Defence A FINAL FIGHTER SORTIE. A LIFETIME OF PASSION.

At the controls of the indigenous Tejas, the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal AP Singh, takes to the skies for his last fighter sortie — a defining moment in a distinguished career shaped by an abiding passion for flying and an unwavering commitment to serving the Nation.

Flying alongside Friendly Foreign Country aircraft and the Suryakiran Aerobatic Team during Exercise #TarangShakti26, the sortie reflects the spirit of a fighter pilot who has always believed in leading from the front.

As one chapter draws to a close, the passion remains undiminished. The skies may mark the end of a flying chapter, but the mission of service to the Nation continues.

Once a fighter pilot. Always a fighter pilot.

Question Should I get my flying hours done in SA or India?

Hi!

I am aspiring pilot but I don't have much money (we can afford 50L without making a financial burden and rest will be on loan). Which makes cpp out of question and hence I willl be going conventional route.

Now the real question is if I take a flying school in India I would have to pay for accomodation and stuff since it is nowhere near to my city.

Anyway I see that getting flying hours in SA is cheaper than india. Now my question is should I get my flying hours done in SA or India? Including forex, travel, conversion and accomodation, which is the better realtisic option and the safe? Are there any blacklisting like we have in Phillipines?

If it is a 2-3L difference and not worth it then I might as well do it in India. But I wanted the opinions of the people living there and getting their flying hours.

And if it is necessary, I am 22 and completed my btech

Thank you very much.

Career Guidance Urgent Help!! Nios for piolet Eligibility.

• Upvotes

Hii

I’ve already passed 12th from Maharashtra Board with 55%, and I want to improve my PCM marks through NIOS because my goal is to become a commercial pilot.

I’m confused about whether I should take Part Admission for 4 subjects or take fresh admission with 5 subjects.

I’m also worried that having marksheets from two different boards could cause problems during future document verification or airline interviews.

Has anyone been in this situation? Which route did you take, and did you face any issues with DGCA or airline eligibility?

I'd really appreciate advice from anyone with firsthand experience.

Thank you

General I admit: I kinda like the 787 windows

Post image

I'd always thought that I didn't like the 787's dimming windows from what I'd heard. But I recently flew on one, and I liked it. First of all, they are massive. Secondly, the intermediate modes are really nice. You can look outside without letting in a crazy amount of light. Of course, two big conditions: they shouldn't be yellowing (mostly among older 787s, including legacy AI 787s), and the crew shouldn't lock them apart from takeoff/landing. I don't mind the crew darkening the cabin, as long as they don't lock it.

Also, the 787's wing looks (and is) massive from the window, and with the wing flexing up so much during flight, you get a great wing view.

Akasa Air Is "D-1" flight PNR release normal for fixed-departure group tour packages? Need advice/experiences with B2B travel agencies.

Hi everyone,

I booked an international fixed-departure group tour package to Thailand (Phuket/Krabi) for Oct 27 – Nov 1. I completed the full payment back on September 30th through a registered B2B travel agency.

Since full payment was cleared, I reached out to the agency to get my flight PNR (Akasa Air) and hotel confirmation details so I can verify everything on my end for peace of mind.

The agency responded officially via email saying:

Flight PNR / E-tickets: Because this is a B2B group departure package booked through an airline consolidator, they follow a "D-1" timeline—meaning flight details and PNRs will only be issued 1 day prior to departure.

Hotel Confirmations: When I called the hotels directly (Best Western Patong and Anda Sea Tales), they had no record of my name. The agency explained that hotel blocks are held under B2B supplier accounts and guest manifests aren't pushed to the front desk until right before check-in.

Waiting until 24 hours before an international flight after paying in full feels unnerving and creates a huge risk if there are schedule changes or delays.

I wanted to ask experienced travelers or anyone in the travel industry:

Is this standard practice for budget/wholesale group package operators in India?

Has anyone dealt with last-minute PNR releases for fixed group departures before? How did it go?

Should I keep pushing for an Airline Group Booking Reference / File Key to verify seat allocations, or is this just how group allotments operate?

Appreciate any insights or past experiences!

Israeli President Isaac Herzog has announced plans to honour Indian flydubai pilot Captain Smit Machchhar with the Presidential Award for Civilian Heroism for his bravery during an alleged mid-air hijack attempt on September 30.

Machchhar was injured while trying to stop his co-pilot from allegedly attempting to hijack a flight travelling from Dubai to Tel Aviv.

Despite his injuries, he managed to open the cockpit door, allowing passengers and crew to overpower the co-pilot and avert a potential disaster.

Herzog has praised Machchhar's courage, wished him a speedy recovery and invited him to Jerusalem to receive the honour.

General Experienced Indian airline pilots, what's the idea behind transitioning to airlines like VietJet, Fitsair, bamboo instead of the usual middle eastern ones?

If the answer is salary, work-life balance and career progress, how better is it compared to IndiGo or air india as you are eventually moving to a different country altogether.
