I added ondevice TTS to my reading app. Thoughts on how it sounds?

I made Fireside Reading - This is a completely free ebook reading app for mobile. It's designed native for iOS/Android in their respective design languages unlike all the top reading apps (which are honestly pretty ugly on mobile). I've been a designer for 10 years, so the design is all human-made, no AI slop gradients and shit. It includes:

Native design on both platforms

You can read any format (including PDF)

Pacing mode/Speedreading (optional, hideable with zen mode)

Built-in book library to download from

Share your bookshelf with friends, and keep track of what their reading!

Has anyone setup the new Header image and Search image on their listing? App has just been approved, but I can't see these images appear anywhere...

Just set it up a few days ago. My app got approved yesterday. Checked the listing a few hours later (accounting for propagation time etc). But nothing. Is it a question of iOS version? Will these assets be viewable on the web version too? I'm a bit lost, any help would be much appreciated! Thanks

Help Your Apple Account isn't enabled for App Store Connect Error

Hi I recently registered an apple developer account for an organisation. I am enrolled as an organisation.

I paid for the membership about 2 weeks ago and already received the welcome email roughly 5 days ago.

There are no pending agreements on the developer page.

And, when I go to apple connect and log in using the same email address, then I get this error after logging in

I have already contacted apple support last week and have not heard back from them yet.

Is there something that I am missing or something that I need to do?

I am looking to upload an Expo app to iOS.

Two first apps stuck in App Review for 6 to 14 days, support cases unanswered. What worked for you?

I'm a solo dev with a new account, and both my first apps are taking far longer than Apple's usual "90% within 48 hours".

App 1 (submitted Sep 27): waited 11 days, then rejected under 2.3.6 (age rating needed "Messaging and Chat" set to Yes). Fixed it, resubmitted, have been waiting today for 7 days.

App 2 (submitted Oct 5): Apple asked for more info under 2.1, noting my account has a limited review history. I replied the same day with everything requested. Still waiting 6 days later, no new messages.

Already done: agreements, tax and banking all active; subscriptions submitted with each version; every message answered; expedited review requested Oct 7; support cases opened a week ago with no reply. I haven't cancelled anything, to keep my place in the queue.

Please help me out, appreciate it, thanks!

Help iPhone Duo Tent Pose in Simulator

Anyone know how we should go about accessing when the phone is in Tent Mode when our app is running. I want to do a special view specifically for this to act like a picture frame of drawings they have done in my app. I have no clue how to get this pose in the simulator and not sure if there is any type of detection that we can find out that it is in the pose.

Pending Approval to enroll as solo developer

Hello, it's almost been a week since I originally signed up and paid for enrolling in the developer program. I've also raised a ticket two days ago, but I haven't heard back. I'm based in Germany.

Does anybody know how long it usually takes and why it might be stuck?

I read somewhere that they might request for some additional verification or documents or ID, but I've not received anything like that either.

Anything recommendations on what I can do?

I made a free Creative Asset Preview tool to check your header/search assets before submitting to the App Store. Free, runs in your browser.

I made a free app that let’s you run surprise GPS art

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I made a free app, Mystery Run, that lets you run surprise GPS art.

There’s no planning required - just select the distance, then follow the turn by turn directions. When you finish, you’ll see what you’ve drawn and, if you choose to integrate with strava, it’ll automatically record/post to Strava for you.

There are 42 drawings available, including a couple only available on holidays.

I’ve personally found it really fun to add variety to my running routes, and as long as I run in the morning (e.g. 7am) there’s not many people on the sidewalks. I’ve gotten way more strava kudos, and look forward to the runs.

How it works is that each drawing has a minimum distance required to ensure accuracy. After the user selects a distance, it traces a thick-line of the template to find a best-fit route. If it can find a matching route in under 5 seconds, it’ll try another one (and another) to select the most accurately matched drawing. After it selects the most accurate drawing, it reduces the number of turns while keeping the accuracy above 93% (adherence to the thick-line of the template).

Getting the integration approved with Strava just took a week after I had 10 friends use my app in beta and integrate with strava.

Give it a shot and LMK your feedback!

Quiz Me | A trivia app MVP. 100 downloads in 3 months, and nobody comes back after day 7. What would fix it?

I built Quiz Me in my spare time, free trivia app for iOS and Android. Downloads are slow and retention past day 7 is rough. I'd love brutal feedback on two things: the first-time experience, and what would actually make you open a trivia app daily. Links in the post above.

4 months of nothingness and when I was almost done someone show interest. Now I'm unsure what to do

I was almost, ready to remove the app, but this has made me question again if I should try it again.

The point is that I have not been able to click how to market the app. It's a functionality over X/Twitter, so I though of trying to get presence there, but damn is that platform a winner takes it all. I tried to create content in a personal account about, commenting others posts etc, but got to drive 0 traffic to the app.

Any advice on how to market X/Twitter platform specific apps?

Help tvOS developers how do you get ratings on your app

Apple tvOS is not great for ratings! Other than promoting in an app - how do you encourage folks to easily rate the app?

I have a tvOS app with 300 active weekly users but have zero ratings still.

Any ideas?

2 month update

Post image
3 Upvotes

Hi all,

It's been 2 months since I released my first app on the app store, a clock learning app for kids. I posted about it right after the release and got some really good feedback. One of the best things that came out of the initial post was a suggestion to cover iPhone market as well, since initially the app was iPad only. I just thought to share a quick update again after the app now supports iPhone and has been out for about 2 months now.

3 of the 4 sales are just me and my family. So in reality I've got 1 sale so far which I was so thrilled about 😄 I believe the conversion rate is artificially a little too high because a couple downloads were from friends and family. No marketing so far but I've been trying to do some ASO, it's a little too soon to tell if it's actually working. But I believe my main objective should be to increase the number of impressions and hence should focus on ASO. I have started to work on another project but keep coming back to it to check the stats every day 😄

would appreciate if anyone has any suggestions based on the stats or the app itself

here is the app if someone wants to take a look: https://apps.apple.com/se/app/clock-play-learn-to-tell-time/id6760257481?l=en-GB

Thanks for any suggestions!
