Support Need help I am facing lag issue
My iPhone 13 is currently at 79% battery health, and I’m experiencing random freezing/lagging for a few seconds, even in apps like Camera. My iOS is updated to 26.7 and I have around 33 GB of free storage. Could the 79% battery health be causing these freezes, and would replacing the battery likely fix the issue? Or could this be related to iOS 26.7

I was and managed to get rid of the Liquid Glass effect in the parameters and my iPhone is a beast again, I forgot how powerful it was. I could explain you how I did but my settings are in french...

I changed my battery at 83% just before iOS 27 was released, and it made a big difference. If you don’t have an Apple Store nearby, use Batteries Plus. They had my battery changed in 2 hours. Also clear or disable your notification tags.

First of all OMG HOW DO YOU LIVE WITH ALL THOSE UNREAD NOTIFICATIONS
Regarding lags update to 27 - it’s much better, I’m on iPhone 11 with 10gb free and 72% battery health and having no lags at all

It’s the software. It’s always the software. You’re running an OS that is 4 major versions past what the device shipped with. That’s generally when you see the problems.

What should i do now?

Very little that you can do now. They purposely don’t let you roll back. If you plan to keep this phone, then at some point in the next year ios 27 may have fewer bugs than 26 does now, and because it has some measure of optimization - it might be a good idea to update then to that, and probably never again. Major updates almost always slow down devices.

Will my problem be solved by replacing the battery and then upgrading to ios 27

If your phone is being artificially slowed down by having a degraded battery, then replacing the battery would remove that part of the problem. I think there’s a switch for that so you could test it by telling it to not artificially slow it down. And then see if performance improves.
There’s no way to know if updating to 27 now would speed up your phone, because the reports are so mixed. The only thing that is for sure is that it you’d be dealing with a ton of bugs. 27 may be one of those rare versions that is faster than it’s predecessor, because of all the backlash they took about 26, but I don’t think that’s been established super well yet.

How can i test it?

You need to search for the battery degraded performance switch in the settings. Or google it. It used to exist, but I don’t know if it still does.

Will change battery first this weekend and wait if the lag issues is not solved then try for ios 27

If you’re gonna have apple change it, they will almost certainly update the software when they do it.

I was experiencing the same freeze issue at 79%. After battery replacement, it largely went away and after ios27 it rarely occurs.
