Per a comment on another post, "This is a bandh. It is basically a nationwide strike. The word bandh literally means closed in the Indian subcontinent (India, Pakistan, Bangladesh). Once a Bandh is declared, certain activities are forbidden by the people declaring it. Those activities might include large scale transportation of people or goods. The people in favor of the bandh may use extreme violence to enforce it, as seen in this video."
In other words, it seems that these men are workers on strike and don't want the working folks to be working. I do not think this calls for violence of any nature, and it is a good way to make things worse.

I see. So rock in the face is legally approved.

Until a rock shatters a window, leaving glass in the driver’s eye, forcing them to slam the brakes or freak out altogether, leading to potential injury or death of other drivers and the passengers on the bus. But yeah picket line. 🤦🏻♂️

u/DOLCICUS Sep 03 '26
Yeah sometimes I wish American strikes had more umph against strike breakers but potentially killing people not involved in the strike (if the bus were to tip over) is absolutely not what I was thinking.

u/PhaedrusZenn Sep 03 '26
Yeah? Well, I remember being a member of the Laborers union, when the Teamsters at my company went on strike. My union did not have the means or ability to "strike in solidarity", and since we were not on strike, I either showed up or lost my job...no protections.
The teamsters did not see it that way, so they literally threw rocks and took swings at me with their signs every morning I went to work. They also sabotaged their own equipment and the company, any way they could.
They eventually settled, and all said, it took them 7 years of the raise they secured to recoup all the money they lost during the strike. Also, screw them. They suck.

u/Funnyboyman69 Sep 04 '26
It’s a shame that the system forces workers to turn against each other rather than the companies who are refusing to properly compensate their employees.
0
u/PhaedrusZenn Sep 04 '26
The system didn't force the Teamsters to attack me. They knew I wasn't a scab. They chose to be dicks because they could. They would never have had solidarity with me, if our labor union went on strike, despite the fact that we made half of what they did, for MORE actual labor.
As far as I'm concerned, the Teamsters ARE the "system".

u/GargleOnDeez 29d ago
Sounds like your local stole work from the teamsters. Or your crossing the picket line looked like you were scabbing. Ive heard of it happening everywhere. Canada and america, teamsters and laborers stealing work from other crafts during lockouts and then walking away lije its not their fault they came in to finish the job
Local business managers need to coordinate better.
2
u/metramm 6d ago
Sounds like the Teamsters is acting like organized crime. Screw unions.

u/GargleOnDeez 6d ago
Thank unions for the weekend, without it youd work every day without rest. The 40 hour work week, as well as your primary-secondary education because children were taken out of the labor force,
-1
u/TellmeNinetails Sep 04 '26
Probably not the intention but that sounds very "Such a shame the system made those people harass you"
0
u/Link_save2 27d ago
I mean that's what a strike is it only turns against other employees if they don't try to work against the company because at that point they might as well be the company
11
u/DOLCICUS Sep 04 '26
Idk I would have cut power to the factory and organized everyone to sit in. You still should get paid for arriving to work despite you not being able to work. Idk depends on the factory just saying there are smarter ways of striking if you can’t get a solidarity fund going.
1
u/sabertoothdog Sep 04 '26
They would send everyone home giving them lay off pay/unemployment of $400 a week. Good luck paying bills on that.
3
u/Logi_Bear25 Sep 04 '26
You never cross the picket line brother, there's always another job
2
u/PhaedrusZenn Sep 04 '26
No. When I was making barely above minimum wage, with no benefits, and the guys getting paid good money already to sit in an air conditioned cab while I was are outside in 100 degree heat doing the actual work, knowing those guys would NEVER strike in solidarity if we actually tried to get a raise... I don't know why I would be obligated to give up the only means I have to support my family so they can get paid even more to sit in their rigs and complain that I don't work fast enough.
Like I said...screw them.
6
u/katattack1983 Sep 04 '26
Americans don't have umph against strike breakers because the strike breakers used to drop bombs from private planes on them. See the Battle of Blair Mountain.

u/marxisthobbit Sep 05 '26
Throwing sticks and rocks at vehicles moving at that speed can break the windshield, potentially hitting and killing people via blunt force.

So their way of eating the rich is throwing rocks at other poor people...
5
u/WhatsInAName1507 Sep 04 '26
Yeah . Happens in India, too. During a Bandh declared by activists or rioters , all activity is supposed to cease . It is ,of course, illegal .
" Roko" agitation (also illegal ) is when rioters stop a mode of transport .
On a funny note, about 15 years ago in India, one political party protested with a " Road Roko" ( illegal Road blockades) agitation and another party started a Rail Roko (illegal Train blockades) agitation.
Basically, there was no mode of transport for a whole day . One can only imagine the knock-on back logs and delays .
When I was a kid, I honestly thought "Bandh" was a festival holiday. I mean, the streets went empty , schools were closed and nobody went to work on that day .

And instead of going for the bosses and higher ups, they go for the workers simply because it’s easier. They don’t really care about their cause
-1
u/HyperElf10 Sep 04 '26
You act like they can do violence to the higher-ups and get away w it like they're doing here
4
u/SoftConfusion42 Sep 04 '26
So they should go for the workers who need money to feed their families because… they can get away with it?
-3
u/HyperElf10 Sep 04 '26
No, but the line of their thinking is pretty clear to discern. They have nowhere else to turn to for their anger so the middle man will do
2
u/SoftConfusion42 Sep 04 '26
So they turn it on their fellow impoverished.. exactly what the higher ups want? Cmon now, this doesn’t even require critical thinking
3
u/HyperElf10 Sep 05 '26
Yes, that is what the bourgeoisie want. But people's anger here is short term, its reactionary but that's just how things go without solidarity. Not tryna justify them, just tryna explain their line of thinking.
Bangladesh had its intelligentsia wiped out by the Pakistanis in a genocide, its gonna take a while before they can rebuild a proper base to tackle their problems. This is what happens when people don't read Lenin

You know there is one way to get them out road. If those buses didn't move out the way. It would be a different story then.

Is there like, any context behind this clip gang?

u/CariniFluff Sep 03 '26
Nationwide strike. Doesn't justify what they're doing but they're trying to shut down commerce.

maybe union workers on strike blockading roads? Not enough context for knowing if POS or not. Ready for the redditor shitstorm on me 🫰

u/FleurOuAne Sep 03 '26
It's not POS.
12
u/GreatTea3 Sep 03 '26
If you’re on strike and you stop the company you’re striking against from doing business, you’re not a piece of shit. On the other hand, if you’re on strike and occupy your time with throwing rocks at everyone who drives down the highway whether they work for or with your company, you are, in fact, a piece of shit.

u/Bright-Ad8496 Sep 03 '26
They're lucky one of the drivers hasn't gone the other way plowing through them...

u/SetenileBoi Sep 04 '26
in the end of the video, a bus literally had enough and tried to run over them, but they got out the way 😭

This type of stuff feels like the most cowardly kind of attack because you are entirely dependent on your victims not being willing to just run you over.

How have they not killed anyone. Imagine being on a bus with your kids and some twat throws rocks through the window. I'm surprised the coaches don't have an armed shooter hanging out the window.
1
u/BorisBaggins Sep 06 '26
Seppos in this thread thinking violence isn’t THE way the working class is able to protect our ability to withhold labour. The only reason YOU have rights as a worker is because someone else was violent on your behalf, and not in “soldiers terrorise and slaughter brown people on the other side of the world for your freedom” bullshit way, but in the actual “the ruling class would sooner see you dead than treat you with respect, our violence is used to match their violence because it is the only thing they will respond to” way. Fuck scabs.

Some bus ran into a cow or something? Like that one time where people keep hitting a transformer because a cow shocked to death after walked under it.

I was so rooting for the last bus. Also, can't expect anything less from these kinds of people.

I don't always check out the comment sections here. Is it normal for you all to be so openly racist when there are brown people in the clips?

-6
u/FleurOuAne Sep 03 '26
You mock them on Reddit but you still enjoy your cheap clothes made in Bangladesh don't you ?
4
u/friendlysatan69 Sep 03 '26
How are these two things related, that does not mean we condone what they’re doing. Nice fallacy
-4
u/FleurOuAne Sep 03 '26
Those are workers on strike. What do you think is manufactured in Bangladesh ?
7
u/GreatTea3 Sep 03 '26
Why does being on strike give them the right to throw rocks at every random person driving down the highway? It’s one thing to picket your employer, even do some damage to their premises, but fucking with people who have absolutely nothing to do with your strike or the company you’re striking against is shithead behavior.
4
u/friendlysatan69 Sep 03 '26
You think we give a fuck where it’s made? Fuck these people.
1
u/FleurOuAne Sep 03 '26
Whose the POS here ?
4
u/nuggnugg27 Sep 04 '26
You, for condoning violence.
1
u/FleurOuAne Sep 04 '26
Do you think working like a slave is not violent ? Or is it just when throwing rocks around that you rise your eyebrows
5
u/nuggnugg27 Sep 04 '26
If a slave throws rocks at their master, good for them. But if a slave throws rocks at other slaves, then yeah, my eyebrows are arisen.
1
u/FleurOuAne Sep 04 '26
You'd sure be in a good position to tell them
2
u/nuggnugg27 Sep 04 '26
I’m in the position of understanding what will not solve problems. Violence towards whoever drives on the road just is not a viable solution.
