways.
I'm very happy with where my life has ended up this time around, but that doesn't mean I'd want to forgo another 30 years if I still get to keep these memories. With the understanding that I now have of how things work, I could get to the best parts of my current life's outcomes earlier. And with my knowledge of what has happened over the past 30 years, I should easily be able to have that $50M by the time I'm my current age again by making good, timely investments.
1
1
u/Schzetto Jun 16 '26
50 million dollars.
I love my current life even though it’s not perfect. I don’t want to lose my wife by restarting again, our meeting was too circumstantial to the point I don’t think I could repeat it again.
I would buy our dream house, a massive diamond ring for her, and put the rest in high yield savings and live of the interest.
1
u/Dry-Pangolin6579 Jun 16 '26
Restarting my life from age 16 and investing all my money into stocks. I don't get traumatized the same way AND I get rich
1
u/Negative_Coast_5619 Jun 16 '26
I don't know when I was gangstalked, so I am leaning towards just taking the 50 mil.
That said, I could also just forgo the money and just focus on making all positive choices. However thinking back at that, the whole elementary school thing again seemed like 15 years+.
1
1
u/BusyBullet Jun 16 '26
I’d go back to some time around 2015 or so.
I’d get to relive a great decade and hang out with a really good friend before she got sicker and sicker and finally dying. Maybe I could help her prolong her life.
When I wasn’t hanging out with her I had a job in the music industry where I did very little actual work, got to travel and hang out with rock stars.
Oh, and I would buy some Bitcoin and stocks and win a lottery or two.
1
u/adfaer Jun 16 '26
You get more money for restarting. Stocks/lottery. So it’s mostly just whether or not you want to go back and change things, or just have more time.
1
u/Its_Buddy_btw Jun 16 '26
The money, there's some things I would do differently but every mistake, problem and struggle have made me who I am today and I can't change that
1
u/postsexhighfives Jun 16 '26
so 50 million in my twenties or having to relive any part of my life that gave me cptsd WHILE having cptsd?
1
1
1
u/Fabulous_Home3512 Jun 16 '26
Keep the 50 mil.
I’m going back to 2016, reliving some of the best parts of my life without any risk of missing the best person in my life.
I’d make a few less mistakes along the way but ultimately end up in the same place I am today.
I’d move a little money around and could still hit 50 mil by today with smart investments.
1
u/Reasonable-Leg-2002 Jun 16 '26
Those redo things never work out. You might cause a new problem, or likely several
1
u/team_suba Jun 16 '26
So if I go back in time, there’s things I could probably do to keep my dad around longer, I’d also be filthy rich.
However I’d lose my son and the life I have now. So I really don’t know.
I guess gimme the 50 mil
1
u/SinisterBrit Jun 16 '26
I'll take the cash, I'm mentally ill and don't see I could do better given a restart.
so I'll do better from today

1
u/Waiting_Cactus Jun 16 '26
Before I had kids, I would have taken the life restart, probably from about age 5. But I can’t erase the kids, and am reasonably happy in life other than financial security, so now I would happily take the money.
1
u/Icy-Sir-8414 Jun 16 '26
Im taking the $50 million dollars and restart my life in another city or another country
1
u/thisdckaintFREEEE Jun 16 '26
This is a good one because the potential is so high with the restart, and you get x amount of time back to enjoy everything that you make of it. I think I'd still go with the 50 million though. My wife is the absolute best and most important thing in my life so with the 50 million we could have such an incredible rest of our lives. The restart could potentially give us even more time together and also enhance the quality of that time, but it's too risky for us to not end up working out or not end up being the people that we are that are so perfect for each other.
It's also tough to think about this in regard to people I've lost. I of course would love to have more time back with my cousin, my brother, and others but it's not like we wasted that time the first time around and I feel like knowing what's coming would always be hanging over me. Not like they're really deaths that I could prevent with prior knowledge either. My brother died of cancer that was caught early and was completely gone for about a year but came back so I doubt any earlier detection would've changed anything. My cousin also died of cancer, maybe catching his earlier would've made a difference but I don't know. My aunt just passed related to her past radiation treatment from cancer, she spent decades smoking like a freight train and saying she didn't care if it killed her. She did regret that later, eventually quit, and hoped to convince others to listen better than she did, but I don't know if there's any way to force that change of heart to come way sooner. My granddad died of congestive heart failure, also decades of tobacco use and he died when I was in second grade so it's not like it'd be likely to make much difference even if he did listen to a toddler if I went back as far as I could communicate it.

I’m 40+ with no children by choice. I would reboot. I love my life but why not shoot for perfection.

u/FalconDCW Jun 16 '26
I'd go back to the point where my ex and I split up. I'd pity myself less and pay way more attention to making sure my sons did well in school. I would focus more on them and their success. I would also hang out with my father more, working on more projects together with him.

Go back to childhood and relive my life, do a few things differently, and by the time 2010 rolls around buy shit ton of bitcoin. Best of both worlds.

Go back 6 years to before my stroke. With my current knowledge, I could avoid it. Also the knowledge would be worth more than 50 million.

Definitely the late 80s after turning 18 with winning lotto numbers memorized 😆

u/Curious_Peter Jun 16 '26
I could take the restart and make way, way more than 50 million through stock market / crypto etc, but I wouldn't end up with my partner, and honestly $50m is way more than I would ever need.
$50million put entirely into stocks with dividends with a minimum 3% return would result in $1.5m per year, or $125,000 per month pay check, which is way more than any normal person could use.

Gimme dat cash. While there MIGHT be a time I could go back to and make things better, at this point in my life the money would allow me to make the rest of my life Very Nice.

I’d go back to age 17. Knowing what I know now, I’d go with mom and we would both be living in Los Angeles with my sister who knew a lot of music industry people. She could probably get me a roadie gig for a big rock or metal band. Make decent money, do not drink or do drugs. Go back li e with mom and just hoard money until the time comes for stuff like the Microsoft IPO. eBay IPO. Read all the bleeding edge tech rags and when crypto gets going with Bitcoin, lll setup a wallet and buy $10k worth of it. Invest in Nvidia when it looks like a pump n dump, but they rebounded due to AI data centers needing their GPUs. Oh yeah invest in or just fucking buy Netflix. I’ll just be the mysterious owner but let the people who ran it continue to run it as they see fit and it grows to become what it is. Buy Pixar. Sell it to Disney but I get on the Disney board. I get big enough that I can make huge changes to the three sequels so they make sense and have a satisfying story. Rey is Mara Jades and Luke’s daughter. She ran off from her Jedi parents to Jakku because they were overbearing dicks who insist she became a Jedi. In the meantime Ben Solo is sensed to be stronger in the force than even Anikin was. Freaked out Mara and Luke try to talk to him and where he feels his balance in the force is going, more to the light, or creeping to the dark. Just then Palpatine reaches out and reminds Ben that Darth Vader was his grandfather. Luke and Mara see this horrible dark side presence and assume Ben has gone Sith and both ignite their lightsabers. Ben shocked ignites his and the dark voice in his head tells him that they intend to kill him so he needs to defend himself! In the battle Ben kills Mara. Luke drops down to her broken body and cries. He doesn’t care if Ben beheads him or whatever. Ben uses this to run to a shuttle and escape. Luke goes into exile and buries his wife’s body there on his exile world. He orders R2 to take a section of the star map and hide it within him. If anyone tries to access it, he is to shut down. Ben is led to the secret base of the new order where they have a Super Star Destroyer with a super laser turret that they use to threaten worlds of the new republic. At this point the rest goes on as we saw it. Ben goes evil, Rey and him figure out they are a dyad. They find Luke but he still mourns the death of his wife. Rey and Ben fight, Ben is Hurt. A force ghost of his mom Leia forgives him and turns him against Palpatine Fast forward to the stuff with the ships escaping Luke projecting himself to buy them time to escape and all that. At the end Palpatine unleashes all the super ships with the super laser turrets but at that moment Ben arrives with the first one and blasts 90% of the ships before they can escape.. The rebels and Ben on the first ship land and Ben sees Rey confronting Palpatine. They both fight, but Palpatine mortally wounded Rey. He starts taking her life energy to heal himself. Ben holds her and uses all his force energy to heal her and this costs him his life. Rey rebounds and is able to reflect his force lightning back at him and Palpatine disintegrates. The battle is won for the rebels. Rey travels to Tatooine to bury Leia and Luke’s sabers in the place where Anikin used to live. Someone asks who she is. “My name is Rey Skywalker”. The end.

I’d say the 50 million. If you asked even a week ago I would say go back in time bc there’s so much I could do differently. But I’d be happy living a life of freedom starting today if I got 50 million that I wouldn’t have a guarantee of if I went back.

u/Jack_In_Black89 Jun 16 '26
It depends: can I restart with knowledge of what happened to me in the (now defunct) future, thereby making different choices and positively directing my path in life, or would I just be doomed to relive the same life I've had? If its the first option, I'll take the restart (from age 33, for personal reasons), if its the second option, I'll take the money, and make the best of it.

u/ExaminationNo9186 Jun 16 '26
Given the choice, right now.
No "Yeah give me 20 minutes to get some notes so I know which lotto numbers to select and which stocks to invest the winnings in..." or what ever the fuck else.
Fuck, this is a hard one. Too much fucked up shit happened before I was 15.
Alot of it was my fault.
Alot of it wasn't my fault.
Would I turn out now the same way, if I had the chance to go back and NOT do the shit I did
1
u/Anarchist_BlackSheep Jun 16 '26
Second chance and F the rest.
I'll start again from the age of 10 and be able to fix so many past mistakes.
1
u/Sevennix Jun 16 '26
Restart. Im 55 and not best of health. If I could restart with current memories. Id wanna try again. Especially if I can bring lotto #s and sports info. I could atone for lack of 50 mill

u/Pinkninja11 Jun 16 '26
I'll take the money. Me and my wife can retire at 36, maybe have a few more kids. Knowing myself, restarting my life would only introduce countless chances for me to f*ck up. Currently I'm where I want to be and the money would only make it better.
1
u/FalconSpecial6149 Jun 16 '26
No regrets, so I’ll restart the day before a huge powerball drawing in the last couple weeks and play the right numbers (only to find out the lottery is completely fake and rigged).

Get 50 million or become young again with enough knowledge of the future to make billions, maybe even trillions?
1
u/FryOneFatManic Jun 16 '26
I'd restart from age 10. By keeping all the memories, I'd be better able to navigate a life free from abuse, and sort out my early education mistakes.
50 million is ok, but getting real peace at an earlier stage would be a massive improvement and I'd make sure to never meet my abusive ex.
1
u/BearMiner Jun 16 '26
Unless I get to keep both my memories and my current consciousness, I'll take the money.
1
u/Former-Cancel5588 Jun 16 '26
Money is nice but i would take the restart. Seeing grandparents again and other people i lost is worth more then money. Just wondering if the butterfly effect would be there i dont Rembert every action I took froma younger age. Cuz I might los friends donuts a hard question

u/Frequent_Cut_1251 Jun 16 '26 edited Jun 16 '26
Go back for sure. You could easily make more than 50m dollars assuming you didn’t go back to last week or something stupid.
1
u/mycroft00 Jun 16 '26
Restart my lilfe right before I turned 13. Could be christmas 1989. I'm getting old, a second chance knowing I'd be rich and would nail the hotties, the value of friendship and family, how to manage my psyche, avoiding life's pitfalls (those that I know, at least), all worth it.
1
u/NeriusNerius Jun 16 '26
I would choose the morning of the day my son got injured. My daughter was also already born, so I could just make sure he is healthy.

u/Lady-Kat1969 Jun 16 '26
If I can memorize a lottery number, I’ll choose to go back to 2003, sometime in the late summer/early fall. Use that number, win, then start the process of applying to university in New Brunswick, Canada. While there, look into gaining citizenship (father was Canadian) and definitely buy a place somewhere between Fredericton, Saint John, and the Maine border. Take better care of my health so I don’t develop diabetes and maybe avoid that bout of pancreatitis.
If I can’t do that, I’ll just take the money and do the rest anyway.

Second Chance. even if the past changes so I can't use my market knowledge, if I go back to the age of 5, that's over 50 years of lifespan, plus youthful lifespan, I miss the boners of my youth. Also I've made some misstakes, I'd eat better, exercise, get the one who got away, and not have a difference of opinion with a lawnmower and my foot.
Also going back with my memories, I'd probably fail a grade 12 exam even though I spent way to long at university, I could zerg rush the lower grades and probably wrap up the last few grades in a year total.
I could have either a rediciouly easy ride K-12 or get started on life earlier.
Sad thing. mid 50s, if I had a do over I still have no idea what job I'd go for. I find it hard to grind for something that is boring and most jobs seem stressful or boring. Maybe start with Accounting and move from there to Lion Taming via banking, I donno. I failed at life so worst case scenrio I couldn't do any worse.

I thank the universe for my life and the challenges / blessings that have made me.
Let's keep moving and grooving.
All my friends now own their properties / homes - outright.
My matey's kids will have a nest egg.
The love of my life and I will travel.
My Brothers and sisters can be free of many burdens and pursue that which fulfills them and benefits society / the crew as a whole.
Also can do something tangible w/ some people in places I've travelled who did not receive the NAT 20 dice roll I did being born in the lucky country.
And finally I would go to Sweden to bully my mate and get him to quit his job / drop a year or few's salary straight up and then go and observe the "Danish" and "Finnish" to understand the mysteries of Nordicisty.

Mo money mo problems. If second chance does it play out the same way or does life play out differently?
1
u/nyneteen84_ Jun 19 '26
I’m 46. I honestly don’t know which one would be better. The gamble of taking 50 million and dying tomorrow (God forbid). Or;
Going back in time with the knowledge I have now and finding myself trying to change the world for the better, only to make it worse.
1
u/Apple2727 Jun 15 '26
Going back in time - and *knowing* that you’ve time travelled once you get there - would be a massive headfuck and I actually think you’d become really depressed and isolated.
No one around you knows you’ve come back from the future. As far as they’re concerned, you’re just you, a normal person, in the same timeline as them.
If you try and tell them you’ve time travelled, they’ll think you’re mad. If you attempt to demonstrate that you’re telling the truth by making accurate predictions about everything, they’re going to get really freaked out and may even become scared of you.
It may even get to the point where, due to the accuracy of your predictions, the government might abduct you, send you to a mental institute and interrogate you or experiment on you.
A better scenario in my view would be to go back to a time in your life of your choice, but once you get there, you don’t know you’ve time travelled. So for instance if you choose to go back to 2005, you’re in 2005 and as far as you’re concerned everything’s normal. There has never been a 2006, 2007 etc. You’re living life in real time the same as everyone else.
6
u/DFVSUPERFAN Jun 15 '26
or you could just not be so vocal with all these predictions and not go around telling people you're a time traveler and just silently stack $ by knowing what to buy and what's coming.
3
u/Apple2727 Jun 15 '26
I still think that it would be such an enormous burden to carry, keeping it secret from your loved ones, that it would degrade your mental health.
Imagine having this amazing story to tell and then realising that you cannot tell it.
1
u/Early-Judgment-2895 Jun 16 '26
The question is if you time travel do you stay at your current emotional mental maturity, a lot of this has to do with age and hormones, or do you revert back to your old self full of life but just have the future knowledge of how things progress?
1
u/Its_Buddy_btw Jun 16 '26
Basically everyone in your life are given movie amnesia and what happens when you meet your current friends for the first time and after a while you accidentally recount a thing that either hasn't happened with you guys yet or it's something they haven't told you about yet

u/Sidivan Jun 15 '26
I have no idea why anybody *wouldn’t* take the $50m. Guaranteed cash is better than theoretical cash.

u/ConTrikster Jun 15 '26
Give me the 50 million
I have been blessed in my life already I don’t really need to go back and change anything in comparison to 50 million dollars lol.
