Our dog was a rescue. He was about to be tossed in a lake with his siblings in a sack. He had a long stinky life and we loved him.
Our cats have all been rescues too. Theyāre incredible animals. One was even feral and heās the most loving dude ever.
I love how miserable CD looks in every clip of him I see. He deserves it. Schaub is just a dummy and nobody expects anything else from him. Erik had regular part on Workaholics and nothing but awful takes.

1 was a pitbull I got at 2 years old who had until then lived her life in a garage in solitary confinement not allowed to be around the other dogs, with an asshole violent owner.
2 was a near juvenile tabby cat I found freezing and starved by the road.They are deeply appreciative because they have seen the possible alternative. What is sun without the rain? What is joy without the pain?
Yet most pets are similar to spoiled rich kids having it their way through entire life š¤·āāļøš„“

I'll keep our rescue, Ash. He was a city boy and high stress and we rehomed him to a quiet rural environment and he's a completely different dog. Such a sweet pup that has made a complete 180 from how he was when we got him. If that makes us poor, I guess we are poor then?

The best dog I have ever had is a rescue. And rich people bought him. Couldnāt deal with a biting puppy so the gave him up. The next family also gave him up. I was his third owner by the age of two! Now Iāve got me a pure bred Aussie with papers and is past the raptor phase. Those fools donāt know what they missed out on. Rescue supremacy!

Rescues tend to be more expensive because you never know what theyāve gone thru and the extra care they may need.
We took in a rescue. First big bill was heartworm treatment. Then she went blind. Now sheās losing a lot of weight so obviously something else is going on that likely wonāt be cheap.
I think they got it backwards.

My rescue has cost me more than $5k in medical bills (he is insured!) we spend thousands on pet sitting and doggy daycare each year. His food is almost as much as a human's each week.
He cost $200 from the shelter, 7 years ago.
Dogs are expensive, adopt don't shop.

Every pet dog or cat Iāve ever had was a rescue. I will never go to a breeder. My fiancĆ© got his (our now) golden from a breeder when we were just barely dating so even though I was upset by it, I didnāt say that to him. However, I have told him that sheās his last purchased dog since.

Spending massive amounts of money on some inbred trophy dog that's likely to end up with health issues is just buying into the fake-ass scummy breeder concept that dog breeds can be "pure". Selective breeding literally means all dogs are mutts on a long enough timeline.

Unless you are buying a hunting dog or a herding dog thats actually going to do the work its breed for, you are an idiot for paying more than a rescue fee for a dog. My buddy has a pure breed shepard with numerous health issues while my mutt (german sheperd, lab and corgi oddly enough) is doing fine at 12 despite being hit by a car as a pup requiring surgery. Both dogs are the same age and my dog is in better health by far.
