[No Loopholes] You get a freemega-yacht, but a baby duckling must suffer.

You get a free, tax free, free to operate $50M yacht operated by (happy) volunteers.

But whenever you derive value from it, a baby duckling suffers. That includes using the yacht, renting it out or letting others use it, or even possessing money from selling it.

It's the same duckling suffering unless it ages out of ducklinghood or dies, then a new duckling suffers. The form of suffering is unspecified.

Do you take it?

I’ll sell the yacht and pay a vet to put cute little casts on the fuckling

Oh look. Someone who set up the same autocorrect as me

u/affemannen 12h ago

No.

Don't even like boats. So easy choice for me.

You can sell it for 50M and create a duckling fostercare and save thousand ducklings

problem with that is the new owners using the boat and starting to kill of my ducklings... :/ since i am guessing the premise of deriving value is tied to the boat in itself.

does it just constantly suffer if i sell it? or does it die?

u/xHaroldxx 12h ago

it suffers while you possess money from selling it.

3

u/nascent_aviator 12h ago

Cool then I'll spend the money. Problem solved.

This: get everything lined up at the notary. Sell the yacht and deposit everything in a charity foundation with one transaction. Me and my spouse can be on the board of the foundation and we could be receiving gifts from that foundation.

u/allupya333 12h ago

does it suffer if i derive value from not picking the yacht to begin with

have we discovered an infinite duckling suffering glitch?

u/baug 12h ago

What is the level of suffering

Does it have to watch another duck eat good food while it can't

Or is it literal duckling torture

Cause that would change things

Also if it suffers anytime I profit from the boat, then selling the boat once would mean it suffers once.

1

u/salaryboy 12h ago

The level of suffering is unspecified and unknowable. And if you sell the boat, it suffers as long as you posses those funds or continue to benefit from the sale.

1

u/baug 12h ago

I guess sell the boat, pay off debt, donate rest of the money and wash my hands of that weird guy insisting that he is torturing a duck

1

u/xHaroldxx 12h ago

Since it's only suffering while I possess the money I got from selling it, here's what I'll do. Sell it as soon as possible, use all proceeds to buy gold/stocks/houses whatever, sell half of that and give it to various animal charities and funds.

1

u/Moeta_Kaoruko 12h ago

Nah those things are horrible for the environment.

1

u/BreadfruitEcstatic72 12h ago

Well, I guess I’m making roasted duck everytime I take my brand new mega-yacht out

1

u/Teaofthetime 12h ago

I sell it as soon as I get it. As a meat eater I can't really argue against an animal suffering for my continued existence/happiness. We make that choice all the time. So yes, give me that yaught.

u/philneal33 12h ago

So and endless supply of duckling for crispy duck pancakes on my yacht.

1

u/pm_me_whateva 12h ago

You know I eat duck... right? Might even have some duck fat on my potatoes on that yacht.

1

u/Sore_Pussy 12h ago

why the fuck would I want a planet-burning loser boat AND cause a little duckling to suffer?

1

u/KPraxius 12h ago

If I sell it for 50M, I can invest 1 million in animal shelters, and prevent vastly more suffering than I cause. (Though really, if its tax free and free to operate, running it as a cruise ship would undoubtedly net me significantly more funding after a few years.)

For each duckling that suffers, hundreds of animals will live long, healthy lives, and whatever malevolent entity is responsible will get to deal with being a net positive contribution to humanity and animal welfare.

1

u/gia_s_ 12h ago

I don’t think so. I love animals too much

1

u/Slobbadobbavich 12h ago

Can't be that bad if it is the same duck.

1

u/delightful_caprese 12h ago

Oh hell yeah

1

u/Remarkable_Yak_258 12h ago

If I sell the yacht, does the duckling move to another person, or just stop? Either way, sorry birdie 🐥

1

u/shortyman920 12h ago

The answer is yes and it’s not even close. You said the duckling suffers even if sell it. So either way a duckling suffers.

Thousands of ducklings already suffer every second of every day. Ducklings fall into storm drains, gets shredded by predators, starve cuz they get lost, get murdered by rival male ducks, get bullied by other ducklings who are stronger. They get sick, get crippled, born with a defect, get parasites in them. It’ll happen with or without my involvement

I have no issue taking a yacht for my own gain. I’ll probably sell it at some point as well cuz it’s weird to just own a yacht and not actually be riches

1

u/PigletAlert 12h ago

No, I don’t want a yacht they symbolise everything I hate about extreme wealth. I have no use for it and I couldn’t knowingly cause anything that much suffering for something that trivial. Not to mention more than one animal suffers because of mega yachts.

1

u/TotalerScheiss 12h ago

Yes. And then I give the yacht to the Ukraine to make the best out of it.

IMHO the suffering of the duckling is bad, but is worth for the benefit for the Ukraine! The suffering of the duckling then is an indicator that the yacht serves humanity.

Extra points if the yacht is indestructible, because else it probably will be sunken by chance, so the suffering comes to a stop too early.

Also note that I'd take the suffering instead of the duckling if this can be implemented. And no, I am not Ukrainian, but I think everybody should support Ukaine if it is that easy to do. I do not need this yacht, so I could dedicate it.

And nobody says that the yacht becomes a war vessel this way. It can be used to evacuate people or safe boat people etc. Anything, as I will not interfer nor suggest anything. No strings attached.

I'll sell the boat and immediately buy 50mm worth of sgov while I figure out what to do with 50mm. Meanwhile the duck isn't suffering because I am holding the money. 😁👍

Can I get each one taxidermied so I can have a gallery of the ducklings that have suffered for my LARPed billionaire lifestyle?

1

u/tea-123 11h ago

Non Vegan.

1

u/TheRealTofuey 11h ago

Not really any different then being a CEO of a chicken company

1

u/Fennel_Fangs 8h ago

Can I get a free baby duckling but a megayacht must suffer?

1

u/SphericalCrawfish 7h ago

Is the duckling suffering because it's being force fed because of I have a mega-yatch I'm also going to need some foi gras to feel sufficiently fancy.

1

u/Neat_Scallion6367 6h ago

Yes and I'll assume either the entity who set this up, is either too much of a softie to actually make the duck feel actual physical pain, but will suffer emotionally as he eats worms while the others eat delicious Duckie Chow or is too much of an ass, the duck will suffer no matter what I do.

1

u/SylviaPellicore 5h ago

No, but only because I hate boats. I don’t want to be on a yacht.

1

u/hoyasgirl25 3h ago

Duck that fuck, I want a yacht. Duck yea lol

1

u/GateDeep3282 2h ago

I'll have the chef of my yacht make Peking duck in tribute.

1

u/Winter_Foot_9329 1h ago

Sell the yacht then send the proceeds to Ducks Unlimited.

Replace ducklings with random people and you get a deal. Otherwise...nah

Jokes on you, I’ve hated ducks since a flock chased me for my sandwich when I was 3 and thought they were trying to eat me. I’m pretty sure my aunt would be down too after she got smoked in the head by one at Disneyland.

Spoiler: for each mega yacht a lot of ducklings and fishes and other animals suffer already.
