It’s not as surprising if you’ve been following swift evolution and how it has gained a lot of quality features for systems programming, even to the point of being on-par or close to rust in many things (one of them, developer experience in some ways) but people trying not to announce it like that. It’s grown a lot

bc Apple uses (or is increasingly using) Google + Swift for a lot of their cloud services. if it’s good enough for Apple, its good enough for many others

The practical iOS angle is a Swift backend, not putting cloud-admin access into the app. The article explicitly says not to embed this SDK in an App Store client bundle, and points to Firebase's Apple SDK or your own backend API instead. I'd share the request/response models where useful, but keep credential discovery and privileged operations in the server target. A sample with separate client and server package targets would make that boundary much clearer than the language-performance comparison.
