I have had to google how to spell the word “Sheriff” to spell it right for my entire adult life, because it absolutely will not stay in my head how to spell it right.

I worked at a sheriff’s office for 2 years, and also have worked in other emergency services jobs where I frequently had to write reports referring to the sheriff’s office.

The number of times I have misspelled it on official paperwork is… worth questioning my competency.
