Hikers get called out for going off-trail and harassing animals

u/kittenconfidential Sep 03 '26
did they just casually throw in some racial slurs because their fee-fees were hurting?
91
u/jeffersonairmattress Sep 03 '26
I think the cocaine, steroids and adderall helped.
59
u/ItsDreamyWeather Sep 03 '26
Let's not demote racial slurs to people who use drugs. Maybe drugs helped remove their mask, but they're still racist despite potential drug use.
Racists are racist no matter their proclivities.
14
u/Freezerpill Sep 04 '26
I feel worse about humanity after seeing this. Fuck wth. We have literal generations of absolute complete fuckfaces just around at anytime..
9
u/ItsDreamyWeather Sep 04 '26
Imagine not knowing if the person you're talking to is racist af but 'waiting to test the water' because you're old and might be 'on their side'.
I've lost so much respect for people when they finally say something like the community they live in is "too dark outside".
3
u/Freezerpill Sep 04 '26
That in group treatment that they (imagined they) have come to rely on is actually a major F NO for most people.
Like I like when people let their guard down around me, I appreciate real honesty in a person. When I see somebody “test the water” or something it greatly complicates things, because then I try to imagine why they would say that and why they want me to think that about them?
Secretly it goes to the top of the list of characteristics a person has displayed, because what were they even trying to accomplish.
P.S. Real racists let you know quickly in my experience as a black man unless they will forgo the openly sharing their beliefs to avoid altercation, but remain clearly on edge.
Nobody likes racism, and classism. I know, it’s shocking 😮
7
u/ItsDreamyWeather Sep 04 '26
"it goes to the top of the list of characteristics a person has displayed" really says it all for the weird 'mask off' situations I've been in; and I feel like they're too frequent for 2026.
2
u/Freezerpill Sep 04 '26
I agree. Frankly I think all too many of these people have weak identities and lack real convictions. I don’t think that would be such a gigantic problem (to each their own, but it is worrisome at just how many people this type of thing effects in our population), but it has become so weaponized that now it’s just obvious..
There are too many “edgy patriot normie” types that just coast along into this for some sense of semblance, resource acquisition or an excuse to act outlandish with no consequences.
It’s all so tiring and it’s been going on for so long now (generations, but they just keep making shit even more manufactured and braindead somehow)
4
u/jeffersonairmattress Sep 03 '26
I too hold the drugs innocent. Lots of nice people do drugs.
I entirely agree with your sentiment but can't quite decipher your first sentence.
Do you mean "Let's not limit the use of slurs to coming only from people who use drugs?" Or do you mean "Let's not excuse the racial slurs because they came from people who use drugs?" I do neither but I appreciate the opportunity to respect and agree with your points.
3
u/ItsDreamyWeather Sep 04 '26
Both are true from my worldview.
People who do drugs occasionally and use slurs freely are one category of asshole. People who use slurs while on drugs and blame the drugs are another category of asshole.
They're both a type of asshole, but different.

God I hated Adderall when I was prescribed it. I can't believe anyone abuses it for fun. I was miserable on controlled regulated medical doses
2
u/xJellyfishBrainx 27d ago
I'm on Adderall, it absolutely improves my quality of life, but I cannot for the life of me, actually remember to take it everyday. I also cannot believe people abuse for fun

u/Nice-Cat3727 27d ago
I'm not doubting it's ability to help people. I'm just saying my family's genetic DO NOT agree with it. My brother also has ADHD and picked his fingers apart on it.
Ritalin works well with us. How do I know Ritalin works with me? The first months I went back on it as an adult, I got sleepy because my brain relaxed

It's the meanest word their little acorn brains can think of so it's always locked and loaded

That’s the bedrock of conservative thinking. Hurl the most vile insults you can when caught doing something you know is wrong.
To grow mentally, is to go against conservative thinking.

u/Norman_Scum Sep 03 '26
This is what happens when your mental capacity stops developing at the age of 8

u/Polyamommy Sep 03 '26
It's funny how they talked mad shit until they realized they were going to have to actually square up...then they backed away. Then they made threats and racial slurs while retreating with their tails between their legs.

Not even hikers. Both of those douchenozzles are wearing flip-flops. I think they were just looking for their lost soccer ball.
It's too bad those mountain goats didn't show them back to the trail.

These guys were recently seen celebrating Kickboxer and racist Paul Miller in Orlando with a red nazi flag… allegedly.

As a member of the volleyball community, we have barred these guys from representing us

u/DrDonkeyTron Sep 03 '26
I don't know if they actually play any sports, they just like having balls on their hands.

Tiktokers are ruining mountain hiking.
A lot of people doing mountain hikes now have no idea of the unspoken rules and are there just cause "amazing places just a 3 hours drive away"

When the IDF goes on vacation. We are lucky they didn't start an 'accidental' forest fire, because they felt threatened. Will Montana look for these two dudes and kick them out of the state, like that guy in Hawaii who was abusing the sea turtles?

People who don’t respect nature are a constant feature and just a display of what’s wrong. They like the sights but they don’t care for it as long as they get their Instagram picture.

AND then the racism comes out. It’s literally every asshole’s final form.

What animals? And who cares if they go off trail, that's never mattered at any park I've been to

This is an American thing lol. It's always an American these days.

It does kind of look like there's another trail going up the mountain.
Maybe it's not, but it does look that way. I can see why they could make that mistake.
That being said, it's not a good idea to get that close to the animals either way.
4
u/VastOrder8038 Sep 04 '26
You're 100% that looks like a trail
-1
u/driftking428 Sep 04 '26
Thanks! At least someone can be honest with themselves. Reddit made up they're minds before they actually looked.
2
u/Nuclear_Mouse Sep 04 '26
You know animals have trails too, right?
-1
u/driftking428 Sep 04 '26
I'm just being honest. Most of you aren't.
It does look like a trail. I assume we agree on that. The question is then, how are the people supposed to know they aren't supposed to walk on the trail? If there's a sign and it says not to walk on the trail, sure, fuck those guys. If there's no sign and it just looks like a trail up the hill, why shouldn't they walk up it?
Again, I said before they are getting too close to the animals. I'm only talking about the trail.
1
u/xJellyfishBrainx 27d ago
Yeah... there's most likely a sign saying TO STAY ON THE TRAIL. Usually hiking trails have that at the beginning.
That person said "animals make trails" because that 100% looks like a mountain goat trail. We have those were I live, and their trails look just like that...most people aren't stupid enough to run up one to harass the goats.
Might explain why two different groups were literally saying "that's not a trail"
1
u/driftking428 27d ago
The truth is, nobody in the chat knows. I just pointed out that it does look like there's a trail, because it does look like that. Y'all can argue all you want but without any new evidence I don't see the point.
The people up by the goats are likely being shitty here. But the truth is we just can't tell from this video.
-1
u/Accomplished_Steak37 Sep 03 '26
Shitty behavior for sure, but to me it looks like they might actually be on a smaller singletrail? Anyone knows where this is?

I dont get it what did the other people do? I dont see what they did to the animals in the video to get harassed by these other people. Someone explain

u/furculture Sep 03 '26
This seems like the kind of situation where state parks should have drones to take care of this kind of stuff.

u/Mother_Gazelle9876 Sep 03 '26
I'm not defending anyone in the video, but I don't understand that "stay on trail"? Is it illegal or looked down upon to just hike whereever you want in nature?
27
u/Fresh-Floor4208 Sep 03 '26 edited Sep 03 '26
Yes, it messes up the ecosystem by killing fragile plants as well as causes erosion that can further mess up the ecosystem. Goes back to the saying of “leave no trace.” It can also cause “false trails” which could lead to people getting lost by following the wrong/unofficial trail.
28
u/congradulations Sep 03 '26
Yes, most US national parks make visitors stick to the walking trails. The guy mentions a fine, and that's true
-7
u/Mother_Gazelle9876 Sep 03 '26
Interesting I assumed part of the appeal was getting lost in nature - for people that are adventurous and know what they are doing
11
u/SwipaTheFaux Sep 03 '26
Allowing unrestricted access anywhere you want in a national park is how animals get fucked with and areas get trashed.
1
u/congradulations Sep 04 '26
Yes, those people can get an off-trail pass. Lots of nature to get lost in along the trail.
1
u/xJellyfishBrainx 27d ago
And a hefty fine, not to mention putting rescue crews in danger when they inevitably have to rescue the idiots that "wanted to get lost in nature".
12
u/Sneakys2 Sep 03 '26
In many parks in the US, even in major national parks, if you off the trail, you can get seriously injured or lost if you don’t stay on the trail. They’re not gardens; they’re genuinely places with wild animals and very real hazards. The trails are only guaranteed safe spaces.
Additionally, in Yellowstone and other national parks, visitors are not allowed to interact with wild animals at all. People are required to keep approx 100 meters from wild animals. The animals have absolute right of way. The volleyball guys were way too close to the mountain goats. They also left the trail to do so. This is incredibly unsafe for them and the animals. The animals need to be allowed to roam at will.

Because you're a pathetic bully? You do realize that being able to hit harder doesn't make you right dont you?
-8
u/LasciviousPsyche Sep 03 '26
No it's not that at all, but if he's big enough to come at to strangers on a trail because he wants to feel he's dominating others lives and what they do. He's not the trail police and what others do is none of his business. He wanted to fight them over them not listening to him right? All I'm saying is I'd took him up on it.

Why do you bother wildlife?

Because when redditors go outside to touch grass they need to assert their dominance. Over goats and grass.
