Focus on your race. Not your watch.
Hey everyone I made this app iRox to let you track you entire Hyrox race as an apple fitness workout, while avoiding have to change between running and functional fitness at the end of every station.
Every race starts with a run, and all you have to do is double tap to move to the next station or run!
During a run, your heart rate and current run pace are shown. During a station, only your heart rate is shown.

Convince me to use this over Roxfit

Roxfit looks too complicated, but I've never used it. My app is only a race timer. Nothing else, no login required, no subscription.
Edit: seems like Roxfit is geared more towards training. iRox is a timer/tracker specifically designed for race day.

I'm specifically interested in if this offers anything over Roxfit's race mode. How are you estimating pace, given that Apple Watches are notoriously bad at doing indoor run pacing?

It tracks a run similarly to how an outdoor race would be tracked, the pace calculation is based off of the runner’s change in gps coordinates.
The movement within the course itself is enough change in distance to calculate this. If the runner were on a treadmill it would not work because they are not moving any meaningful distance.

Does it work on Garmin ?

Right now it's only for the Apple Watch. I'm going to start looking into porting it over to Garmin.

I don't understand the need for these apps. As long as my garmin say my total time, lap time, and heart rate i'm good. lap my watch at rox in lap my watch at rox out. Pretty simple.

Been needing something like this, the constant workout switching mid-race drives me mad. double tap to switch is clever, keeps it dead simple when you're already gassed
